Ive been meaning to try this place for the past 2 years so I was excited to finally eat there. It's a corner store on a busy road so gets a lot of foot traffic and its within walking distance to Barclays. Takeout review Price: $$ (burgers are $19-22) but its comes with seasoned fries (more on that below) and the burgers are HUGE Store: few seats in the back, otherwise takeout mostlly. they call you a "slut" upon entering and leaving (it's entertaining). Food: - Dancehall Burger- sounded interesting but the maduros were a miss. would have been better with avocado and bacon. the slut sauce made this burger. onions were grilled but not caramelized. overall it was a solid burger. - Hollywood Hooker: massive but kind of bland? the texture was spot on for a philly chopped sandwich. but no slut sauce :( get the burger - eggrolls: philly cheesesteak egg roll. it was popular. Solid choice. i couldnt tell it wasnt beef. i added sweet chilli sauce to it which added some spice. - Fries: one batch was hot, crunch, perfectly cooked and had great seasonings. the other batch was soggy and was likely sitting out. if you get the fries fresh its worth it. Service: - Order on kiosks - Trainwreck. online order and suprised when it was ready within 4 minutes. Within 20 minutes I was in the store. 3 people + 2 food delivery drivers waiting. 2 workers - one was cooking while the other disappeared to get supplies / take out the trash. 10 minutes go by- no one gets food. 15 minutes. 1 delivery driver gets food. more people enter - delivery drivers + customers. Only 1 was greeted and told it would be a wait. 20 minutes. no food. The second workers comes back and helps with orders. finally 3 orders come out for in person orders only. 30 minutes, I ask for an update. 5 mintues later I get my food. total time was around 50 minutes not 4 minutes. I would recommend trying it for a good vegan burger and if you have an hour to wait. if you need a quick order or are rushing to catch a concert, show, or game at Barclays I would avoid. First time going to Slutty Vegan after hearing about it for so long. Items ordered were a one night stand, Hollywood hooker, hooker fries and banana pudding. The Hollywood hooker was alright, the bread was kind of dry but the filling itself was good. The bacon on the one night stand was dynamite and probably the best part of the burger. The hooker fries were pretty tasty. Fyi, all main items (burgers/sandwiches) come with a side of fries. A bit pricey for what it is but it's cool to go least once and experience it. After a long day of a few events (Sneakercon and Spike Lee's block party) we. And where for something small. I actually wanted a grilled cheese but I discovered they did not have that. As we entered the store, I noticed the employees would scream something out. I didn't quite detect what was being said, but that became the theme for the 20 or 25 minutes that we were inside. It's very loud as far the shouting when people enter, but even when they call out your name for your order or to ask you a question about your order. I ordered some fries and their banana pudding. The fries were good and so was the banana pudding, which was relatively small. I would say I had a decent first experience here but I'd probably order and stand outside next time around. read more

Service wise, it took a little for my food, but there was no line. Don't expect a McDonald's fast turnaround, food is made to order but oh so good! Got the "Hooker Fries", which were delicious and sloppy. Lots of lettuce and veg on top of hot fries, delicious vegan cheese and vegan meat. Flavor wasn't sacrificed one bit! It is a plant-based patty loaded with vegan bacon and vegan cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and slut sauce on a vegan Hawaiian bun. It was freshly made to order. I waited outside for about 20 minutes before it was ready. It was tasty and delicious, and the fries were marvelous. There is a host that greets and entertains customers as soon as they walk in the door. She called me a Slut and asked if I was a virgin vegan, and I said yes because I have never eaten at a vegan fast food joint before. She also asked me my name and where I grew up. I was so excited to try this place given their bold, provocative branding and mouthwatering menu. I went to their Fulton Avenue location in Brooklyn. Note that this restaurant is grab and go only. There is zero seating. If you are ordering inside, you form a line against the wall. If you are picking up, you go to the sidewalk window and wait outside. It is very tight and narrow inside the restaurant. On a Saturday around 7pm, it was packed. The line just to order was about a fifteen minute wait. I ended up ordering pickup on their website while I was waiting in line at the restaurant. They have very comprehensive customization options on the menu. The pick up order said it would take 30 minutes to be prepared but there was no other order tracking. They also do not text or email you when your order is ready, so it's not very convenient. Unfortunately, they messed up my order and didn't give me one of my sandwiches so I had to go back, which was super frustrating. When I did get it corrected, they threw in extra fries which was a nice touch. I saw that they gave someone else a free refill because his order was also delayed so I guess they weren't having a great night, but they tried to make up for it with good service. I will say, the man working at the pickup counter was very apologetic and personable. As for the food itself, it was just okay. I got the One Night Stand burger with jalapeños added. I expected the burger to be loaded with toppings but there wasn't much. The bacon had okay texture. It was chewy but didn't have much flavor. I expected the slut sauce to pack a bold punch but it was also very subtle in terms of flavor. The burger patty was pretty juicy but nothing special. I did enjoy the fries which were crinkle cut and crispy. They were sprinkled with fry dust seasoning which was tasty but didn't overwhelm the fries. You can also order the fries without the seasoning if you prefer. I tried the fried pickles as well. They were a pretty good portion size and I enjoyed them. The blackberry mayo was very novel. It was sweet and creamy and paired well with the pickles and regular fries. Their lemonade was refreshing but on the sweeter side and had too much ice. Overall, I am still up for visiting again and trying the chicken sandwich and the Philly cheesecake-style option, but this first trip was a bit disappointing. read more

The hype is real, y'all. Finally got a chance to try Slutty Vegan and the flavors are as loud and brash as the storefront. When I stepped in to pick up my order, I was greeted as a slut by the whole kitchen staff. (Like #truth, I am a slut for vegan food.) They do this whole scripted, call-and-response thing, sorta like the "Ohayō gozaimasu" that some Japanese restaurants do. You don't even have to be in the store. They noticed someone returning to pick up their order through the window, and the lead said something and the rest of the staff responded. I didn't catch it all because truth be told, I was a little overwhelmed. Even if Slutty Vegan's schtick is not your thing, you can't deny how tasty their food is. The menu is largely built around their plant-based patty with slut sauce, caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato on a Hawaiian bun. The different menu options essentially make you choose which one special ingredient to add: bacon, jalapeños, plantains, or pickles. I got the Dancehall Queen, the one with plantains, cuz if I'm a slut for vegan, I'm a whore for sweet jerk plantains. Nomz. I have been meaning to try this place and I had it yesterday and I NEED to talk about it. My Co-workers and I had it delivered via Seamless and everything was packaged properly with no spillage. The orders were separated and they read my food notes about having my fries on the side (I'm not a French fry eater). I had the Sloppy Toppy, and when I first bit into it I was confused. I didn't get a chance to try the OG Slutty Vegan in ATL so I was thrilled when I heard it came to NYC. My friend and I ventured to the Brooklyn location which is kinda small but the marketing and branding is very cool! They definitely promote plant based from their burgers to their banana pudding. We waited about 7-10 minutes for our burgers, I got a Sloppy Toppy, and I did love the jalapeños but the burger itself was really just ok. I could tell it was a beyond meat patty and one that was overly smokey. This kinda ruined my experience with the burger since it felt like it was prepared in a bunch of liquid smoke or it might have just been overcooked. Besides the patty, the toppings were good and the vegan cheese was perfectly melted. My burger came with cajun style crinkle cut fries which were awesome. I've been meaning to visit Slutty Vegan for a while, especially since I heard glowing reviews about how delicious their burgers are and we love to see and support a Black woman-owned business. I came on a Tuesday afternoon and saw a short line outside. It is a take-out only joint on the corner of Fulton and South Portland, where Not Ray's used to be. I ordered the Sloppy Toppy ($15.99) which comes with fries and made my way over to Fort Greene Park. I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately, the burgers are simply not my cup of tea. The Hawaiian bun adds unnecessary sweetness and the slut sauce doesn't give me the punch of flavor I'm looking for. The vegan cheese was excellent but the lettuce and tomatoes tasted anemic. The fries were sprinkled with Slut Dust, which I thought was pretty good. Plenty of salt, garlic, and paprika flavor-- lots of umami to keep you reaching for the next crinkle cut fry. I'll round Slutty Vegan up an extra star because the staff is really nice and it's an enjoyable experience from all the singing to the dancing to the general sluttery. I also love that they have a list of ingredients/allergens in their food if you ask to see it. As someone with a tree nut allergy, vegan places can be a little tricky to navigate sometimes. read more

I finally made it here!!! I went to the Brooklyn, NY location on a Saturday afternoon with a good friend. This location is fairly new and just recently opened in September 2022. It is definitely felt. Oh and if it's your first time there, you'll be shouted out big time as a virgin!!! I loved that experience. Olivia made sure to take care of us and make us feel welcomed, Hi Olivia!! I had the Sloppy Toppy, and the Hooker Fries and to drink I had a mix (Arnold Palmer). Not on the menu, but I asked them to mix the Sweet Iced Tea and Lemonade. My friend had the One Night Stand which came with standard fries, and comprised of vegan bacon, vegan cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, and their signature Slut Sauce on a vegan Hawaiian bun. The Sloppy Toppy is made with their delicious signature Slut Sauce, jalapeños, vegan cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, all on a vegan Hawaiian bun. All burger meals come with fries, but my greedy ass wanted to try the loaded Hooker fries which had beef, cheese, jalapenos, onions, lettuce, and diced tomatoes atop a bed of crinkle cut fries....just the works! The burgers were juicy, flavorful and delicious. To be honest it was better than a beef burger which makes me think whats in the ingredients if its better than meat. Nevertheless I would definitely go back again and I would love to try the banana pudding. The staff was very kind and helpful. If you haven't been, I would definitely recommend going and trying one of the burgers for yourself. We promised to check them out again, and yesterday we decided to do takeout via Uber Eats. We got a great deal: buy one, get two free. Uber Eats is a treat! I had the Fussy Hussy (the only one with the BOGO deal on Uber Eats), and it came with fries. My friend ordered the Dancehall Queen and Hooker Fries. My burger was delicious and quite filling! The taste was a non-meat eater's delight, filled with lots of goodies. (I'm not listing the ingredients here, so you can check them out on Uber Eats, and they have an app you can download to earn points for purchases). My friend had a similar experience with the Dancehall Queen and Hooker Fries, which are loaded with even more vegan delights than what I ordered. Bottom line, you can't go wrong at Slutty Vegan because you have plenty of choices and preferences! The service at this spot is hilarious! How could I say no to such a fast casual paradox. I ordered the "Fussy Hussy" (not to be confused with the equally ribald Hollywood Hooker or the One Night Stand) which is some plant based burger concoction that's heavily spiced with fries that seemed intent on blowing out my colon. I drew the line at the Cold Sore S'mores and the Herpes Hummus (kidding) as I just know this emerging chain concept is coming to Princeton eventually. I finally tried Slutty Vegan around the time they opened in Brooklyn. It was very loud lol. I ordered a burger and fries. I was bit annoyed that the cashier tried to upsell me on their chili. I came in for a burger and fries; he asked me if I wanted to TRY the chili (I was thinking that they were offering samples to entice customers to buy it especially because they were newly opened) then proceeded to try to charge me for it. The girl on the register was very nice (the workers are always nice). Weird quirk but I absolutely hate when people are talking over my food while prepping it and I noticed the workers were just vibing to the music while prepping and that weirdly made me happy lol I got the fussy hussy, sloppy toppy and chik'N Head (the names kill me lol) love the burgers and fries but the chik'N sandwich was kind of disappointing to be honest. It was 3 nuggets not a patty and I didn't love the taste :( I had 2 bites and tossed it, not good for a $16 sandwich. You're greeted with a "what's up slutttt" by the hype SV crew, so if you can't handle some good fun, gtfo! The menu features sloppy burgers and sandwiches, and the most deliciously spiced crinkle-cut fries that you could find (and just fyi: fries are included with every sandwich!) I love the Ménage a Trois burger (standard SV burger with bacon and fried shrimp).
