I thought I would run in grab 12 items and run out quick, of course I was wrong. I get to the checkouts two lanes are open with 2 to 5 people in each lane and as usual they aren't moving at all. I go to the self checkout and start checking out my items as usual multiple items don't scan correctly and I have to hand code them in. So I'm now doing the checkers jobs but getting no discount for it . I get all my items bag which again I'm doing a courtesy clerk job and not getting paid for it And it gives me an error message that I removed an item from the bagging area put it back I didn't so I have nothing to put back. I then try to remove the bag and put it back and I now get another error message that says item removed from the bagging area please put it . There's no way to just pay at this point and I have no items to put back so I'm stuck. The person who watches over the self check outs is nowhere to be seen and I'm standing there with my young son who is very impatient at this point . After standing around for a few more minutes unable to pay with my son and absolutely no help from the staff I had enough left my bag and walked out. This store have the worst service of any grocery store I've ever been to in my life. And I don't think it's the staffing levels I think it's the staff. Slow and in efficient on an average day with very low customer traffic. I get the distinct impression that the checking staff doesn't care . It's a shame because the meat department and produce department do a good job and for the overall size of the store it's pretty well stocked. But with that said and the fact that the store is a block away from my house I will now be going to either Nob Hill and paying more money or the Safeway by Sun Valley Mall which rocks. If Lucky's cares and I don't think they do they need to do a huge customer service training for this store and get new management staff who correct these problems . If I could give no stars I absolutely would. Your store has finally made the Walmart down the staff seem friendly and efficient. read more

I usually wouldn't give my local lucky 5 stars but i was impressed by the service provided on my visit by academic clerk Dana. She greeted mecwithvav smile and was very nice. I asked for cease salad she informed me they were sold out (it was later in the day) she said no worries give me a few minutes and I can make you a fresh batch. Wow! Thoroughly impressed! Thank you Dana!! read more

My mom and dad each worked for over 30 years for Lucky's, so when it comes to this establishment I'm a bit of a softy. Unfortunately, the company has changed and no longer treats the employees the way they used to, and I can see it every time I walk through the store. Simple shit, like the small hand held baskets for the "lite" shopping experience, why do I have to walk to the check stands to get one? Why can't they be placed near the entrance where people would actually expect to find them? How about the freakin' self checkout area, maybe 50% of the time there is an employee there to fix the annoying "unexpected item in bagging area" error at the checkout machine? Laura F. is dead on with, "This place is attractive for pretty much one reason, convenience." read more

So pretty much think gateways always better than lucky, but I am taking it out on this specific location because it is closest to my house. They are overpriced, their produce and meat just doesn't seem quite as good. They have signs hanging from the ceiling that say threes a crowd...and also say they will get another checker if there are three people but I'm always in a long line and no new checkers cone out. read more

The empliyees are always polite and friendly. They are willing to help out with whatever you need. The store has everything I need

It is what it is - a grocery store. I don't do my big weekly grocery shopping here, but its great for when I'm in a pinch and just new a couple of items. read more

Our local Lucky Supermarket has a good selection of stuff and we really only come here when we see a good deal for something from their ads. Otherwise, I'd probably come here more if there weren't other supermarkets closer. read more

This is just around the corner from my parent's house. I admit I pop in out of sheer convenience from time to time.. and every time I cringe. This store sucks! From the produce to the meat dept and deli! It's dingy, over priced (which makes no sense demographically speaking), and often out of what I'm looking for. I wish Safeway were closer. read more

I have a new place to shop. The produce at this store is beautiful. I love the variety and the employees that work there have always been friendly & helpful to me. I also have had a good experience with the cashiers and an employee in the fish department. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the non-sale prices are a bit high. read more

This place is absolutely horrible if I can give it a zero that would be my writing for this place the meat department suck a purchase and spoiled meat from there June 7, 2017 my has been been shopping there for 20+ years and I've only been shopping there for for that place is horrible and the people that work there never smile it saddens me deeply read more

11/14/11 - I'm not liking that I just called to place an order in the Bakery and before I could finish saying what I wanted I was cut off and transferred to....elevator music! Not good customer service. I guess Nob Hill it will be. I've been on hold for over 5 minutes. C ya Lucky's! read more

I'm always happy to come here. The associates are always happy to help you find something, and if they don't know the answer, they get it from someone else very quickly. I love the Lucky Rewards card because it gives you discounts at Shell Gas. I've got nothing negative about this place to say. The checkers always say something nice, and while you can't buy alcohol in the self check-out, they're not alone in that. Pretty much every supermarket has that rule now. Good prices. Nice people. Very convenient location, only a few doors down from Rite Aid, which is cheaper than CVS next to Nob Hill foods down the street, which is a really, really overpriced market. read more

Lucky gives me the best chance to find every day items on sale or markdown. I never get that chance at Nob Hill and Safeway is inconsistent for me thought I visit on occasion. Lucky doesn't always have the lowest prices but 3/4 times I am satisfied and thats a good thing. read more

This place is a total JOKE. I only go here when I really need something and today when I was in the store I asked for a hand basket only to be told they did not have any because people stole them. So what!!!!! and who cares get some more read more

Don't shop here! They tried overcharging me today for some fish, The computer rang up $6.99/lb and only after I made a comment "hey thats a great price!" did the clerk do a manual override AFTER she verified the price in the computer twice, and marked it up to $8.99/lb! I reported this both to the store manager as well as the department of weights and measures. This is clearly FRAUD people! Don't shop here! read more

I love this location. Everyone is so friendly it makes the long lines worth it. Its not there fault they have great customer service, so everyone keeps coming back. read more

I shop here every now and then and usually 'most' of the staff is friendly. . The store is always stocked and merchandised nicely...... I had a really bad experience today with the cashier who rang me up. I was using wic checks which I understand can be time consuming and tricky. The lady was so rude to me she acted like I was a huge inconvenience and kept rolling her eyes. She refused to pack my bags for me and would throw the receipts on the counter rather than hand them to me.. my 1 0 month old was making his loud baby noises and she kept staring at him like she wanted to say something. . After the 2nd transaction a lady behind me in line made a comment that she didn't know that wic was still around and the cashier said "yeah unfortunately it is" and looked at me and gave me a dirty look! I was appalled! After finishing all transactions I said to the cashier "sorry for being such an inconvenience" and all she said was 'yea' and rolled her eyes again! I will definitely not be returning to this location I would rather drive a litter further to safeway and be treated with respect. . read more

Product review: Sunny Select, Baked Beans was on sale in a 28 oz can. Seemed like a deal until I opened the can to find 1-1/2 cups of beans & the balance was liquid. I rememberd this happening once before,so this time I actually measured the contents to find 15 ozs of liquid & 13 ozs beans,& no I'm not OCD,just pissed at being ripped off. Great deal for Lucky's Sunny Select which is Lucky's 'econo' label. No wonder! read more

Just started shopping here- I cannot walk well so need an electric cart. As I walked in employee stopped an offered to get me a cart and then took my walker for me! This happened 2 out of the 3 times I shopped there. Never had this kind assist at any other store. This store is CLEAN! The produce is fresh and tasty. Meat is fine. Store employees are friendly and cheerful. I am insulted by a reviewer who called shoppers trashy! Shoppers are people who are very kind- I have had someone offer to assist me many times. Overall, this store is now one I will go to often! Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the bakery needs to improve their croissants (I am picky), but do try their cookies and bagels- wonderful! read more
