Is it me? Are my tastebuds injured?! This place came highly recommended by a few friends local to Brooklyn and the reviews I read backed their recommendations! Unfortunately the few items my gf and I shared were significantly underwhelming. Starting with the seared miso eggplant and the bbq seitan skewers. I couldn't stop thinking of Vienna sausage when I was eating the skewers. The consistency of the seitan reminded me of a gross NASCAR party my family attended in junior high. Try they sausage they said, you'll love it they said. Those things were almost as bad as the race that followed. Anyway, while the flavor wasn't bad it was too chewy and too rolly. Is rolly is even a thing? Lol. As for the eggplant, it wasn't bad but almost flavorless. I've had eggplant that has been seared deliciously in a soy glaze so i was excited for this dish! Unfortunately, it didn't impress. Although I have to to mention that the plating was beautiful. Next up we had the the summer rolls, miso soup and a seaweed salad. The rolls were with jicama mint, vermicelli noodles, mint, basil and carrot. I noticed that they neglected to have the vermicelli and basil so these things were, you guessed it...flavorless. The miso soup looked beautiful and was a generous portion but it tasted watered down. The seaweed salad was a very small portion, but was okay. So that was that. We left disappointed. Hold up, i forgot about the delicious mint tea! And guess what? It was actually flavorful. I guess you win some, you lose some, right? read more

I started frequenting the original Wild Ginger on Bedford in Williamsburg when I first moved to New York many years ago. While that restaurant is now closed, it's exciting to see that there are new locations. Luanne's improves on the flagship Wild Ginger with a cute back patio, very kind service and excellent cocktails. The citrus seitan is just as tasty as ever! read more

The food was delicious from appetizers to entrees. I came to this location on a Saturday with two of my best friends and loved the food. When we tried to order drinks we were told they didn't serve soft drinks on weekends, we weren't too thrilled about this since we didn't really want to drink any alcoholic beverages. When we got ready to pay, we checked our bill and noticed we were charged for two spring roll orders when we had only ordered one. It wasn't busy at all so we're not sure how this mistake was made. When we brought it to their attention they were very receptive and corrected our bill. I am not huge on vegan food but so far I've eaten here 3 times and I loved each time. My favorite dish is the garlic eggplant I literally stuff my face with it, it's super delicious. I also tried the Pho and it was super tasty, not usually a fan of tofu but I enjoyed my dish a lot. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Clinton Hill area. read more

I am not a vegetarian, but after too much meat and cheese, I tried this restaurant on a warm May afternoon. There are street tables in boxes, backyard tables and inside the building tables. We sit inside by the window, very airy and cool. The waitress is kind, taking time, polite and professional. My beer something like Monkey is not my type, bit yeasty. My kimuchi pumpkin gumbo is too sweet ( big chunks of pumpkin) for me, but tastes so healthy. Hijiki with edamame dish is good. Of corse hijiki( black tiny seaweed) is usually cooked with soy sauce and sugar in Japan, here it is more like salad. My companion's broccoli shiitake salad looks very fresh and serene. Overall they are less salt and very natural. Not really my kind of food, but once in a while they are refreshing. The interior is also peaceful and gives you calm effects. read more

oh. my. god. someone blow the confetti. this restaurant is amazing. in all my years of fine dining and boujee eating, my tongue has never grazed such exquisite food. first let me start with the service: the waitress dory delivered some of the best customer service and hospitality i've ever received. she was supper kind and was very funny. she also made me feel right at home. now to the food. have had some great ramen in my time at many different places but jeez does this hit different. the second the broth of the creamy ramen hit my mouth i felt like Anton Ego after eating ratatouille. to keep short, 5/5 doesn't do this place justice. if i could give a 6/5 or a 10/5 i would. definitely recommend to anyone. read more

This is an all vegan restaurant and as a vegetarian that's great because it means I can order anything on the menu. The dinner prices are a little high, I think general tsos soy for delivery is something like $18, however it's much cheaper during lunch and you get sides to go with your meal. I will say that the rice is not good and the side salad is also not so good; that and the high prices is why I give them four instead of five stars. The rice is super dry and flavorless to a point where I just didn't eat it. The general tsos soy is great! It's made with cut up soy patties instead of chunks of tofu so it's more filling. The sauce is really good but it's not very spicy at all. The black pepper soy wasn't really my taste, but I know others who really like it. The chocolate peanut butter cake is pretty darn good and the portions are very generous. The cake is a little dry, but not as much as you expect with vegan baked goods and the peanut butter mousse makes up for that. read more

I'd been meaning to try this place and when I saw they delivered to my area, I couldn't resist! I had the scallion pancakes and the pineapple fried rice. Both were delicious and left plenty of leftovers : ) they reheated well too. Coconut Tofu / Soy Dumplings / miso udon Quaint place w/ great flavorful vegan food. Would recommend getting the dumplings/potstickers pan fried instead of steamed, just to add a little texture and flavor. The miso udon was nice and hot, a little lite on the miso flavor but I'm a little biased towards deeper rich flavor. We came here by mistake after thinking we were getting an Uber to the Franklin Ave location. But thankfully this location is certified Kosher too. This location also has a beautiful backyard where we ate. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. I ordered the Miso Mushroom soup, General T'Soy's Protein and a Mint Lemonade. All the food was fantastic. I was told that the General T'Soy's Protein is their signature dish. And even though it was described on the menu as "fruity" (which is a taste I don't like) I ordered it because the waitress really recommended it. It turned out the dish wasn't too fruity. It was really good. It kind of reminded me of sweet and sour chicken. I really enjoyed it. I really recommend this restaurant or the Franklin location for a date night because it has the perfect atmosphere for a date. The restaurant is candle lit. The seating is beautiful and comfortable. The staff is polite, helpful and they let you take your time at the restaurant. And best of all the restaurant is pretty affordable. All entrées are under or around $15. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area! The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and it's a great way to get a fix for some Asian American comfort food- but vegan! My favorite mains are the General Tsoy's Protein and the Garlic Basil Eggplant, and you can't go wrong with any of their apps, but definitely try the king oyster mushrooms. I love the imagination and creativity of the menu. The many tastes and textures prove that vegan need not be dull. My favorite is the Kimchee and Pumpkin Gumbo: the mixture of raw and cooked, spicy and mild makes a wonderful meal. The sauce, however, is watery; it should be cooked down or made with less liquId. The house-made beverages and the sinfully rich desserts are also outstanding. I'm less enthusiastic about the "imitation" dishes, which rely heavily on "seitan medallions." Fried stuff arrives hot and crispy, salad stuff comes cold and crispy, nothing is over or under spiced. Seamless estimates delivery in 40 minutes but they're here in 10! I don't normally write reviews because I want to be a cool person that doesn't write Yelp reviews, but I had to say something about this amazing place. Absolutely delicious takes on typical East-Asian vegan fare. The coconut tofu was both hot and refreshing, the seitan was fried to perfection, and the bowls perfectly balance the flavors and quantities. I had an out of body experience while eating here. The patio was really nice, and as I astral projected, I could feel all the good vibes. The server Dory was incredibly nice and gave great recommendations, and made sure my journey to the fifth dimension was pleasant. I walked away with my belly and spirit full. read more

You get a free beverage with a yelp check-in. I ordered the General T'Soy's Protein. It came out really fast. The Soy was crispy, chewy, and chicken-like. The sauce was sweet with a hint of garlic and red chili. The broccoli was perfectly cooked but sparse. The side of brown rice was also good but very small. This is probably my favorite vegan spot. When I first started eating a plant-based diet, I craved meat a lot. This place helped me overcome that feeling over time. The stir fry dishes and bowls are awesome and they don't overload the food with a ton of salt. My favorite is the salt and pepper oyster mushrooms. I always INSIST that people try it. I did a takeout and the managers that were at the front counter were super friendly. Very delightful people. Now the food i am still daydreaming about it! Great menu full of options. They have a lot of different types of asian cuisine. My boyfriend and I were pretty satisfied with the food. Starting off, we both had to get the fried "chicken" tenders. This is something we usually order at (vegan) asian fusion restaurants. It honestly replicated the flavor & texture of fried chicken nuggets pretty perfectly. It's been a long time since I've had real meat, so to me, this was what I remember what chicken tastes like. My boyfriend is not a vegan, but he said this was delicious as well. I really liked the chili sauce that it came with, but my bf was not a huge fan. For entrees, we both ordered 2 different types of noodle dishes. My bf ordered the kimchi stir-fryed udon. This was packed with flavor & had a spicy kick to it. If you don't prefer spicy food I would pass on this. But if you can handle spicy food, give it a try! I ordered the pad thai noodles. I love pad thai, but to me, this didn't taste 100% like pad thai. I think the pad thai sauce was slightly off, and I wasn't a fan of the fake meat that they used in this. Unlike the kimchi udon, this was a little bit more bland. This was just okay to me, but I probably wouldn't order this again. For drinks we ordered a passionfruit tea & minty lemon tea. The food is always fresh and filling and we haven't had a dish we don't love yet (but the Seitan skewers stand out as a favorite). We usually order extra just so there's leftovers the next day. Such a lovely experience dining here with a friend of mine. They have backyard seating, as well as seating in front of the restaurant. If you're looking for a spot that doesn't have a wait list, or a crowded space.. This is it! We were greeted with hand sanitizer! Haha. The food was lovely, we got the nori wraps (both A and B) for apps and I got the Kimchi Udon noodles as my main while my friend got the General Tso's dish! Both delicious. Get to Luanne's wild ginger for lunch for the best deal ever on great vegan food! For only $10 you can choose between a variety of entrees and it comes with a spring roll and soup. The soup was tasty , and a good appetite opener for me. Seaweed and tofu in a Delicious broth . I had the sweet and sour protein , battered and fried served with fresh veggies and rice. My server was Velma! She was sweet and knew the menu well, she was able to make recommendations while being patient because I was a bit indecisive. For appetizers I tried the stuffed wontons! and the Mango scallion pancake , both amazing . There was one dessert option , peanut butter bomb cake. It was huge , rich and chocolatey , I didn't like it. I wouldn't get it again . With my check in , I received a free drink. (This place is alcohol free, and I like alcohol ) I chose the mint green iced tea. It was pretty refreshing . In all I enjoyed my meal , and I'll be back soon ! read more

Gonna simply bullet this from the mobile app to bang it out, since I just left: 1. Dirty glass 2. Blandest Thai Iced Tea I've ever had (and the most expensive) 3. Bland soup (miso with udon, and I didn't notice the black seaweed that was supposed to be in it. 4. Soup was listed on the menu at $12 and was billed $13. 5. When I pointed this out the server tried to assert that it was because I chose the udon (instead of the other two options), but the menu clearly states you can choose any of those three for $12. No upcharge is listed. 6. The server never apologized or tried to make it right. She simply stated that this is what the register charges for the item. Obviously this discrepancy should be resolved with a dollar off the bill, an apology, and the reassurance that the menu (or register) would be corrected ASAP. Basically she told me I could take it out of her tip. If this business does not want to correct an obvious, easy-to-fix problem, then it is intentionally misleading customers, and that is unethical. It may only be a dollar, but that doesn't matter. Knowingly ripping off your clientele is simply wrong. I won't be back and I'll be sure to share this experience with everyone I know who might consider dining here. read more
