At last, one good Chinese restaurant in ME that knows how to make good Chinese haha. Love the service, take out only vibes, fried rice and lo mein. Honestly the schezuan was too Americanized, didn't have much heat to it. Will definitely go back!

We should have known this is mostly a takeout place when we noticed maybe only 2-3 tables in the dining area, and not so clean including the seats. We decided to dine in anyway but the food we ordered was below par, greasy crab rangoons that looked more like fried gyozos, the spicy string beans were ok, but somehow the brown sauce was too sweet and lacked any spice. The fortune cookie tasted like cardboard... Overall not much of an ambiance or pride of ownership either, unlike any other Chinese restaurant we've dined in, including NYC, Boston, Manchester (NH), Birmingham (UK), Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dubai. During the last few decades, most Chinese restaurants have promoted their not using MSG due to health concerns, and we were perplexed to spot a barrel of it, repurposed as a trash can for the patrons. Cost on the other hand was on par with any other New England restaurant. There is plenty of potential for this prime location, wish it somehow gets better.

This review is only based on one take=out visit and appetizer type offerings at that, but we stopped here just because we had a nearby medical point event, so I thought I would offer a comment or two for what should be our only visit here. It seems like Chinese take-out places all have the same offerings for a lot of their items, but there cn be minor differences that matter to me. I have ruled out a return visit to restaurants whose boneless pork is tough and chewy, for example, Or if their chicken wings are smoked or overdone. At Happy Garden we ordered two lunch combos of singer food, as we were eating in the car. And I can report that the boneless BBQ and the chicken wings were good. The teriyaki chicken seemed a little tougher than it needed to be, but not excessively so. The other items, such as chicken fingers, crab Rangoon, chicken teriyaki, egg roll and fried rice, were all fine. We probably won't be back as there are so many choices out there in the Portland area, but if you like Chinese fast food appetizers at least, I wouldn't discourage you. Oh, we ordered any the counter without calling head, and it was ready in the ten minutes she told us.

Knocked our socks off. Absolutely delicious Chinese takeout, like the kind we used to get in NYC. Affordable and large portions.

Very greasy or very dry. No "Happy" medium. Seems little more pricey then other places and quality isn't comparable. But just my opinion...

We ordered the spare ribs, teriyaki beef, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons and scallion pancakes. The beef and ribs were so dry! The sweet and sour chicken oozed grease so bad we couldn't even taste the chicken, and the scallion pancakes had almost no flavor. However that is nothing compared to the "crab" Rangoon. These were absolutely atrocious! They tasted like fish! And I don't mean "seafoody" I mean like an actual FISH. I don't expect these places to use all crab and am aware most use an imitation, but this was down right unbelievable. Was it old? Idk I don't dare eat anymore. The cost was ridiculous. All this came to just around $100 and it all fit in a small bag. Granted, it was ordered on a third party app, but this was not worth the wait or the money. The only reason they're getting 2 stars is due to the moderately quick delivery, but I think this is more on the dash than Chia Sen. If I wanted leftover Chinese food I would order from a better, cheaper place and eat in 3 days from now. Buyer beware

This is by far the best Chinese food in Maine that I have come across. I'm originally from NY so…read morethat's not saying much!! Ive tried at least 4 other places in Kennebunk and Biddeford and have throw out over 1/2 my orders. Who the hell puts frozen peas and carrots in Egg Drop soup?? Awful stuff. But sad to say about Evergreen, their pricing is way too high now. I was there early this week and $35.00 for dumplings, egg drop soup and beef with broccoli. 6 dumplings @ $11.00; that's $1.83 each for a wonton wrapper with maybe an ounce of pork w/ some ginger, scallions and garlic in it. Plus the souffle cup of sauce isn't even half full and you run out before you finish all dumplings. Egg drop soup, $8.00 for chicken stock, corn starch and an egg or 2. Then $13.25 for Beef w/ Broccoli, mostly broccoli. I realize prices are higher and they need to make a profit. Their service is good; there is no ambiance as it's 90% or more take-out. QI've worked in the food industry for years, I know the cost of a dumpling, probably less than $.50 and egg drop soup costs less than $2.00 inclusive of container. Even though their food is good and they are very nice, it's going to be a while before I go back.

Well, I hate to have to write this, because we've had a couple of very good meals within the last 6…read moremonths. But I hope my critique will help them improve, at least the last 2 dishes I had. (I won't speak to my husband's meals.) First, the orange chicken, which I had a few weeks ago. It was mostly good. My one criticism (and it's a big one!) is to dial way back on the batter. It should be mostly chicken, with a light, crispy tangy coating. What I had was mostly ALL batter, with little discernible meat inside. Not appealing, and it certainly makes me hesitant to ever order it again. The second bad meal was yesterday. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce. I was anticipating lovely tender chicken, infused with a delicious fragrant garlic flavor. What I got was tough chicken (that obviously skipped the velveting process) and bland, tasteless sauce. No garlic was present, as far as I could tell. It was the most nondescript Chinese dish I've ever had. And I'm talking eating at Chinatown in Philly and Boston, and all over the U.S. for the last 50 years. Both of these experiences make me feel as though they've given up on trying to do the best they can. And it's also made me decide not to return-at least in the foreseeable future. But I hold out hope that when I decide to give them a third try, it was be as good an experience as I had before these disappointing ones.

Every know & then I get an urge for egg foo yung among a few other favorites like bone in spare ribs which I can't seem to find at any asian restaurants. If you have suggestions on where to get bone in wings please let me know. The food at Wing Lee is old fashioned cantonese so in essence it's very different than current asian cooking that seems to be more the norm. Now & then I'm in the mood!!! BTW: Wing Lee makes the best won ton soup i've ever had- choc full of vegetables. Yes I Dr it up with some additional asian spices. It's interesting that while writing this review I remember the restaurants name was China Villa owned by Winnie & Andrew Wong. Seriously??!? Maybe I just don't appreciate real Asian cooking.

The restaurant is small, relatively quiet and decorated nicely. The service was very friendly. The menu seems to be very focused, showcasing a handful of shareable plates, vegetarian items, rice/noodle dishes and entrees with authentic Szechuan flavors. Boyfriend got spicy noodles and I got braised beef noodles. We also got a side of their homemade chili oil, and in response to this the server asked us if we wanted our meals to be extra spicy. How could we turn that offer down? As soon as that bowl of noodle soup came out, I knew I was in for a great meal. It smelled intoxicating. It was the angriest shade of red possible, which is exactly what I like to see when I'm eating something supremely spicy. The broth and chili oil were both full of flavor, the beef was tender and the noodles had a delightfully chewy texture. Taking everything into account, Sichuan Kitchen served me one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had. There's really no other way to put it. If you're in the area and you find yourself craving the authentic numbing spicy flavors of Szechuan Chinese food, Sichuan Kitchen is the answer.

The interior is pleasant with decorative paper lanterns on the ceiling giving the impression of "pillowy clouds". My two sons enjoyed the Zhong Dumplings (delicious mix of sweet and savory), which was the highlight of the meal. We also had 2 orders of the soup noodles with minced pork and 1 order of the braised beef noodles. A dish we shared was the fried green beans (which was very tasty). However, the soup dishes were slightly too salty. Also, the quantity of beef was slightly less than I had expected. That said, the service was attentive, and excellent (before the 6pm rush). Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would dine here again.
