The food is always fresh and filling and we haven't had a dish we don't love yet (but the Seitan skewers stand out as a favorite). We usually order extra just so there's leftovers the next day. Such a lovely experience dining here with a friend of mine. They have backyard seating, as well as seating in front of the restaurant. If you're looking for a spot that doesn't have a wait list, or a crowded space.. This is it! We were greeted with hand sanitizer! Haha. I thought that was pretty awesome since I was just hopping off my bike. The food was lovely, we got the nori wraps (both A and B) for apps and I got the Kimchi Udon noodles as my main while my friend got the General Tso's dish! Both delicious. I also always struggle with finding vegan spicy mayo when ordering sushi in other restaurants - and their vegan spicy mayo with the nori wraps is so good that I ended up ordering some edemame to dip into it too! Get to Luanne's wild ginger for lunch for the best deal ever on great vegan food! For only $10 you can choose between a variety of entrees and it comes with a spring roll and soup. The soup was tasty , and a good appetite opener for me. Seaweed and tofu in a Delicious broth . I had the sweet and sour protein , battered and fried served with fresh veggies and rice. My server was Velma! She was sweet and knew the menu well, she was able to make recommendations while being patient because I was a bit indecisive. For appetizers I tried the stuffed wontons! and the Mango scallion pancake , both amazing . There was one dessert option , peanut butter bomb cake. It was huge , rich and chocolatey , I didn't like it. I wouldn't get it again . With my check in , I received a free drink. (This place is alcohol free, and I like alcohol ) I chose the mint green iced tea. It was pretty refreshing . In all I enjoyed my meal , and I'll be back soon ! read more

I order delivery from here often and can confirm even meat eaters don't realize this is a vegetarian meal! Am a huge fan of the bo bun (rice noodle salad)... but my favourite: house bi-bim bap. It is a bi-bim bap inspired brown rice bowl with far more innovative mix of western and eastern veggies. Gonna simply bullet this from the mobile app to bang it out, since I just left: 1. Dirty glass 2. Blandest Thai Iced Tea I've ever had (and the most expensive) 3. Bland soup (miso with udon, and I didn't notice the black seaweed that was supposed to be in it. 4. Soup was listed on the menu at $12 and was billed $13. 5. When I pointed this out the server tried to assert that it was because I chose the udon (instead of the other two options), but the menu clearly states you can choose any of those three for $12. No upcharge is listed. 6. The server never apologized or tried to make it right. She simply stated that this is what the register charges for the item. Obviously this discrepancy should be resolved with a dollar off the bill, an apology, and the reassurance that the menu (or register) would be corrected ASAP. Basically she told me I could take it out of her tip. If this business does not want to correct an obvious, easy-to-fix problem, then it is intentionally misleading customers, and that is unethical. It may only be a dollar, but that doesn't matter. Knowingly ripping off your clientele is simply wrong. I won't be back and I'll be sure to share this experience with everyone I know who might consider dining here. read more

Because I was lunching with Vegan friends I went to this place. Boy, was I ever surprised! You wouldn't have known that the food was Vegan, and (sorry Vegans) that is very high praise in my book. The desserts (we ordered one of everything and shared) were as good or better than places that have no limitations on their ingredients. A friend and I came here on the Fourth of July. We sat outside in the garden. There were a few citronella candles placed throughout but these were not effective at preventing me from getting bitten 5x in two hours. The menu has a good selection of generally healthier than typical pan-Asian food with more vegetables than normal. They gave me the gluten-free menu, which was the regular menu with annotations in ballpoint pen: one dot for "needs alterations" and two dots for "always gluten-free," and my husband and I both ordered dishes with two dots. I made the mistake not to ask the usual 100 questions that I've asked for the past 20 years of being gluten-free; I assumed that having a gluten-free menu meant that they verified that rice noodles were 100% rice without wheat, soy sauce or other sauces had no wheat, and that everything was cooked in clean pans without cross-contamination. My dish arrived with something that wasn't tofu, and it turned out actually to have gluten, so it's a good thing I didn't touch it until asking further questions. They offered to make me a second version, but I just took my husband's dish, and now I have the start of symptoms that make me wonder if even that wasn't really gluten-free. Maybe I'll give them another chance with different dishes, but it's a frustrating experience. (The Paad Thai wasn't even that good: it's an Americanized dish in the first place, of course, but this version was sub-par version that was mostly sweet and brown with little complexity; Paad Thai shouldn't be brown and it should be served with a fork, not chopsticks, which are not used in Thailand.) read more

I'm no chef, but Luanne's offers some of the most unique dishes in the neighborhood at a great price with quality fresh ingredients. I've been here 3 times and I can say the dinner staff was especially friendly and helpful. The backyard garden area is a great touch. One particularly nice detail is that they place mint leaves inside the water decanter, but oddly I've never actually tasted the mint. read more

Amazing, went to the Dekalb Av venue and was so impressed with the food. I ordered the orange tempeh dish with broccoli and rice and it was cooked to perfection. I have been to Wild Ginger twice, and both times I was very happy with the food. I have been to the Smith St and Dekalb St locations. (I'm a fairly new vegetarian and am not sure why I don't go here more often.) Last night, I went to the Dekalb location and the bartender was also our server. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She also made suggestions which was helpful and when I asked her to make a particular drink less sweet, she was happy to accommodate. We sat in the back patio which was quiet, calm and pretty with its "Swedish wood" look. There was only one other table occupied outside (it was Memorial Day weekend). I ordered a "bowl" with kale, avocado, mushrooms, adzuki beans, broccoli, tofu, etc. It was very good but I wish there had been less kale and more broccoli (that's just my preference). The food was light but filling. I was happy with my order. All in all, everything was right about my dinner and experience. I need to put Wild Ginger on my short-list in the future! read more

I see they have lunch deals too. I liked my main, bo bun rice noodles--such a generous serving , there were leftovers for take away. The sauces for all the mains (cilantro , citrus) were full of flavor and not salty; the appetizer veggie tempura was crisp and not oily and also came with a great dipping sauce. Reasonable prices and good service--I had gone to Wild Ginger on Broome Street several times . I don't know if the restaurants are related , but this one is much better. This is another great addition to the food scene on Franklin. We went at brunch and found everything incredibly flavorful. The brunch menu comes with coffee or tea, rice, quinoa kale salad and the oyster mushrooms were a great! My friend is a vegetarian so it is always nice when she can have everything on the menu.
