I'm not a nyc style pizza girl, but this was really good. I ordered a slice to take home to my hotel if you're from out of town or not familiar with the area, don't come in there with a big purse or something expecting to sit down. Your bag will be on the floor. There's maybe 3 seats MAX and people constantly coming in and out. That's a normal thing, but definitely something to prepare for! I only had my phone so I was good! People were super nice! read more

My wife thought the pizza at Lucia was tasteless and did not deserve a single star. She said it was as bad as Dominos. I thought it was a good old school pizza. Not the best anywhere but a pretty good pizza to have, when it is around, but not good enough to go out of the way. One huge negative was that even after the pizza cooled, the cheese would not stick to the pizza. It would come right off and extra effort had to be made to keep it from coming off the slice in a clump. Not a good characteristic of a NY pizza. Above the protests of Karen, I am giving Lucia three stars. Usually we agree on such things. She accused me of losing my taste as I am crazy to think that it tasted good. I knew that there would be no room to eat in, so I took it across the street to the Chinese food court in the World Mall. We had plenty of room to eat it there. There is also a bathroom there. read more

I really wanted to like this place. We used to order from sals pizzeria but they haven't picked up the phone in months. Ordered pizza twice from here. First time: large pie Came absolutely ICE cold. Which was annoying because we had guests and we had to turn on the oven to heat the pie up. Pizza tasted okay. I ordered through Uber eats and the delivery guy was horrible. Pizza was delivered without a case and the delivery guy rang our bell like a madman. He just kept ringing and ringing and ringing! This got my husband incredibly angry and to be honest me too. We live in a duplex not an apartment building so it was only seconds until I reached the door. Second time ordering: large pizza, chicken parmesan. Again the pizza came ice cold but the day was too hot to turn the oven on. Chicken parmesan was the skinniest chicken hero and cold. Husband didnt really care for the sauce and the chicken was dry. delivery guy called me and told me he was outside. Not true. He completed the job in uber eats so I couldn't even track him and he called me lost. After about 15 mins trying to get him to give me a location so I could help him I finally got my cold order. I see the better reviews are from people who eat in so maybe that would make it better but I was really disappointed with Lucia's twice. We dont think we'll be coming here again read more

Very unresponsive to phone calls. Food is okay, but they are way more responsive if you go to them in person rather than over the phone. They kept us on hold for over ten minutes and never responded to us. read more

Best pizza in Flushing! Been coming here for the past 30 years and it tastes exactly the same.

As a native NY guy I can say with some authority that Lucia is a classic. Love their House Pie. It has all the elements of a well made, perfectly baked pizza. Also nowhere better for a quick slice. You may turn around and order another. Love that they stick with the basics. You won't find rows of pizzas with chicken and ranch dressing toppings or the like. Warning: Do not order through delivery services like Postmates etc. Order directly. Last delivery was so bad it was almost comical. I saw the icon of my delivery go forward then go back several times. Sometimes moving in circles. When the pizza came with all the cheese pooled in one corner of the soggy box I realized that these maneuvers were due to dropping and retrieving the pizza he was trying to balance on the handle bars of his bicycle. read more

I've eaten the pizza from the spot on Roosevelt for years. So when this opened I was happy to order from it figuring it would be the same. Man was I wrong, had to be one of the worst pizzas I've ever gotten. I ordered a half meatball/half plain pie. When I first opened the box something smelt off, but I went and ate one of the plain slices, not that bad, not what I'm used to from other one though. So I went and grabbed one of the meatball slices, I took two bites and the rest of the pie went into the trash. It was like the meatballs were sour or something. Immediately turned me off. I hate to say it but I'll never be ordering from here again. read more

Lucia in the sky with diamonds. Literally, because if you look up to the skies from Lucia, you will see jet plane after jet plane thundering over your head, about to land at nearby LaGuardia. Downtown Flushing is directly on the flight path for the airport, which makes it a pretty amazing and dramatic place to hang out. This pizza did nothing for me. I was teetering between a 3 and a 4, but since it's got such high ratings I have to say it's more like a 3. It was a pretty standard slice, the kind I'd expect to find on the streets of Boston or DC. Large and greasy, saucy and cheesy, piping hot and it will burn your mouth, a little floury, but in the end, really nothing too spectacularly special, and nothing I'd get again in a city with gems like Luigi's on 5th in Brooklyn and the amazing Garlic Bread Pizza at Sunnyside in Queens. read more

Been a really long time since I had Lucia but after going to the gym and only a short time before my doctor's appointment I decided to grab a slice to hold me over. Haven't been here in years and still as good as I remember. This place is super basic. There's not much space. Right hand side is the counter where you order and on the left hand side is a small counter with chairs where you can eat. $2.50 for a cheese slice that definitely hits the spot. Crust is just thin enough and it's nice and cheesy and saucy. A bit messy but definitely what you think of when you look for New York pizza. read more

I was in search for thin crust pizza in my neighborhood and then I came across Lucia.. And good thing Lucia PIzza has it!!! Maybe it isn't the best pizza in NY as per Ju L, but it is pretty good in Flushing. And Lucia definitely satisfies my pizza craving. ***A plain slice please!*** =) Tip: I'd skip on the garlic knots. They use garlic powder instead of real diced garlic. read more

This place is pretty legit if you just want a slice of plain cheese pizza. Pretty decent slice size and the pizza has a good amount of cheese. Crust texture and tomato sauce was on point. Only drawback that gets me from not coming back as often as I would like would be the price. May be I got spoiled by those $1 slice of cheese pizza in Manhattan from 2 Bros since its not that much better. Hard to rate this place for service since it seems to be a fast pace ordering style pizza joint so speak up with your order or you will be forgotten. read more

Finally got a taste of the neighborhood pizzeria and it does speak for its long standing in downtown Flushing. Every time when I walk by the store, it is always busy and it serves as a great alternative for people who crave for something other than Chinese or Korean. The price tag is very reasonable for both slices and pies. And for only $2.75, you get a slice of the very classic and humble NY cheese pizza. The significance of the pizzeria is way beyond a pizza shop, but serving the neighborhood, especially for those who are less fortunate to have a delicious hot meal. I had to order the classic cheese pizza for my first try. It took a while to wait as they were busy as usual and the pies are made to order. The crust was amazing, so crispy, yet still got some chews. I liked the flavor of the sauce, though it was a little bit on the saltier side, but tasted fresh. I wish it was saucier that could provide more moist to the pie and bring more acidity to cut down the richness of the overloaded cheese. But overall, it was a satisfying pizza dinner. As the previous Yelpers pointed out, it is conveniently located by the subway station and it is the only pizzeria on that part of Roosevelt, so you can't miss it. read more

Had the cheese slice, brought back childhood memories of how a pizza slice should be, perfect ratio of sauce to cheese, dripping oil onto the paper plate and the crust could stand on it's on. Small place with a counter and a few stools for eating in. I'm glad this neighborhood pizza place is still carrying on the traditional old style pizza slice, no Kung Pao chicken toppings, no pineapple, just good flavorful tomato sauce and quality cheese, I'll be back read more

Pizza tastes AMAZING! Wonderful and friendly service! I have been eating there twice so far and it's really good! Definitely coming back again for a slice or two! :) read more

I dropped by on my way home for a large pie to go on a Friday night. The place was packed. The guy that handles the money told it would take 20 min, ok fine I will pay and come back since i want to support local businesses. Does he want to take my phone number and name or something? He says no need, and then scribbled something on a piece of paper and handed it to me. I roamed around and returned 25-30 minutes with the said paper. I don't see any large boxes, where's my pizza? What pizza? Oh, they forgot to put my order in, they will make it now. I wasn't going to wait another half hour! I got an apology & "we're busy you know". I guess I should have called in my order in hindsight, I m a reasonable person. But if I didnt request for some confirmation on a piece of paper, I wonder if I would have still gotten a refund? They need to get a better system, especially if want to compete with [another local pizza joint]. Disappointed i didnt get my pizza, i got my food elsewhere since i was in flushing. BTW, the paper says "large pie paid". read more

This may very well be the best slice of pizza in Queens. It's thin crust topped with a slightly sweet sauce and not an overabundance of cheese. I usually order a house pie to go and it's always right on the money. I prefer my slices with red pepper flakes and oregano. This place keeps the slices coming so nothing sits around. Seeing as how this is Flushing, Queens, you do have some street parking and municipal parking lot around the corner. read more

I gave a 1 due to them not enfocing social dstances rules. The elderly gentleman has a snot catcher as a mask as he wears below his noise. He also handles money ad hands off thr pozza. Lucia is an institution for this community. You'll see it absolutely bustling any time after five or on the weekend, but for very good reason! This is where I take my out-of-town family any time they miss genuine New York pizza. The pizza is as fresh as possible (literally made in front of you) with quality ingredients. The staff is impeccably efficient and friendly. Order a (huge) house pie for home like we usually do, or try any of their popular side items like the beef patty! I've even heard them customize a slice or two every which way for customers, like for crispy crust or "not too hot." You can't go wrong here, in short. Once you order Lucia, though, you might have trouble tolerating anything less. read more

1st time getting pizza from this place & definitely not the last. The pizza is great! I'd appreciate more cheese but I loved the plain slice & the veggie slice as well. I got mushroom & Olives as toppings. Like most places, they charge per topping. A large pie is $18. read more

Great NYC pizza. Had a square, 2 slices, calzone and drinks. This is what a pizza should taste like. I've had some good pizza outside of N.Y.but it always was missing something. I don't know what it is. Dough, sauce, cheese, water, something makes the different. I was going to Lombardi, which was rated high. This place rated higher. And probably cheaper. Don't pass this place up. Small, elbow to elbow place which is packed most of the time. Typical pizza from my childhood 50 years ago. Thanks. I highly recommend. read more

Favorite Pizza in Queens New York. Love their cheese pizza with a cup of fruit punch :) My child hood Pizza spot.

It was good. A lot of cheese and semi-sweet sauce. I like my crust crispy, this was a little bit on the soft side.

Yes yes yes!! Don't need to go that far for good and simple pizza! This place is really good and fresh pizza! Cashier was nice here I always like mushrooms and cheese read more

Good pizza but the man at the front who's in charge of taking care of orders, money, delivering food and drinks is straight up rude. I'm not trying to say he was being racist or anything but I can't help to think that he is. So, when I entered the store there was one customer that was ordering and then some customers came in and he decided to take their order. He skipped me completely when he knew I was in the store first and waiting to tell him the order. He literally straight up ignored me and I felt so offended at that time. He even had the audacity to yell at me saying, "OK, CAN YOU WAIT?" like chill, was just telling you I wanted an regular slice since you fucking skipped me after all the customers that you decided to acknowledge. So moral of the story, IF YOU ARE ASIAN OR ASIAN WHOS SMALL/YOUNG you will get ignored Bc of how you look. Would I come back?? Yes, but not anytime soon. MANAGEMENT - learn how to be respectful to all type of customers. read more

I've been going to Lucia since before I knew its name. As a little kid, I would go to summer enrichment classes around the block. The pizza is always fresh and always piping hot. It's very similar to Amore, with regards to being thin and cheesy, but Lucia's sauce is not as sweet. I still consider Amore number 1, but Lucia is a close 1a. read more

If you want to be lied to and wait almost 2 hours for a basic pie this is your place. After waiting almost an hour, i called for a status update and they said the pie was on the way. Never showed up. Second call: now they say we need to wait 30 more minutes because they are backed up and refused accept they lied during the first call. We asked for the order to be cancelled and they refused. We had uber eats call them, they told uber eats the pizza left and would be here in 5 minutes. We live 8 minutes away and 25 minutes later still no pizza. We had uber eats call them again and this time the liars told uber that we had cancelled the order and clearly they could see we had not. Honesty gets you further. The truth from the beginning would have received a better response but im never ordering from this hole again. Ive waited longer at better places that dont pathologically lie. read more

The BEST pizza in queens! This hole in the wall has been packed with customers since I could remember at 3 years old, I'm 25 now. My pizza partner and I shared a wonderful slice from here. We got the special for $5, which allowed us to pile on five toppings. On a very short trip to NYC, I wanted to notch off a bucket list item and have a slice of real, thin crust, New York pizza. So I scoured Yelp to find the perfect place, and landed at Lucia Pizza. It was amazing! Crisp crust, great sauce, flavorful cheese, generous toppings, and lots of oil...just the way it should be! I had pepperoni and brought hubby who was back at the hotel a sausage slice. He almost didn't get it because I was dying to eat it lol. Price was right at about $3.50 a slice. There's really no seating to speak of so I ate mine outside. Great experience! read more

I grew up eating here but it was never my favorite area spot. I have some fond memeories of chatting with the owner, of watching the Flushing Pimp (RIP) strut by with his cane while I munched. The sauce and cheese are top notch. I love me a saucy slice and they nail the flavor. But the crust has always been on the limp and soggy side. Not completely, but the first half off the slice is always hard to eat due to it's flopping about, the second half holds up better, but I've still never had that perfect thin slice chew. I mainly stopped in again for sauce and nostalgia. The place is super tiny and always packed; I ate in the alley to the left on a plant dividier that had the least amount of bird shit on it. This is what a good plain NY slice should be! Lucia is an old favorite. Having been fed off Lucia through high school and college, every time I drop by it's exactly how I remember it from years ago.
