Like most takeout Chinese places, highly suggest getting the sauce on the side for the protein, and then get a few different other ones they offer like duck sauce and get a range of flavors to choose from. It's extremely affordable with big portions and quick take out. the Fortune Cookie is one of 3 Chinese spots in Windham (Greenleaf Buffet and China Taste being the other two). I have made this spot my go to because of the sesame chicken. It's pretty much what I always get and this place has a great rendition of it. The chicken is crisp and sauce is sweet and tangy. Most recently we tried the chicken fried rice. Not a fan. It was bland and some of the chicken was grisly. I would try something different next time. We found this place by accident one day a few months ago and we fell in love. It is pretty much a take out and pick up place having only four tables. The food is incredible . My husband always gets the Dr. Tsi's chicken or something like that and says it is the best he has ever had. I get the appetizers and they are awesome. Some of this is true; some of this isn't. We called our order in and went to pick it up about twenty minutes later (which was longer than we were told it would take), yet it took another thirty or so minutes waiting at the actual restaurant for it to be ready. Also, the portions are big but confusing. I got a large order of the sesame broccoli, my friend got a small order... they were the same size. Also not that good - more brown liquid then actual broccoli. The ONLY other vegetarian thing on the menu was the vegetable spring rolls... which were some of the best I've ever had. Slightly greasy, slightly crispy, and exploding with cabbage, they were six inches long and there were two to a large order. I got two large orders. So, yes, I ate 24 inches of vegetable spring rolls dunked in sweet & sour sauce and hot mustard... and I'd do it all over again (and skip the broccoli entirely; Lorelai wouldn't have liked that green tree-like stuff anyway). I think if I was't a vegetarian I'd like this place a lot more. I couldn't believe the quantity of orange chicken or crab rangoon (the exact things I would have ordered in my former omnivore life) - those styrofoam boxes become Mary Poppins' bag! The point? This is the exact kind of place that the lovely Gilmore women would have loved. Windham doesn't have much of an Asian food scene. This is buffet caliber Chinese. It's menu is traditional Americanized food. The lunch combo I had was below average in food quality...the roast pork used very grizzly meat, and the moo go sauce was extremely watery and flavorless. Positive....big portions, low prices, and very quick service. Things also looked reasonably clean upon first appearance. The place would never survive in the crowded, competitive, and flavor filled Portland Asian scene, but in Windham, it's a fair take out spot. 2 1/2 starts for the quick service and decent pricing. read more

Pretty sure it's a family-run business and the owner is usually right there waiting on you and/or cooking. HUGE portions-one combination meal will feed two for sure. The food is consistent. The best Chinese in Windham. We ended up here after having many bad experiences elsewhere. The service is great, the food is very good and the portions are huge. I haven't found anything on the menu that doesn't taste great. Every time I pick up our food, I am always grateful with a smile and prompt service. I have never had to wait for my phone order.
