    a box of food

My first time, eating vegan and it was amazing. I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it

Very cute place. We went there specifically for their ice cream. Food looks good also but we had lunch already. We love their tofuttis. Grapenut, and peanut butter was so so good. The pistachio was ok. We didn't know how the flavor was. I couldn't describe it but its so strong. I would give it 5 stars if service was a bit better. They do not acknowledge you as customers. A man just stared at me when I was there. I was puzzled on what he wanted from me. I asked him which ones of the ice cream are dairy free. I needed to make sure cause my husband is latose. He answered back in a whisper tone. " they all are" and that stare.. I had to ask him to repeat himself three time. Not to mention he also had an accent. Overall we love the ice cream and we def go back if we around the area.

    Linguine w/ eggplant

Ok, I know my photo doesn't look like much, but let me tell you that this is one of the best things I've ever eaten. It's linguine with a hefty scoop of eggplant sauce on top. It's one of those dishes that I could actually eat multiple times a week (and normally, I hate eggplant!). Speaking of, my roommate works near Scoops and actually does go there 1-3 times per week, and has yet to grow tired of it! Scoops is a tiny take-out spot with a 100% vegan pay-by-the-pound food bar, accompanied by a little ice cream bar. The food bar rotates its selection daily - mostly scrumptious veggie dishes and 1-2 faux meat or fish dishes. The veggie lasagna is also a favorite which they have at least once a week. Don't take it personally if the owner seems a little unfriendly at first. He has a good sense of humor and likes to joke with his customers...you just may not realize he's joking right away. The first time I came, I asked him what all the dishes were (they're not labeled) and with a straight face he responded, "...Food." I thought, oh great, he doesn't like me, what am I doing here, but I continued to prod so I'd know what to order. While he was ringing me up, another newbie came in with the same question, and the owner responded similarly. Phew, I thought! This is just what he does. And sure enough, my Scoops-regular-roomie confirmed he's actually a really sweet guy who just likes to have a little fun with his customers. I can get behind that. Vegan or not, I highly recommend Scoops. You'll feel that comforting good-full feeling afterward that'll make you want to take a stroll at Prospect Park...orrr nap.

I took a little bit of everything they had

Great food was my first Time eating vegan, and their food was the best thing I put in my mouth. I don't like writing reviews but they deserve it.

Lo menu with vegetables, soy protein crumbles and drumsticks
    Michael T.

This is a strange place but the food is good. It's basically a pay by the pound place but you don't see the scale, you don't see the register and you just pay whatever the person who dishes out the food tells you to pay. I ordered Lo Mein with vegetables, soy protein crumbles and drumsticks. I told the guy (who I assume was the owner) just one big spoonful but he gave me whatever would fill the medium box. (You get a choice of small, medium and large.) I paid $14 which was more than I expected although I got a lot of food. ‍ Still the food was good. I didn't have the ice cream but it looked good. I'd go again but ask for the small box next time.

The front of the eatery - really tiny place...

Lord-a-mercy! It's good to clear out your systems once in awhile, and after so many high-fat, high-red-meat, highly seasoned meals, it's good to get something honest, simple and flavorful at a hole-in-the-wall. This place is the very definition of a neighborhood joint. The owner/chef seems to be a rasta-man selling ice cream, juices and pre-made meals. Those meals alone are worth the visit - When I was there on Thursday it was pimento (allspice) and nutmeg laden nut meats served on top of noodles, fresh salads and a delicious blackeye pea stew on the side. Ask for some hot sauce and be prepared for a fiery introduction to the flavor of scotch bonnet peppers. Don't worry - ask for a scoop of non-dairy ice cream and it'll cool you off. The flavors are decent (tofutti, banana strawberry, etc) - I would recommend a scoop of grapenut (the cereal) flavored ice cream. Sorry, you won't find meat here, nor would you find any alcohol, so Guinness Stout is out. But why would you need it? The price isn't too bad either ($10 for a large platter, $4 with change for a single scoop...what, you never paid $4.50 for a single scoop at Ample Hills or Oddbrothers?), and they have wonderful tasting coconut water. Mmmm...this is definitely a place to visit while in PLG. Your taste buds will not regret it.

Sunday chill. She agrees food is slamming

I was blatantly dismissed after my order intake, payment, followed by receipt request with a rude scowl apathetic look. Why project an insolent attitude towards customers? Possibly ergophobia or social anxiety disorder to be surrounded by people? I exist. I matter. I am human. I am one life in the smallest measurement. "I exist as I am, that is enough." -- Walt Whitman By the power of observation, the next customer who went through the linear process of intake ordering, payment and waiting this same male server/cashier visibly made the same negative body language gesture again with disdain visible look. There is no reverence for customer service, but blatant insolent wayward behavior! Unfortunately, this male server/cashier appeared the sole worker on duty. Can this male server smile or nod to acknowledge customers' order request vs. "I wash my hands of you" vile negative body language? When requesting a printed sales receipt, it can only be either emailed or sent via text. Apparently, The Good Batch uses Square Register, a point-of-sale (POS) cashier register system as their paperless cash register, thus, no printed sales receipt will be printed but can only be either texted or emailed. I highly prefer Counterpoint as a functional and effective POS cash register for all retail brick and mortar businesses. The exterior appears to be a local, small quiet independent bakery business with a bakery glass display case loaded with various baked goodies accompanied with coffee. I entered with tempered expectations which was reduced to inhumane of near emptiness. This bakery offers British scones, but I have a strong predilection for American biscuits (either buttermilk or non buttermilk). There are ice cream sandwiches available. No comment for any as I did not purchase. Nota Bene: "Return Policy: All sales are final." Price is extortionate exceedingly high for mediocre baked pastries. Business cards are available for grabs which also appears much difficulties for this same male server. I refused to include this business card to my collection box. Backed by Giacomo C. and Michelle W.'s negative reviews, I agree 100% The Good Batch does not entice my interest for a return visit. The Good Batch, a bakery business is accessible via MTA NYC Transit C local train at Clinton-Washington Street subway station in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn followed by a reasonable walk. Chocolate chip cookie $4.00 It was hard and very bland. It was not sweet nor semi-sweet in any form. It was not worth the trek to Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, the negative body language for insolent wayward behavior, followed by the acquiesce email receipt request and the extortionate exceedingly high price. I exited dispirited with utter despondence. Bye, Felicia!

All those flavors pertain to the topping of your cup--the actual drinking hot chocolate is all the same no matter what you get. The drink itself was underwhelming and nothing I'd return to. Swiss miss taste, consistency, vibe. Very liquidy and not rich at all. What gets your heart racing is the whipped torched marshmallow fluff that tops the cup. It's so chewy and tasty, you'll feel your glucose spike through the roof. If you're into sweet--this is an indulgence for you. Pretty pricey for $7.50 per cup plus tax. Between the three flavors, all were tasty. Just depends on how much extra you're feeling on a particular day. Szechuan peanut butter gave the most unique flavor--slight spiciness to the crunchy brittle sprinkled on top of the marshmallow. If you go with classic, you won't miss out, honestly, as the toppings didn't add much depth or make any significant difference in the taste of the drink. No bathroom on premises. Very limited seating inside: a few stools that would fit 4 people max. If you come here during peak times, you'll have to eat outside.
