It was my first time trying Nepalese food, and I had such a great experience. The chicken momos were juicy, the blood sausage was flavorful and unique, and the curry vegetables were absolutely delicious. The spicy beef was a bit tough, but the fritters were really good and made up for it. They even had sake and my favorite lager, Singha. The atmosphere was cute and cozy, and our waitress was super attentive. She was just as excited to hear my feedback as I was to share it--it made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this spot. Great cocktails, a cute bar, and a warm welcome to Nepalese flavors!

BLUF: Insubstantial. We ordered two things for take-out on our first visit to Namaste Brooklyn: - Shrimp Siumai: $7 ($7.62 with tax). Meh. These seemed to be store bought / machine-made, as they were tiny and relatively uniform in appearance. Each siumai was smaller than a quarter (coin) in diameter. - Combo Momo, with Jhol: $15 ($16.33 with tax). This dish had two vegetable momos, two chicken momos, and two beef momos. I liked the jhol sauce, but the momos were small. We received very little food for nearly $24. Momos at other places are two to three times larger, and cost less, although many of those places likely have lower overhead costs. The atmosphere at Namaste Brooklyn is lovely. They did a great job in transforming the space from prior tenant Cinco de Mayo. Namaste Brooklyn might be better for dine-in than take-out, but we hope that Namaste Brooklyn considers steps to make their offerings a better value.

Went here for Easter dinner with my loves... the food was good, the atmosphere was what we were looking for... Manhattan feel, chill vibe without venturing out to Manhattan. Service was good, besides the sun being in my eye cause we sat outside, it was great. Wish they had umbrella set up to block the sun would be my suggestion. Place was a little pricey though. Overall, great experience

Although this was a lovely spot and service was good, it was overall an underwhelming experience because of the food. Drinks were very good. We had the cucumber and sunrise drinks. Shrimp sumai was pretty good. The chicken lollipops were okay. They like the rest of the meal needed a little bit more flavor. The green curry was very bland and lacked seasoning. I also had the Thali with beef. Again low on flavor. There were two elements on the thali dish that had some kick to it- the tomato sauce and pickled element. Everything else, the greens, the meat, the sauces and potatoes were bland and disappointing. Not a good thing when you both ask each other "how's your food' and you both go 'eh' with a shrug. I really wanted to like this place. The staff and restaurant itself were lovely but it boils down to mediocre food.

I've been riding past this place for fever and a day, lol. Today I went in and trust me it's was the best move I made. Very welcoming from the door. Now my food smh everything was so good. I had the Pomegranate Daiquiri and another one because it was sooo good, the right mix of everything. I also had the Shumai with shrimp, and it was so good, then the chicken momo and for desert was like heaven. It's called the Gulab Jamun its a must before you leave. I will be back because the menu looks very inviting the decor is very nice as well. And thanks to my host for taking time to let me know about items on the menu. This was a really nice place and a must go when in the area!!!

Oh! Is that a new review? Yes, it is. Namaste has taken the place of a much beloved neighborhood staple Cinco De Mayo, so they have a lot to live up to. After this meal, I think they might just be up to the challenge. I was so hungry as my last meal was the night before at work. Yes. Night worker problems. It was 20-25 minutes to closing and Namaste was kind enough to seat me. I made a quick decision and ordered the aloo dum and tingmo with pork chilli. The cocktails also sounded intriguing so I ordered a drink--the name of which I have now forgotten-- that had mezcal (come on!), mint, and I believe raspberry. Don't take me at my word, but I shall return and redeem myself by getting the name. The aloo dum-- basically spiced/potato curry. Namaste's version had less sauce than typical, but oh my days, was it glorious. I love all things spice so I had the most amazing time. Add the pork chilli and the tingmo and I was raving about Namaste for the next two weeks. Perfectly seasoned, pork cooked to perfection, and the sauce? Dipping the tingmo in there was cathartic in itself. I always I will go back, but I have already been back, and though the second go around wasn't up to par with the first, I am always willing to give multiple chances to a place that delivered so phenomenally on our initial encounter. As always, happy eating and drinking! MarieMG

Opening Night and everything went about as well as you could possibly imagine. Momos, chicken chili and the drink were all top notch. Space is beautiful and the service was impeccable. Welcomed addition to Ditmas Patk!

The food types are similar but offer different spice/flavor profiles. They have a large section of noodles, soup, and rice. A veggie section with various combos of cauliflower, potatoes, onion, bamboo, blackened peas, mustard greens, and spices. Some of the Indian dishes: paneer butter masala, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala. Some of the appetizers include crispy tofu, fried soybeans, a Nepali snack platter with marinated meat, goat, beef tripe, sliced beef tongue, fried jerky, duck. They also have a momo section. We had their famous chicken lollipops (essentially fried chicken) and it was crispy and spicy (in a good way). We also had sadeko (marinated or tossed) bacon, which was rich and tender. I had one of their Nepali cocktails, which was pleasantly spicy (the chatpata aam, made with tequila, spicy chatpatey syrup, and mango puree). Service was attentive. Inside is cozy, lots of dark wood and colorful flags. They also often have entertainment in the evening, so I would love to return to hear some live music while trying more Nepali cuisine.

The place isn't huge but it is a good size and was able to accommodate us. There were many appetizers on the table that were very delish. A hit for me were the seasoned potatoes, Aloo Dum (dry). I ordered the Shogo Ngopa and decided to go with tingmo instead of the white rice. Trying something new! Also ordered a mango lassie. Food came out fresh, warm and delicious. The tingmo reminded me to a steamed bun with out the filling but with layers. Everything was good. Everyone was friendly and kept our water glasses filled. At 9pm there was live music which was a nice treat. They even sang happy birthday to our friend. Nice place and will definitely try again!

It was a nice cross between Chinese and Indian with many cooking techniques and flavors melded from both. It's a no frills spot that gets the basics right, we ended up splitting some beef momos (the hot sauce paired with them was divine), I got the traditional Tibetan noodle soup with shrimp (would recommend a different protein), and my friend got a spicy lamb (?) dish that he seemed to enjoy. There is plenty of seating inside, but chairs can be a tad uncomfortable. Fortunately food comes quick so you may not have to sit for long! The service was fast and efficient and refilled our waters / provided extra napkins when we asked. I would definitely return when in the mood for Tibetan food.

My friend and I decided to share everything. We ordered: GARLIC NAAN 5/5 These garlic naans were probably the best we've both tried. As soon as we took a bite, we are both impressed. And to think that we would have missed out if our server didn't suggest it... These particular naans are made different from the traditional Iones. They are coated with buttery goodness and are super thin. The hummus on the side was also a very good pairing. I would recommend this app. PORK JHOL MOMO 5/5 These pork momos were also super delicious! Comparing it to the ones I've had at another restaurant, there is no overpowering cilantro in this one! The momo itself was very juicy. The flavor of the inside and the soup was delicious. Another must-get! CHICKEN KHAJA PLATTER 4/5 My friend and I were probably the least impressed with this one. A lot of the dish includes a lot of dry ingredients like popped rice & soybean seeds. They also used cold meats and veggies. It was great to try each portion of the platter, but wasn't our personal favorites of our visit here. Overall, we had a delicious lunch. We throughly enjoyed our experience here and would definitely recommend this local spot. I did think it was worth the trip over.
