    Vanilla raspberry donut
    Pamela K.

Really delicious vegan options for sweets! The food items and soups are delicious but do not sleep on the sweet treats! My favorite are the donuts from Sixteen Mill Bakeshop. They come in different flavors such as vanilla raspberry and chocolate cherry. The frosting is smooth and creamy and the donut cake is dense and moist. They're $9 per donut, but a solid option/special treat if you're looking for vegan sweets.

Everything made in-house using minimal oil and no refined sugar at this vegan deli and bakery in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Among its wares, serves a rotating daily soup specials. Caught the Egyptian lentil soup, tasty and soul-warming on a cool fall evening. Paired it with a tempeh-kale salad, and as a treat, a sunflower butter cup cookie. Other things to look out for: burritos, mac and cheese, and their lasagna. Mostly functions as a grab-and-go but does have limited seating inside and outside. Cecily, the founder, was so welcoming and a fount of knowledge. You could hear the love, care, and dedication in her voice. Drop by, support, and say hello.

Sunflower Mac n Cheese - A rectangular beige container filled with macaroni and cheese, featuring elbow macaroni coated in a creamy yellow cheese sauce. A metal fork rests inside the container, with some pasta on its tines. The container is placed on a table with sunlight casting shadows, and a pen is visible in the background. The setting suggests a casual dining or takeout meal.

Decided to stop here for lunch with a friend and was really pleasantly surprised! My friend got the breakfast burrito and I got the sunflower Mac n cheese and both were so delicious! Even though the food was in the refrigerator, the staff offered to warm it up so we could eat it there. Everything was super tasty and fresh. I talked to who I assume was the owner as she noticed I had just finished a race and we bonded over running. Super super friendly and kind staff. Would HIGHLY recommend.

The poster features cartoon representations of various plant-based foods, including soybeans, white beans, green lentils, amaranth, chickpeas, edamame, mung beans, peas, tofu, mushrooms, quinoa, spinach, beetroot, whole wheat bread, pumpkin, parsley, tahini, oats, chia seeds, kale, goji berries, potato, red bell pepper, sunflower seeds, and orange. Each item is accompanied by its iron content per serving, with some items marked as cooked or mashed. The illustrations are colorful and friendly, set against a pink background, with the title 'Plant-Based Iron Sources' at the top.

PLANT-BASED BLISS! !! I'm rarely in this area and I was looking for a vegan or vegetarian spot - surprisingly there isn't all that much in this terrific area except for "ELECTRIC BEETS", a small unassuming spot with a variety of healthy and inventive items, where the vibe is so high, it'll make you smile!!! (thanks Yelp for helping me discover it!) Flavors "pop" in everything here!!! Their website has a "Calendar of Soups" so you can know what's offered on the day of your visit! Such a cute idea! There are variety of daily made sandwiches, salads, pastas and more in their abundant refrigerator case - any can be heated up for you - the choices are ABUNDANT! I tried the Buffalo "chicken" Wrap - very filling and hit the spot. Enjoying it while people-watching was terrific! The highlight for me was a type of Spicy Coconut Soup with Vegetables - FULL OF FLAVOR that will make your tastebuds awaken - it makes you feel alive! They also offer baked goods, of course I had to buy two! One was a sesame cookie, who doesn't love the idea of a healthy cookie! The other was a type of scone that was quite filling, as scones always are! The owner politely introduced herself and appreciated my interest in ALL of this highly creative take on healthy plant-based eats! Flavorful healthy eating is her passion and that is easy to see as soon as you walk in there are a number of cookbooks that she and the team seem to use - this is a team that aims high. She was open to hearing about all of my menu ideas. (I was a food writer in New York for many years) inventive flavor/texture pairings are where it's at for me! Her enthusiasm for what she does, her devotion to everyone's better health and her sense of joy and purpose is felt and she IS the heartbeat of this endeavor that she clearly LVES!!! She's brought her Midwestern charm to New York and this is not an easy spot to succeed in the food business unless you can offer consistency and excellence- her "Electric Beets" does both and is poised for greater success. As the the warmer weather approaches, it will be nice to sit at their orange tables out front in this friendly-vibe neighborhood where you see many families with happy hipster Brooklyn kids - . - what a pleasure! I cannot wait to go back and try more of their highly inventive and FLAVORFUL food - many get things to-go but to eat here is like getting an education in plant-based EXCELLENCE and INVENTIVENESS - expect great things from this beloved spot... Check it out...

Coconut Chickpea Curry w/brown rice and Baked Vegan Tofu Lasagna! - The image features two vegan food items on an orange table. One is a bowl of chili topped with a dollop of sour cream, served in a rectangular container. The other is a round plastic container filled with vegetable stew, with a metal spoon resting inside. A napkin and a glass of water are also visible in the background.

Great food and service! Delicious and Nutritious I will visit again and again. Great place to get goods all bites and or a meal, the right portions. Support this business Brooklyn!

    BBQ Jackfruit Wrap

My first meal here and it was delicious. The barbecue sauce was spicy with some nice sweet and crispy contrast from the coleslaw. So good that even this omnivore is ready for a return trip.

Above the menu, a handwritten note on beige paper welcomes customers and promotes their plant-based, gluten-free options, with the business's Instagram handle. The background features an exposed brick wall, and part of an orange chair is visible in the lower right corner.

The menu is stacked--sandwiches, hearty apps, macs, and cozy entrees that make you forget you're eating vegan. During my visit, they were running a Reuben sandwich special that seriously tempted me, but I went with the oyster mushroom calamari, and wow, the seasoning was spot on, and it could easily fool a seafood lover. My friend tried the seitan wings and was really impressed, even though he's usually not into mock meats. They came with super flavorful sauces and were definitely shareable. He also had the smash burger, which was a total win--savory, satisfying, and gave big diner vibes. We heard the milkshakes are amazing too, but we were too full to fit them in. Next time, for sure. Only downside? The service was on the slow side--we waited over 30 minutes between apps and mains. It's a popular spot, so some delay is understandable, but it was noticeable. Overall, I loved it and can't wait to go back with an emptier stomach and room for dessert.

We began our meal with delicious drinks , including a favorite of mine , Morirsoñando..and delicious cocktails served in fresh coconut..Next we indulged in the most amazing appetizer, the Crispy Cou Cou with Glazed Steak which is a delicious scotch bonnet honey glazed vegan steak DREAM, served with pineapple, charred corn and mint. The flavors are explosive, unique, vibrant and richly developed. Next, for our entrees we selected the Curry Goat and Roti and the Steak & Rice. The flavors and textures would NEVER reveal these dishes to be vegan. These amazing chefs have captured that beautifully balanced and craveable Caribbean flavor in every element..the coconut curry..the chimichurri..the rice and beans..watm, smoky, rich...just stunning food that delivers phenomenal flavor to please even the most carnivorous cravings!! Last, we wrapped our meal with the Chinola Cheesecake which is touted as a cheesecake made of cashews, vanilla, coconut & passionfruit...OH MY GOODNESS...I don't know how those ingredients become that dish, but I would put it up against any cheesecake I have ever had, and it would likely beat the socks off of it!!! So luscious, bright, creamy indulgent, packed with passionfruit flavor and the absolute perfect compliment to the meal. I am so happy.I finally got to experience this food and I cannot wait to return and try every bit of that menu!! I highly recommend!!

I was so excited to try the food. The Chick'n sandwich (lion's mane mushroom) was a 10/10. Honestly, the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. I ordered through Seamless and picked it up since I was in the area, and I'm so glad I did. The sauce was incredibly flavorful with a little spicy, tangy, and creamy balance. The bun was soft, the mushroom was full of flavor, and everything just worked together perfectly. I was actually speechless after the first bite. It was satisfying without feeling heavy, but still substantial. The pickle added the perfect bite and brightness. I got the side salad instead of fries. It looked fresh and was a great size (I haven't tried it yet), but honestly the sandwich is the star. I'm definitely coming back soon to try it with the fries.

My fiancé got a beer and his friend got the Ethiopian coffee. It was a tasty espresso served with oat milk and sugar on the side. The BEC was recommended by the waiter and it was delicious! The egg was fluffy, the cheese was great, there was plenty of sauce, the toast was perfect. I wish for more potatoes! The scramble was good. The injera is an interesting flavor!
