Was starving after running errands. Got an amazing avocado salad ! I will definitely come back to try other dishes.

This is my go-to place in Brooklyn for vegetarian meals. I usually stop by for lunch after the gym or delivery for dinner. I just tried the chicken sandwich, but it's small. However, you get two, and the sauce is very tasty. The fries could have been more crispy for my liking. However, it did taste good. General Tso chicken ( they give enough for 3 meals), I ate some already in the pictures. Spinach in garlic and broccoli in garlic sauce is the bomb. You can't not buy from lotus without trying the spring rolls with the sauce . The boneless spare ribs are the as well (enough for three meals). Top the meal of with a fresh juice, you can't miss from this place. Staff is always friendly .

Service was great as I was the only one eating in. The space is chill for a quick bite. Food came out in a timely manner and was yummy. Total was $15.28

I was so surprised to find this vegan restaurant right next door to one of my favorite vegan spot in this neighborhood. I got several dishes including the most popular Bbq Ribs. The 2nd I tasted it; I remembered I've eaten here before. One note across all the dishes I had here; sweet. No nuance of flavor. Just sweet.Go next door or down Flatbush to Zen Vegetarian.

In a neighborhood rife with fast food options, Lotus Vegetarian stands out not only as one of the healthier options in the area, but also one of the rare mom and pop shops. With views of the huge logos of IHOP, Retro Fitness, and Rite Aid gleaming in the distance, being inside Lotus feels like a zen hideaway from the big corporations. The food is good too! Craving some veggies after a rather indulgent weekend, I scanned through their menu for some healthy sides. I ordered roasted pumpkin as an appetizer, which came steamed in a small pint. There was nothing more to this side than cut up, steamed squash but it was pretty much the healthy side I was seeking. My sweet basil soy protein entree was almost enough for two meals, had plenty of protein that was pleasantly crisp at the edges, and complemented the haricots verts and sweet basil sauce really nicely. My partner ordered veggie lo mein, which I found to be overcooked to the point of mushiness. Noodles without any chew to them are a dealbreaker for me. The decor is nice enough to stay for a sit down meal, but they are extra speedy for takeout and delivery.

I went back for a weekday lunch recently and the food and atmosphere both hold up fabulously, so it makes sense why they've remained a brunch mainstay at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

It was a good portion, enough for one to finish. The lentil soup was on the saltier side, and the potatoes with string beans tasted a little fishy. But, altogether, everything was an interesting mix. I felt like I was eating a mix of Chinese- and Indian-inspired food. The mustard greens reminded me of Chinese fare, while the touch of spicy chutney reminded me of Indian cuisine. After the main meal, I tried their fried green tea ice cream. The dessert was beautifully presented, and tasted as I would have expected: a touch of bitterness from the green tea ice cream, covered in batter. While the food was maybe a 4, the ambiance was easily a 5. The artwork was breathtaking! Whoever commissioned the artwork did a great job. At night, they dim the lights and add (fake) candles, so the artwork stands out even more, and the ambiance feels soothing. Service was good. The owner was very accommodating. All in all, Namaste Brooklyn is in a great location in Brooklyn and offers patrons a trip to a different part of the world. Check it out if you're nearby!

It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

You realize it's cluttered with a bunch of knickknacks and other games and accessories that. Some of the items inside look like they're either for sale or just meant for display, which is fine, but I feel like it distracts from the main purpose, which is serving food and being a comfortable resting spot. It's no fault of the place, but the vibe is a mix of reggae, African folk music, and incense, and it contrasts sharply with the environment outside. There's an Italian restaurant across the street blasting Frank Sinatra type music, so the clash is noticeable. I feel like maybe the sound could be adjusted or balanced somehow. As part of the promotion, I ordered the vegan lentil soup. It was okay, nothing special but not bad. Then I was served an iced chai latte, and most of the spices sank to the bottom under the ice. After I swirled it, the spices still didn't have much flavor. It wasn't strong or pungent, and you couldn't really taste the spices or feel any of the digestive benefits chai is usually known for. It didn't taste like tea; it was just mildly sweet. I could see myself drinking it with a dessert, but it didn't stand out on its own. The service was friendly. I hope this place the best and want it to succeed but it needs to literally clean up.
