This was my first visit to this location! I've been to the Pearland one. This complex can get full with parking but it wasn't too bad for a weekday around 11 am. I like the cozy & chic coffee vibe with the world map mural! There was a consistent line of customers. The staff were welcoming and quick to make my drink order. I picked up a gift card and a bag of their house blend Pan Pacificopeia as a gift for my sis-in-law who always stops by this location when visiting Htown. I really like iced Black Island! It isn't sweet but easily still taste the Pandan! I definitely recommend!

Very yummy iced coffee concoctions! I love that their drinks are unique and carefully curated. I do think it takes a few tries to find your type of drink here, but once you do you'll be hooked! My favorite is the iced island latte- vanilla and coconut. The flavor is almost nutty, and compliments the coffee perfectly without being too sweet.

Can you please open one in Dallas??????? Holy moly, best coffee I've ever had. So smooth and perfectly sweet! The coconut and pandan is a really good combo for sure. People working there coulda been a little more smiley but I'm sure they were tired when we got there around 11am. I saw they have multiple locations, this was small with a small parking lot. I will dream about this coffee!

Had a nice visit to Luce recently and was really happy with the new drink I tried. I got their Spanish latte which as I was told is their take on a Vietnamese latte and it's very strong and sweet. Which is perfect for me! It was so good I drank it way too fast. They have very kind employees and it looked generally clean! There was not a ton of seating but enough and a few tables outside that we chose to sit at. It's in a shared shopping strip so there isn't a ton of parking. Hope to visit again soon!

During my trip to Houston, I was determined to try coffee places that were different from the ones we had at home. Then I found Luce Ave Coffee Roasters on Yelp! Charcoal latte? I'll give it a go! I decided to get their Black Island which had charcoal powder, pandan, shots, and coconut milk while my friends got a Strawberry Vanilla Luccino, which was an ice blended drink. The Black Island is a pretty good drink overall. I don't particularly taste too much coffee or pandan in the drink. Maybe the charcoal kind of muted the taste of the coffee? The pandan just blended in tasting like vanilla to be honest. The good thing is that the coffee wasn't too sweet or anything like that. My friends really liked the Strawberry Vanilla Luccino but they did say that there was a ton of sugar in the drink. So if you're sugar conscious, maybe see if you could get this at less sweet. Overall, I liked my drink but I would've liked it with more coffee flavor. Maybe an extra shot would work better. I wouldn't mind coming back when I visit Houston again!

Loved this spot in Houston! Came 2 days in a row based on how balanced the coffee blended in with the flavors of the lattes I got. I first tried the island latte (pandan flavors) and LOVED IT. The next day i did the Spanish latte and really liked that one too. Service was great and the spot seemed like a chill place to meet up with people, do some work or just relax. Can't wait to drop by again next time im in town.

    Black Forest and Luce Bloom

I stopped by Luce Coffee Roasters with my sister while visiting Houston-- it's a really cute shop with clean decor, friendly staff, and bathrooms that were clean. Their Black Label menu immediately caught my eye. As a matcha lover (and admittedly a bit of a matcha snob), I was excited to try something different and went with the Black Forest -- a matcha and charcoal combo that sounded promising. I asked about sweetness levels since I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks, and was told the matcha is pre-mixed with sugar, so making it less sweet would mean using less matcha. At that point, I had a feeling it wouldn't be for me, but I committed anyway. Unfortunately, the drink was exactly what I was hoping to avoid -- beautifully presented, but overwhelmingly sweet and lacking that signature matcha flavor. My sister ordered the Luce Bloom (a honey lavender oat milk latte) and a brisket taco. She loved the taco but said her drink had way too much lavender and was also too sweet for her taste. Overall, Luce is a cool spot to try if you're in the area -- the vibe is welcoming and the space is cute -- but I wouldn't come here for a high-quality matcha experience. I might return to try something else (I saw some herbal teas on the menu) , but next time, I'll definitely steer clear of the matcha.

My favorite coffee from here that I always order is the Island latte. The baristas make it super fast and are always friendly. I like that the sweetness of the pandan balances the coffee and the pandan part itself tastes really good. It makes me want to make it myself to save my wallet Great study space if you need to do some work here.

So I actually came here to try a drink rather than find a spot to work. Walking in, this is a rather small coffee shop so if you do want to work here, you may want to get in early and secure a work space. Service was quick and friendly and I got the black island latte. I thought it was a really good drink and looked really cool, prior to me mixing it. The coconut pandan milk had a light green hue which looked nice against the charcoal coffee. Flavorwise, it was a nice mix of coconut and coffee with a hint of pandan. It had a pleasant amount of sweetness and probably one of the better lattes I've had in the city. Again, caveat that I'm not a huge coffee drinker so I can't actually speak much for the quality of coffee.

The pandan coffee (Island latte) was decent--nothing bad, but nothing special either. The service was friendly, but the seating options were limited, and many, including the couch, were unclean and had crumbs. On the plus side, there are outlets available. I'll have to try some other drinks to get a better picture to update my rating.

This coffee shop never disappoints. Located in the greenway/richmond area, this little oasis offers classics as well as a variety of signature drinks. The space is inviting with quaint patio seating. The entryway has live plants, which I personally love. The interior space is deceptively large with a bar/kitchen area, cool murals and decor, a merch section, and a long narrow hallway for seating The staff is very personable and professional. They greeted me, never made me feel rushed as I ordered, asked me how I would prefer my order (hod vs iced drink and if I wanted my baked item warmed up). It was quick service Some tips: Try their activated charcoal drink options. They not only provide you with the typical activated charcoal benefits, but they also look so cool. I would also try the glazed lemon poppy seed muffin. It's hearty and not overly sweet Cheers!!

This coffee was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch and the ambiance was very relaxing. Will definitely be visiting here again!

    Latte with simple syrup
    Darian C.

I tried the latte with simple syrup and the island latte which was really good. I usually don't like coconut flavors in my drinks but it was not too overpowering while still being able to taste it. The store is so cute, the workers were nice, the drinks came out fast, but there wasn't that much seating.

Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.

The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip!
