Recently went the lucius q for the first time and the location is great. It's right next to 3 points and Pendleton parlor. The inside it's a cool rustic feel and there is a loft with seating. The food was was relatively good. I had the brisket, it was a little dry and fattier than I'm used to. I had queso corn and grits as my sides and they were good. I would definitely recommend the queso corn. They have a large variety of sauces. There was a white bbq sauce that was amazing. I drove by this place a month ago and it smelled pretty good - I knew I would need to try it out. I made it by today with a friend and tried the pulled pork, brisket, and queso corn. Things could have been top notch as you could tell had things been hot the food might have been good but it seems no one cares. Lucius Q is a somewhat new restaurant (3 years) that isn't afraid to take chances. The food is flavorful, unique, and new food additions are added often. It's very obvious that the management really cares about their staff and the staff is extremely happy to be there and provide excellent service. The chefs care about the food they are producing and will suggest different selections based on your preference. Wing Wednesday is one of my favorite times to go because the wings are so seasoned, sooo good, and you must try them! I especially love dipping them in the white bbq sauce!! I believe they added a Taco Tuesday special as well as brunch on the weekends. I haven't been able to check out those days yet but I surely will. Today I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a collard greens and banana pudding everything was very well seasoned very well flavored and delicious the only problem I had with the meal was that the sandwich had to be reheated before I put the barbecue sauce on it and the coleslaw to bring out the correct flavor but the collard greens were nicely seasoned and well flavored with the turkey the banana pudding was hidden on All points it had the right amount of bananas the pudding was really sweet and there was a right amount of crumbles at the bottom which basically made the banana pudding a big hit I would definitely order again great food great value keep up the great work. read more

The long picnic tables allow for big groups or simply the chance to meet new people. I love how open the restaurant itself is. It has plenty of seating. I had a decent experience here. The decor was clean and contemporary and the customer service was great as well. We were greeted with smiles and patience due to all of the questions we had. There were items in a BBQ spot that I had never heard of that made me instantly curious. I decided to go with a half slab of St. Louis ribs. For $15 I thought it was a little steep for the portion but after hearing how much time went into preparing them and them being double smoked I was more than satisfied. What a delight, best decision for dinner for the first night in downtown Cincinatti. This is a great local BBQ place that serves the most amazing sauces, try the golden sauce and the white sauce, along with really creative side dishes, please try the Grits with blue cheese, they are to die for. The rib tips were delicious, which is what I ordered. I also ended up ordering 6 of their wings, on Wednesday they are $1/wing and they were so worth the money. I didn't get any sides on my first visit, and we weren't drinking, so there's more to go back for. If you haven't been to the neighborhood, check it out. I really do not like being served cold or room temperature food. This was the case with all the meat we ordered. The Fuego was good but when you bite into the cold piece of sausage on it, all you taste is the fat/greasiness. I thought the burnt bellies and brisket was pretty good but there may have been a mix up on the portion size (we initially ordered 1/4lb and changed it to 1/2lb which I didn't see). The sides were standard, but I preferred the baked beans to the Mac and cheese, too loose; more Alfred less Mac n cheese. My favourite thing about this place though was the bartender. He was so charismatic! When we asked for a cocktail menu, he said he would give them to us, OR we could just tell him what kind of alcohol we wanted and he would craft some drinks on the fly. So that's what we did and they were perfect. Why not 5 stars? They were pretty close, but I find the setup confusing. The pulled pork sandwich was good. The pork wasn't dry and it had a nice bark. The bun was fresh and nicely toasted. The Mac and cheese was ok but had little sauce. I would not get it again. They are following all social distancing protocols and I felt comfortable eating in the patio. All that being said, we ordered a bunch of different items and unfortunately it didn't click with us. 1. Not a spot for vegetarians. They have something called Veggie Q which is mushrooms and onions in a smoked barbecue sauce in a bun. The bun is too thin and the entire sandwich gets soggy almost immediately. The taste was average as well. 2. Ribs were OK 3. Brisket is one of their strong items and would recommend to try. 4. Corn bread was VERY dry 5. Queso and chips was good 6. Mac n cheese was standard Once again, it didn't wow me and everything was just about okay. Delicious meal! We both ordered the ribs and they were some of the best ribs we've ever had. They were moist and flavorful with a wonderful rub. They're not swimming in sauce. I'm fact all of the sauce is on the side. They didn't even need the sauce but I will say that the BBQ sauce was delicious too (I think we had the mild, it still had a little kick). We ordered collard greens and the rice and beans and both were very good! I like a little more vinegar in my collards, but that's just a matter of taste. We sat on the patio, it was very nice. Stopped in on Cinco De Mayo with a some friends and family. My cousin has been raving about their brisket and I had to check it out. Had no clue what to expect, but I really enjoyed the ambiance. As we approached the building I could see the giant woodpile and smell the appealing aroma of rolling smoke. There were specials listed for the weekend and bc of Cinco de Mayo they had frozen mint julips The julips were too good, I could have drank them all day! Their special was 3 pork tacos for $5, hard to find a deal like that. However, I wanted to try brisket, so they didn't give me a hard time, just charged and extra dollar and made a happy customer. The BBQ came out within 3-5 min and looked mouth watering. Flour tortillas, with a strip of brisket topped with jalapeno, pickled red onion, cilantro and Mexican cheese A spicy and savory flavor combo that was truly satisfying! Every time we're visiting Cincinnati, we dine at a Yelp recommended Bbque restaurant. We've enjoyed some fantastic food at these locations, but Lucius Q was not one. Husband and I ordered the Farm ($50) - wings, tips, turkey, pulled pork and 2 sides on NYE day. The wings were so badly burned that we discarded them immediately. The turkey and pulled pork were average - edible - unlike the wings - but similar to any national chain. The tips weren't for us - mostly fat and without the thick sauce we enjoy on ribs. The pros for us- red beans and rice and the tasty bbque sauce. We chose the hot one! read more

The space is 100% awesome. The look and feel of the place are fantastic. You order at the "counter," then move down the the Order Pick Up station that has sauces (all of which are pretty good), also plasticware, and don't forget a Wet Nap! The bun was a little bready, but the sandwich was good over all. My friend took his brisket off the sandwich roll and ate it alone, said it was really good. Here we go: all of the sides are $4 each. I got the Grits. They weren't described as anything more than grits, and apparently they weren't. Very bland, plus mushy yet under cooked, weird. Mostly the thing that honked me off on the $4 sides was their size! Just a small paper dish with a scoop or so! I'll upload a photo. Also, at that price point, I was hesitant to get more than one side. I couldn't really justify $8 for two sides, and especially not $12 for three!! They really need to look at that.
