Served Iced) - I think their description of "fresh and crisp" was very accurate. I think the cinnamon complimented the matcha well. I wouldn't have thought to put apple cinnamon with matcha. It's feels like matcha meets autumn to me. It's fun I like it. - The Snapshot (A craft coffee float, with house made Esplanade coffee cola and custom black cherry ice cream from Cheaters Creamery. Served in house only and Iced.) - I was expecting something like an affogato when we ordered the drink for some reason but it definitely more of a coke float. They nailed it honestly. I didn't taste any coffee flavor in the few sips I had but my boyfriend said he was able to taste it. The drink comes with a fun Polaroid photo which is fun. Honestly a very unique retro summer vibe drink. - Breakfast Burrito - Honestly pretty decent. - Nutella Banana Bread - Unfortunately their oven was down so we couldn't get it toasted/warm but I think that would've been significantly better. It satisfied my craving. Definitely would consider coming back to try other fun seasonal drinks. In terms of seating, they have a large table in the front of the store, a few seats along the window that is more counter style, and a few tables in the back. From what I saw it looks like they had a decent amount of outlets and USB plugs available. Parking lot is pretty small though. They share a parking lot with a pottery studio and a little clothing store (that's also connected to the coffee shop). Not sure what the street parking situation is. They had lots of signature matcha and espresso drinks to choose from, and an impressive selection of beans and baked goods you could buy as well. Just keep in mind that they pride themselves on their unique drinks so they don't allow any substitutions for their signature drinks because they want you to try it as is. The Keepsake was a cold brew shandy with esplanade and Valencia orange. It almost didn't taste like coffee to me since it had a strong fruity taste with a citrusy cold foam on top, which made it a sweet treat for the summer. The Chantilly was creamy and sweet --it's a cold brew with cognac cream and black lava salt. They had lots of tables indoors for seating, although it does get crowded during peak hours. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon while I had downtime and saw a medium sized line and two baristas quickly making the queue's drinks. We found street parking after seeing the parking lot was full, but saw that there were plenty of seats available inside (so it looks like people come here for takeout coffee a lot). We got the Chantilly, which has a delicious cold foam over a smooth flash brewed cold brew, and the Red Herring from the new seasonal detective menu, which kind of tastes like if coffee was also a Diet Coke (really interesting!). I got a brown sugar latte and it was delicious, the temperature was just right and just the right amount of sweetness. The bathroom is clean, but unfortunately there is only one, I spent a lot of time in there and the sound was not super loud, but I would definitely recommend bringing headphones. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this shop. Super laid back vibes. A cozy spot to visit for a cup of coffee and a small bite. Although I didn't try any of the food options, what I saw nearby patrons eating, looked quite delicious. The seasonal coffee I tried? Yummy! It came with a small piece of cheese you were to eat while sipping the coffee. Nice compliment to the taste of the coffee. Saw this place on Instagram and couldn't wait to try it out! The seasonal menu offerings were creative--I had the Smoking Gun, which is a hot latte with rosemary and bacon and my husband had the Femme Fatale which is something called a sprocktail? that basically looks like a cocktail but has espresso and clarified milk. Both drinks were delicious, though the sprocktail felt like more of a cocktail vibe than a latte, so keep that in mind. The drinks were fast despite the enormous line and amount of customers. The place itself was a little small, but we were able to find a table that was able to fit us and our toddler with room for the Uppababy to park as well. The coffeeshop is connected to a few other cool shops (definitely check out Tadaima next door) and has a gorgeous patio area that we didn't notice until we were leaving. One of the most consistent, unique, and one of my favorite coffee shops in the city! My goto here is the Chantilly, a coldbrew iced topped with a fluffy cognac cream with black lava salt. Its one of my favorite drinks in the city and has me hooked in coming back. The perfect blend that is always available! They also have a unqiue seasonal drink menus that rotates out every few months. Probably the most interesting menu compared to other coffee roasters. Pictured in this review as well is the "blooming hour" - An iced matcha Sprocktail made with a blend of flowers, grapefruit, and white balsamic, topped with a sweet and salty grapefruit zest rim and a fresh pansy. (Immediately spilled some upon picking it up ) Another example of a unique drink is from their summer menu, they had a coconut sesame rice milk matcha with mango puree topped with mango glazed coconut sesame rice cereal. Last example is the bacchus, a shaken espresso with black peppercorn cabernet, tart cherry juice, and fresh cracked black pepper and dried tart cherries. All of these are a mouthful right? I've throughly enjoyed their unqiue drinks over the last year as I believe theyre experimented the most out of all the coffee roasters I've visited. They usually follow some different themes like Alice in Wonderland, summer paradise refreshing type drinks, winter wonderland drinks with peppermint candy cane on the side and more. While theyre definitely on the higher side price of coffee, they offer a unique experience for coffee lovers. Inside, there are bar type settings, a lovely nook with low tables and seats, and a patio outside when the weather gets cooler. Ideal for catching up with friends, or reading a book/ journaling. Finally got the chance to come back here to try their coffee! The only downside was I never received my coffee despite paying. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was getting busier. I heard them call out my drink so I walked up to the counter to get it, but the staff told me it wasn't mines. I asked for an estimate & he said it's coming soon. I waited a couple more minutes and still no drink. My husband decided to go up and ask for me since I was browsing in the store connected to the cafe. Turns out, they never received my order on their machine even though I paid and everything. The barista was able to whip my drink up really quickly. I just don't understand why my order didn't go through and I was told to just wait. I love this coffee shop! Trendy, friendly, and creative. Luckily, they offer plenty of seating because it was packed on a late Saturday afternoon. They have a rotating menu of specialty drinks that remind me of craft cocktails. I was gifted some of their coffee beans for Christmas and their decaf is the absolute best that I have ever tasted. I have only ever gotten the Chantilly and haven't strayed #loyal it's truly so good. but I have tried the mango sticky rice matcha, good but def pricy. The staff here are awesome and I am always chatty with them. It's typically busy so get friendly...I enjoy the community tables, or I'll snag a window seat. Patrons are friendly, most of us are there individually working. I wouldn't necessarily come here with a big group. I visited on a Saturday morning and ordered a classic flat white ($4.50) and my friend ordered a chocolate croissant. I didn't think the espresso notes were as strong in this drink because it tasted like there was more milk than a typical flat white. The drink was OK, warm, not particularly too hot when I received the drink. My friend said the croissant was dry. The ambiance of the space was excellent - lots of plants and natural sunlight and I loved that they opened the doors to let in some air because it was a beautiful day. I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place- it's awesome! I tried it earlier this year and fell in love. I like the vibes, the coziness, and the staff is always so sweet. My go to is The Chantilly. The coffee is perfectly strong and the cream is both salty and sweet. It's the perfect drink for any day. The shop is also connected to Tadaima which is a Japanese clothing store. Their stuff is amazing and we love grabbing a drink and then shopping around the store. I merely stopped by in a last ditch effort to have some coffee in the heights of Houston, but left with the pleasant realization of the best cold brew I've had in a LONG time. This place gives off a nice vibe: clean, bright, and green. The service was more than adequate and our barista not only explained each seasonal drink, but also went out of her way to find us as we browsed the vintage shop next door. Their seasonal drinks rotate every month and they make the syrups in house. I would suggest trying some of the more unique ones because by the end of the month, we did not have a chance to try some of ones I wanted to such as the drinks using tamarind syrup. However, the chantilly cold brew was a drink that was going to be staying for the month after proving to be a fan favorite, so I decided to give it a shot. Wow, I normally never order any cold coffee but this one was great! It's clear that they put a lot of love into the foam and it incorporated nicely into the cold brew. Everyone I offered a sip to agreed that it was delicious and not too sweet. Great spot, definitely recommend but I would be careful of entering and exiting the lot due to the steep slope. read more

Absolutely loved it here! They also have a shop connected to it which is super cute. A friend and I came to do some work and we had a lovely experience. The WiFi was great and steady for us to work from here. The barista recommended some super delicious drinks and we also had a yummy empanada and loaf. The aesthetic and ambience of this place is super cute and casual. People seem to come here to work or just hang out with others. They have a decent amount of seating inside and an additional outside patio. They also have mugs, totes, and other coffee merch items for sale at the cafe. Stopped by with some friends on a Sunday morning, there was definitely a steady flow of people but we had no trouble finding a place to sit. I ordered the Vulcan, which is a latte with some sort of bourbon cinnamon smoked flavor. It was really great, one of the best specialty drinks I've had recently, and the sprinkle of black salt on top was the perfect touch. My friend got an iced matcha latte and said she was not impressed at all, but granted we are very particular about how we like our matcha lol. I really enjoyed my time visiting their newer brick and mortar location, which was expanded there in September 2024. They specialize on micro-lots and unique offerings. It was really nice to walk in and to hear baristas who really are enthusiastic about their coffees. I was able to try the drip coffee. They were taking a break from their regular beans (I believe it was the Pedro Gaspar) and were using Esmeralda Mendoza, Nicaraguan in origin and washed. What captivated me was that there were notes of Papaya, White Grape, and Plum. When I asked what the strongest notes were, she described that the White grape overpowers most of the other notes. This was definitely true of my cup. If I lingered on the sip, I could definitely taste the Papaya in the background, but the White Grape definitely was the most dominant. It was excellent! I would love to come back and try the San Antonio, which I think was used in their espresso and has notes of caramel, milk chocolate, and Oreo cream. Otherwise, definitely check out this local roaster. Very nice and cozy ambience to study or to catch up with friends over a flat white or an espresso. The baristas are also very personable and know their clients (she greeted the person who came after me by his first name). On nice days, there is additional seating in the patio. read more

This place has been on my list to try and finally made it out to the heights to try it! I was not disappointed, the matcha was very good and not too grassy but definitely had a strong matcha flavor. I got the orchard matcha and it was good! The syrup tasted like apples but it was a bit diluted after mixing it up with the matcha of course. I would rate this 5 stars if the drink itself wasn't $10 for a size this small. I guess I should expect this price at these coffee places nowadays. The space is a little small so not too much room for seating I would say compared to other coffee shops but room for a few seats. Not a coffee review. Judge me. LOL. After lunch on a dreary, cold Saturday afternoon, my friend wanted coffee. Using Yelp, to find a coffee place close to my house (again I do not drink coffee), this place popped up. It is in the Asch building. The lot is small so if you drive, be prepared to street park. It was relatively busy for a Saturday afternoon. When we walked, there were people seated throughout the place and a few people waiting for orders. We waited for a few minutes while barista #1 who was at the register started assisting the barista # 2 with making orders. There is a small menu on the counter. Friend ordered a cafe latte and I had the hot chocolate. Barista # 2 started working on our order after a few minutes while barista # 1 went back to taking orders (by this time there was over 10 people in line.) The staff and overall feel of the place was nice. It opens up into a neighboring business which looked like a retail type shop. There were a few tables scattered about and a lot of bar type seating (single seating). The hot chocolate was standard but a bit disappointing because it was not hot at all. I had to go home and warm it up. Since I'm not a coffee drinker, the truth is I probably won't frequent this place but it seemed very popular. And everyone there seemed happy. read more

Sadly though, the matcha that was made for me did not come out the same shade of green as the drink I saw :/. Upon trying it, I also could not taste the matcha at all -- it only tasted like sweetened almond milk, so for almost $9 a cup, it was definitely not worth it. I had to toss my drink because it was not enjoyable. My mom and sister did enjoy their coffees though, and the interior was very aesthetic, so I'll give them 3 stars, and try a coffee instead next time if I do stop by. read more

I got duped! I'm not a coffee connoisseur, and should've spoken up, but I ordered a caramel iced latte which I normally get from here. And for about the same price the barista, Lilly, suggested I get a flat white instead and she mentioned it had less milk but the same amount of espresso. I probably should have questioned that, so that's on me. I'm used to a flat white having an extra shot of espresso, hence less milk. But for the same price, and tastes the same as the regular iced caramel latte I get often, I got this mini baby cup.
