All the items are labeled so clearly so you don't have to stress about any ingredients that you're trying to avoid. The girl behind the counter was sweet and helpful when I became overwhelmed with choice. I tried the cowboy salad which had a lot of flavor and was quite enjoyable. I also tried a smoothie that was refreshing and healthy. Prices are quite reasonable for what they offer. Highly recommend! Electric Beets is one of my favorite vegan spots in the city. Small shop with mostly grab-and-go items and baked goods, but they do have hot soup and can warm up anything you buy if you want. There are so many options, and I love that they're already packaged up, perfectly portable. The staff is also so nice and friendly. I haven't had anything there that I didn't like, but I'm especially partial to their burritos and wraps, like their buffalo chik'n wrap and breakfast burrito. My kid likes their tofu nuggets and chocolate chip cookies a lot. They have a few seats inside and a couple tables outside, but it's so easy to pack everything up in a cooler to take wherever you want to go. Looking forward to trying more! read more

I had a really wonderful experience at Electric Beets. I highly recommend trying it out if you are in the area. From the food to the ownership, you will leave feeling nourished in body and soul. First, I love their wide yet curated menu. From soups, mains, wraps, sweets, and more, EB has something for everyone. Still, the selection definitely feels curated and thoughtful. I also love how open they are about the ingredients both online and on the packaging in-store. By the way, EB is a grab-and-go place (re the packaging) but there is some seating and they will heat things up for you! Second, the actual food is yummy, filling, and doesn't leave you feeling sluggish. I think this is a testament to the quality of what they do. One thing that's important to know about all their food is that it's definitely lacking a bit in the salt department. This, however, is not a major drawback for me because (1) you can always add salt, and they have a large shaker in their storefront for those who eat in, and (2) it feels very much so on brand for them to do this, because it's just more accessible for different conditions and palettes. Anyway, here's a deeper dive into what I ordered over 2 visits within 24 hours : Chickpea Curry Soup ($14 for LG): feels like a healthy meal that a vegan food influencer would make. This is a compliment. Silky, comforting, and yummy. Basil Biscuit ($4): really yummy drop biscuit! Hearty with some richness. Zucchini Brownie ($8): solid brownie, but after reflecting on it, I would not recommend this due to the high price and the fact that it tastes very healthy. I know I'm complimenting that in other dishes, but I feel there's a threshold, especially considering the price. Carrot Ginger Soup ($14 for LG): really lovely. I think I might like it a bit better than the Chickpea Curry Soup. GF Lasagna Slice ($12): hearty and unique! The owner said that this was their richest dish, and I felt totally good after eating the whole thing! I'll say that not all the vegan components quite compare to the original (e.g., the cashew cheese has a nutella-like texture), but I felt it was still solid given all the modifications. I think they could lean harder into tofu here for a closer texture, though! 16 Mills Babka Pound Cake: it's marble pound cake!! It's gonna be good :) Third, the ownership. The owner was working near the front of the counter both times I came, and it was instantly apparent how caring and thoughtful she is about EB. She knew basically all of the customers coming in. She obviously didn't know me, but she was so helpful in walking me through the menu options. For the customers who she knew liked the 16 Mills baked goods, she was proactively open about the fact that they'd be ending their partnership in a few weeks. She wasn't putting 16 Mills down in the slightest, quite the opposite, but she candidly and gently shared how things were changing and why. I remember thinking, "This is what business is supposed to look like." It's just very authentic and thoughtful. That comes through in literally everything they do. Big kudos to her! I don't know when I'll be in Brooklyn next, but I'll do my best to hit up EB again, and I think y'all should too! read more

I think there is a perception (maybe just my own) that vegan food can be quite expensive for what you get, even if it's only decent. However, Electric Beets combines decent prices with really great food. I go again and again for the green goddess wrap which has a bunch of veggies and a killer sauce. It isn't a haphazard assortment either, they all work together. They come in different flavors such as vanilla raspberry and chocolate cherry. The frosting is smooth and creamy and the donut cake is dense and moist. The highlight for me was a type of Spicy Coconut Soup with Vegetables - FULL OF FLAVOR that will make your tastebuds awaken - it makes you feel alive! I bought spring rolls and japchae to bring home, and I ate both today, and...if I could afford to move back to Park Slope just for this place, I just might! I've been coming here since it opened in Dec and I've loved everything I've tried! I just today had the Buffalo Chik'n Wrap and it's motivated me to finally sing the beet electric. I'm loving this wrap so much. It's delicious --spicy and full of favor. Lots of protein but not from processed or fried fake meats. All of the food here is homemade and most of it seems to be being made when you visit because it smells so good in here. Oh and I've loved the SCONES so much. My favorite was the chocolate, hazelnut, date scone. The breakfast wrap is also excellent. I brought a sheet of their amazing lasagna to a dinner party and everyone LOVED it! Love this place!!! Wish we live close by so can grab their incredibly delicious cooked food and baked goods easily. Everything in the store is refined sugar free which is so appreciated and on top of all so flavored bursting with umami. We've been picking up a few items on the weekend for weekday meals. The japchae (coconut sugar) is so good and finally not a greasy and overly sweet japchae like most Korean places. All the soups and chili we tried were fresh and yummy. The lasagna was amazing too. I really appreciate this place - major but - I went in just now and the two customer service folks insisted that they would not take my $100 bill for a $40 purchase - because they've been having a problem with fakes. I happen to not be a regular park slope person with many extra dollars on my card. I could only pay for lunch for myself and my kid with this cash. I had to get pretty animated to insist back that they call the boss of the establishment to ask to make an exception and go ahead and check that my bill was not a fake. I was asked to "be respectful" but I do not feel I was treated with respect whatsoever in this case. They did call their boss. I run a public facing retail business and there are always exceptions but for me to have to insist and border line raise my voice... to pay for my food? read more
