This is one of my go-to spots for matcha, refreshers, and coffee (right up there with Anonymous Next Door). The drinks are consistently amazing, which is why I keep coming back. The only issue is the drive-thru setup. There's no clear signage indicating where vehicles should enter, especially during busy morning hours. I've seen multiple situations where drivers get frustrated because it looks like someone "cut" in front of them, when they may not have realized someone was already waiting. Clear directional signs would really help prevent confusion and annoyance. Inside, the space feels a bit plain. Adding a few plants or warmer décor touches could elevate the space. That said, the quality of the drinks keeps me coming back. Staff is nice. read more

Waygood Coffee serves a solid latte. Mine was well-balanced and flavorful without being overly sweet, which I appreciated. The biggest downside is the parking and traffic flow. While there is a drive-thru and a small parking lot, many of the parking spaces aren't realistically usable because cars waiting in the drive-thru can block them in. If you're visiting for the first time, skip entering from Kirby Drive. Most customers access the lot from the side street, so you may end up circling the block if you don't know the setup. The coffee itself was good enough that I'd recommend giving it a try, especially if you're using the drive-thru. However, the challenging parking and awkward lot logistics are the main reasons I may not return. read more

I have known about Waygood Coffee for at least a year, but had never stopped by until recently. This Inner Loop location is easiest to get to if you are traveling North on Kirby. At times, while passing by, it appeared closed, but according to posted business hours, Waygood does close rather early at 7 p.m. most days. It is open until 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, per Yelp. While running errands this past Saturday, I really wanted to try a Waygood Seaside Shakerato coffee, so I went through the drive thru and ordered a regular-sized drink. The Shakerato features espresso and vanilla bean syrup infused with sea salt essence. My drink was kind of on the pricey side, so I was surprised none of these flavors came through except for the espresso. The coffee also looked nothing like the photos of Seaside Shakeratos posted on the Waygood website or on the internet in general. In the photos, you usually see the espresso on the bottom and the milk or cream on top. Taste-wise, I would say it was good for a regular coffee, but I can also make one of those at home. But that's also not what I ordered. Parking is limited and not accessible to people going through drive thru, but if you want to go inside, though, parking is fairly easy. I will probably give Waygood another chance just because I like the concept and prefer to support more local coffee shops. The menu interests me, and other varieties of coffee like James Brown and Bee's Knees look promising. As I recall, the service here, communication-wise, was really good and positive. read more

Honestly, might be my new favorite coffee shop! They also have a drive thru which is very convenient. Service was nice and they have tons of drinks to decide on. This was THE PERFECT STUDYING ENVIRONMENT!! To start, the interior is very roomy and they have small tables and a very large table. There are also a few outlets and they have free wifi! Now the coffee, I've recently been hooked onto cinnamon in my coffee and I believe that this is the best cinnamon coffee I've had so far in Houston. It wasn't too milky or overly sweet. It tasted like a 'grown-up' version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk (with the coffee of course). The baristas are nice and drinks come out quick! They also have a drive thru. I had heard great things about this spot, and on one of my days off I decided to swing by and check it out From the outside you can't help double take at the trendy and vibrant exterior art/signage. The space is modern, and as you walk in it's fairly spacious with seating, well curated decor, and a comfortable vibe (good music at a good volume, and plenty of AC). There is a cozy yet tendy patio space as well The counter is immaculate and looks straight out of a magazine with beautiful light fixtures, hanging plants, and other art... yet not cluttered in the slightest. It was a nice touch that there is a well organized straw/napkin and complimentary water station. The WiFi password is also displayed behind the bar The menu is brightly displayed on 3 screens. Waygood has a variety of signature drinks (espresso, cold brew, and matcha adjacent) The staff were very busy with the drive thru orders, but I was greeted with a genuine smile. I also asked for some recommendations, and the staff was more than accommodating and helpful. My order came out in a timely manner (2 drinks in ~2min) The flavors are incredible, and the textures are smooth. I can't do it justice, but this has become one of my new go-to's If you're on the go, they have a speedy drive thru service, but it's also a great place to enjoy a cup inside. Surprisingly for the area there's also plenty of parking Some tips: I'm a sucker for coconut coffee, so, I recommend the Island Brew (cold brew). I also LOVE espresso, and the Waygood Latte was incredible. I am usually not a coffee drinker but after I tried a sip of my friend's drink, I knew I wanted to try it for myself. The waygood latte did not disappoint! I love that there is a sweetness to it while still tasting the coffee flavor. I love the creaminess that comes from the foam at the top. I enjoy sitting at their big table to do some work with my friends. Their music and ambiance is such a nice vibe! We got 3 drinks the blueberry chai, the pumpkin Matcha, and the strawberry Matcha. Out of the three the strawberry Matcha was my favorite personally and had the right amount of sweetness, and the flavor profile was good. I didn't really like the other two that much. My friend loved the pumpkin one, so definitely to each his own. My other friend chose the blueberry chai, personally, it was too sweet for me, but I see the vision. I like that this location has indoor seating and quite a bit of it. There is 1 big community table, then a few small group seating. It wasn't packed when I went but I went during the weekday mid morning. You'll also find plants inside that you can purchase. Tried their pumpkin spice latte hot. The weather is actually fallish for me to get a hot drink. Been on that iced coffee bus for a while because being pregnant in Houston heat is a killer. Also got the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. To minimize the carbs I took off the top bun. I want to indulge but not full on indulge. Hahaha. You can order as t the counter with a live person or on the ipad that they have next to the counter. They do have a seasonal menu so always different drinks to try out. Parking is small...the inside wasn't crowded at all but that lot was full. So we parked in the twin peaks lot. Love love love this relatively new gem in the Houston coffee shop scene. I was initially struck by their colorful exterior and was even more pleased by their interior including plants, locally sourced pottery, a cohesive color scheme, and wood slat accent wall. There is relatively scarce seating inside (1 long table and about 4 smaller circular tables), but the inside feels much more spacious this way. There is even a patio with outdoor seating. There are only 2 outlets easily accessible for those who are seated, as the other 2 outlets are somewhat blocked by the shelves of plants and pottery. Despite this, there is free wifi and music playing that would still allow for an amazing study session OR social hour! As a blended coffee connoisseur, I was extremely pleased that this cafe offers all of their Signature Coffees in iced, hot, and FROZEN! As a sweet tooth, I've tried the frozen James Brown (Housemade Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte) and frozen Waygood Latte (Housemade Caramel & Vanilla Bean syrup, topped w/ Cloud). James Brown offered a unique blend of flavors, while the Waygood Latte offered my familiar comforting taste of a caramel frappuccino (except done VERY WELL). Extra tidbits: They have free but limited parking around the perimeter of the building. There is also a drive thru option for those on the go! Bathroom requires code provided by employees to use. Great coffee and even better matcha! The only downside is that the service is on the slower side and it takes awhile to get through the drive through. This is the second time I've had Waygood and I definitely recommend it. They have prices that are worth the quality of drink you receive. The first time I had an iced James Brown, and it tasted like an iced brown shaken espresso from Starbucks but better quality and flavor. This time I ordered a strawberry fields matcha and it lived up to the hype. It's got an earthy taste to it so you can tell they source good matcha. read more

I ordered and picked up my drinks via their drive thur and it was clean and free of trash. From what I can see from the outside, the inside is spacious, clean with colorful decor and sizable tables. I ordered their seasonal drink, Lady Matcha, which was matcha with earl grey and their house made lavender syrup at 50% sweetness, iced. It was filled to the top and very tasteful. It was the perfect balance of matcha and earl grey. Service was top notch, there was one car before me so there was no wait. I went through the drive thru so I can only speak to the to-go service, but the menu is easy to read and employees were friendly. I got the James Brown iced latte (brown sugar and cinnamon) with oat milk and loved it, can't wait to try more drinks! I'd like to come back and try some of their pastries too and check out the indoor and outdoor areas. My only disappointment was not getting a cup with their cute logo on it! I stopped by the drive thru on my way to help out my chef sister prepare for a huge event and I had to sub in as her Sous (some context- I don't cook for shi) and that coffee had me chopping it up like I just won a Michelin. I stopped by a couple weeks ago because I noticed a new coffee shop while driving. The interior is really cute and aesthetic and they even have a drive thru! I wanted to just go through the drive thru but I waited for a bit and no one answered lol so I went inside. The inside is very spacious and have a few tables and chairs. As for the drinks, I have been looking for my next go-to place for matcha. I was informed that the strawberry matcha that they have is really popular and the right amount of sweetness with strawberry puree at the bottom and fresh strawberries inside the cup. When I received my drink I was kind of disappointed that the "puree" was just a smudge, if that, on the side of the cup and the strawberries were just those freeze dried strawberries that starbucks uses for their refreshers. The taste of the matcha was just the taste of milk mixed with the freeze dried strawberry. I would not get this again. Overall, I think that this place is still fairly new and with some minor changes they would be a lot better. I didn't try their espresso drinks so maybe they are more promising than their strawberry matcha or other options! However, I do not think that I will be back to try anything else :( read more

This new coffee shop with a drive thru is a nice addition to the Upper Kirby area. The parking is scarce in its private lot, but there are a good amount of seats inside and on their patio. The interior is simple and plants are scattered on a few tables for sale. Its a neat place to grab a coffee or tea along with a snack (danishes, bagels, croissants, and more). There are a few spots to plug in a laptop or workstation for those who are looking to study/work. The menu includes a variety of seasonal drinks, coffee, matcha, chargers, refreshers, chai, frozen drinks, and even drinks for the kiddos or your puppy. The snack selection is basic but will satisfy a craving and pair well with any of their beverages. The past few times I made a visit, they had bagels, scones, muffins, danishes, and croissants available. I've never had an experience at their drive thru as I've only visited inside, but the service is a little lacking. To order at the counter, I had to wave down employees who were standing all in the back. I think it would be better to always have one person at the front counter to assist as needed. The drinks/food come out quite slow for a coffee shop that's not a very full house. The drinks we've had were tasty though, and while the blueberry danish I tried was pretty good, it wasn't amazing. Overall a nice concept and comfortable space to enjoy some drinks with friends. read more

I have passed by this place almost everyday and finally tried it yesterday. Whoever made my brown butter oat milk iced latte with pumpkin did an AMAZING job! It's one of the best lattes I have ever had and that is saying a lot because I drink a latte almost every morning. It is a little pricey with the regular size drink coming out to 8 dollars (75 cent up charge for oat milk), however, they do make their syrups in house so it's understandable. read more

New coffee shop that stands where bao shi yi once did. I know this location is their second, with the first one located in the burbs. I was excited to give them a shot. We came in mid afternoon for a caffeine pick me up. Plenty of parking available and they even have a drive through which is nice if you're in a hurry. Person at the counter was super nice and friendly - gave me "i'm the owner" vibes. I noticed the menu really featured their flavored drinks and matcha more than the classic espresso drinks, so I was drawn to order the waygood latte. The drink was too sweet for me - reminded me of a caramel macchiato from Starbucks. I can see people liking the drink, but not for me. Overall, it really reminded me of a Starbucks but local type place. I do know they use Greenway Coffee beans which is a good local roaster so maybe I would have enjoyed a classic espresso drink more. I came on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty empty. The interior is super cute and decorated with plants. I ordered a pumpkin matcha and a croissant, and my friend also ordered a lavender matcha and a bagel. My friend's drink came out first. I waited a bit and a croissant and two drinks came out for a couple who ordered after us. I assumed the croissant belonged to them so I did not grab it. I waited a total of 15 min or so and my drink as well as both of our food items still had not came out. I asked the employee who took our order that we had waited and if it would be ready soon and she said "oh" and walked back. A person who seemed to be a manager came over and asked what I was missing. I told her and she said they put out my croissant earlier and it was the last croissant. If that was my croissant I wasn't sure why it was gone lol (and if it was the last croissant and it happened to belong to the person behind me, then I'm not sure how I was going to get the croissant I ordered) I ended up switching to a bagel and I got my drink. The manager apologized and made sure our orders were correct and we got our food. The drink was really good and I loved the pumpkin flavor. I had a long day of studying ahead of me and some of my friends skipped class to get waygood coffee. I asked them to get me a waygood latte to try and this was probably the best decision I made the whole week. The waygood latte is one of their signature coffees. It's a caramel vanilla latte with cloud and I got it iced. I got the drink about 30 minutes after it was made and it was still perfectly good. It had the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Their foam was so good too. It was like a cloud and definitely enhanced the drink. I definitely recommend the waygood latte read more
