Stopped by this restaurant on opening day. They had the door open so we went inside. We went to the bathroom and as we came at the bathroom one of the workers came out and said we shouldn't have came inside and he informed us that we weren't suppose to come in in the first place. It was very starling as we had came to use the bathroom and order food and we were greeted in that manner. I've never been confronted in that manner by someone for entering a restaurant when the door was open, showing that they were open. A really scary experience coming out of the bathroom. Be aware of this man.

Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday night, but that meant quick service for me! Went with the brisket sandwich and the Lucius Hot BBQ sauce paired with collard greens as my side. Food came out very quickly and was very good! The brisket was seasoned really well and I loved the sauce. It definitely wasn't hot though, but that's cool.

Came for an event "The Cookout" and was not disappointed. The crowd was lively and the performers were on point! It was great mixed crowd of ages and races and I'm definitely going to stay on the lookout for other events here! Of course I had to sample the menu, and had a Long Island ice tea and smoked wings. All delicious.

This place... Was a hidden gem we found while in town on a "Staycation" even though it's 4 hour away but the food is OUT. OF. BOUNDS.! 2 words... COME. HERE. There was a line for a reason. We found it by accident while wandering around. Relaxed BBQ spot... come as you are. Staff was all cool & helpful.

De-Lucius! We loved everything we had at Lucius Q yesterday. Hubs chose this as his birthday lunch spot and we approve the choice! We started with shared smoked chicken nachos. Amazing. Then we had: Carlson sandwich, two orders of the Pitmaster including brisket, pulled pork and sausage meats -- all superb. And I had an order of the brisket chili fries, which I was forced to allow others to taste but didn't want to -- so good I didn't want to share. Sides were broccoli salad and macaroni and cheese - all devoured. Our server Jacob was friendly and attentive. We sat at an indoor picnic table in the warehouse-y space. Parked in the big lot in back. Overall a great experience and we'll easily be back for more.

One of my favorite places to eat around the casino. The drinks were great and so was the food. Staff was friendly and made me want to return in the future. I also loved the multiple levels and interior.

3way and a side of rib tips

We loved it. The 3way was great and rib tips were good too. The service was great and the bar was very nice. I will definitely be back. Saw the DDD video and wants to try it out.

I was just in Cincinnati for one night...just traveling through, really. During my travel preparation, I bookmarked this "DDD" location. My wife and I often eat at DDD locations, but we are often underwhelmed. This was not the case yesterday. I arrived about 3 o'clock to a practically empty restaurant, which worked out perfectly. My server, Jacob, got to take his time... talk about the show... And point out on the menu what Guy ate. I had what Guy had - the Pendleton Porker (with the jam on the side). Jacob is a cool dude. Wow! What a sandwich! At first, I didn't think I would be able to eat it all. Silly me! I thought it was great! The meat was tender and juicy, there was just the right amount of sauce, and the sandwich itself was not too messy and/or unmanageable. Lastly, the price point was right on; it did not leave me feeling "cheated". Let's just say I'm glad this restaurant is in Cincinnati, and not in San Antonio! I absolutely loved the atmosphere, too! The "garage door"/open air vibe was just the best. It was the perfect day to have the doors open... My only reason this is a four star review were the fries! French fries are one of my favorite things, and unfortunately, these came out overly salted and way too crispy. If I had stayed in Cincinnati one more day, though, you can guarantee I would be getting those fries another shot! I already told my wife Cincinnati needs to be on future trip radar...

    Mac & Cheese Collard Greens

Love that I was able to split the order of six wings and that I could get a bit of sauce on the side to try. The mild bbq didn't work well on the smoked wings imo and the dry rub seemed to have been simply sprinkled on top of the wings and not applied before they were cooked which I find confusing. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly pretty good but the greens were not. They supposedly had turkey in them and I swear I didn't taste a bit of it. The turkey sandwich was pretty good. I got it simply because I love smoked Gouda and the smoked turkey was a wise edition though I think the extras should be different. Unfortunately the restaurant has only bench seating (which I hate) and bar top seating (which I hate even more). The service was also nothing to write home about. I'd definitely eat here again but I'd carry out.

I had a work meeting at Lucius Q this week. When I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly. They were super kind and attentive during my whole visit. I got iced tea and the pulled pork nachos. They were okay, but I wouldn't get them again. I got my husband a Pendleton Porker (sandwich) to go. He ate it hours later and said it was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had. My business partner ordered wings and loaded chili fries, which both looked super good. I love the vibe of the dining room. It's open and spacious with two levels and a little stage. There is also a patio out back you can eat on.

beans - burnt tips and Cincinnati Chili! Chili used shredded beef instead of ground beef .. delicious
    Jennifer A.

Delicious! Some of the best bbq I've had! Collared greens were fantastic and the cheesy corn was so good... I could have sat and ate their sides all day. The service was average. We had to wait a little longer than should have a few times as the waitress was chit chatting with the other workers... But everyone was friendly and since we weren't in a hurry didn't mind to much... If you are allergic to nuts the broccoli salad has some so be careful as it wasn't listed on the menu. The atmosphere was cute and perfect. We were on a business trip so we aren't locals but I sure wish I could go back!

I've eaten my way through every smokehouse in Cincinnati, so when I say Midwest Best BBQ is the real deal, believe me. My arteries are practically Yelp-certified. The team of servers and cooks seems like they recruited an entire football team of young men from the University of Cincinnati; service so fast you'd think they were running a two-minute drill, attentive enough to make your mom jealous, and coordinated like they're protecting the quarterback only this time, the quarterback is your pulled-pork sandwich. Their wings, rubs, and sauces? Every single flavor profile was so good I nearly proposed to the coleslaw. And don't get me started on the G-Funk wings. They're delightful, though naming wings after a rap genre means you half expect Dr. Dre to hand you wet wipes. And let's talk about the smoking schedule. They've got a night smoker and a day smoker, which sounds less like a BBQ setup and more like a buddy-cop movie: "Day Smoker plays by the rules, Night Smoker breaks 'em, but together they deliver justice... in the form of brisket." Mark, one of the owners, literally smokes meat during a half-day shift with the love and passion of a Michelin-star chef who moonlights as Cupid. This guy makes ribs like he's serenading them. If Hallmark made a "Brisket Romance" channel, Mark would star in every single movie. I bought several pounds of meat to take home. Not "a pound." Several. Because nothing says "self-control" like hiding a bag of smoked chicken behind your kale in the fridge. Exclamation point. Period. Now, location... ...here's the kicker. They're hidden off the road over a hundred yards. That's right, it's the Area 51 of BBQ. You basically need Google Maps, a Sherpa, and divine intervention to find them. Yet, somehow, when you do, it feels like stumbling upon the Ark of the Covenant... ...only tastier, and fewer Nazis melting. Inside? Casual. TVs locked on Bengals or Reds games, so you can watch disappointment while you eat happiness. Patio? Shaded. Perfect for when you want to sweat from the hot sauce, not the sun. The sides? Top echelon. Beans, slaw, cornbread, each one a little sidekick to the main meat superhero. And for the low-carb crowd, this place is a protein paradise. Keto bros rejoice: you can bench-press your brisket guilt-free. Bottom line: Midwest Best BBQ doesn't just feed you, it baptizes you in smoke, sauce, and joy. And if you're not leaving with meat sweats, did you even go?

This place I was so impressed with. These businesses are the businesses that deserve to hold a special place in the world... firstly our food was delicious, it came out hot, presented well and was just perfect. Second our service was spectacular, we had Ron as our server he was a true gentleman friendly, attentive, and very experienced from what we could tell. The main host was very accommodating, at first we were sat in a spot we did not like we told him and he moved us to a perfect spot with no hesitation. Third the price was very fair and well worth what we paid. We have been to almost all of the "fine dining spots in Cincinnati, such as Capital Grille, Primavista, Precinct etc and this place by FAR provides the best dining experience in Cincinnati. If you are looking for an amazing meal, amazing service and you are in Cincinnati you better give this place a try. Very impressed and hope this place continues the service and food they provide for years to come and doesn't change.

$100 Food Poisoning…read more My husband was really wanting ribs and we had always heard good things about this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but were seated pretty quickly on the heated patio upstairs. When we sat down, they instantly gave us our water and then we didn't see our waitress for about fifteen minutes. The waitress finally came and we went ahead and ordered our appetizers, drinks, and ribs all at same time because we didn't know when she'd be back (even told them no need to delay the entree to try to hurry things along). We waited quite a bit for our appetizers- about an hour. The couple next to us even left before they got their entrees and were very upset and spoke to the manager. We got the appetizers first- onion straws and the meatballs/grits. Meatballs were.... not good. Very very herby with an uncomplimentary sauce, grits were bland, but at least the onion straws were good. Ribs can out about 20 minutes later. We shared them and got mac as a side. Mac tasted very generic. We were very excited about the ribs but they were a let down. Sauce was very sweet and for price we paid I expected a bigger slab (we got the full slab). Went ahead and got our check while we were still eating so we could hurry home. Now, the real surprise came that evening. Husband got very very bad food poisoning- like the up all night kind. I'm not sure if it was his side of the ribs or the grits but it was BAD. Can't believe we paid over $100 for someone in the kitchen to not follow basic food safety protocol!! We will not be back! Money is better spent elsewhere!

I was down at Findlay Market along with stopping by Sam Adams and wanted to grab a quick bite. My thought was how tasty a pulled pork sandwich would be so I stopped into Eli's. I placed the order then saw a sign indicating I believe it said 15-20 minute wait. At first I had a hard time comprehending this and why there were so many people standing around. After some time had passed, I heard them say to put DoorDash on a delay. After a bit, I walked over just to observe to see what may be taking so long for orders to be prepared as I don't believe any of their food is cooked to order but is prepared to order. With this I mean, all of their food is already cooked,it is a matter of dishing it up. Again, seeing that there were three people plus and order taker, again I (who worked much of my younger years in food service) was trying to decipher the delay. Then I watched as the staff was joking, laughing and just being sort of happy go lucky in the back (not that you shouldn't have a good time at your place of employment) whic in my personal opinion added to the delayed preparation. I'm order finally was ready after the 15-20 minute wait and I was ready to eat my long awaited pulled pork sandwich. I must say, it was quite delicious and met all that I was hoping for and I'm sure any of the sides are equally delicious. With all that said, the whole waiting experience lessened the visit for me but the food did make up for it. I'm not sure about their other location but with the one by Findlay Market, if you are in a hurry, skip Eli's, if you have the time to wait and want delicious food, them give Eli's a try. Now that I know what I know, the next time I go, I will stop by and place an order the go do my Findlay Market shopping and come back to pick up my food to help with time management. Nine the less, if you have the time, I would say give them a try.
