Given some of the other reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect from my visit to Mozzarella Crown Heights. I was pleasantly surprised! I think it really depends what you order. I have to say that the staff were very nice and conscientious. I found the prices to be a little on the high side. Ordered: Eggplant Parmesan- this dish was pretty disappointing. Part of the eggplant wasn't tender and I'm pretty sure it's because it wasn't cooked long enough. The flavor was fine overall but the partially cooked eggplant took away from my experience. Pizza Napolitana $24- this was the best thing we ordered for sure! The pizza had fresh mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, ricotta and arugula on top. It was a generous size and I finished the pizza no problem because it was so good! If you come to Mozzarella, I highly recommend the pizzas! read more

Only tried the pizza. It was bad! Sauce was too heavily spiced, like Domino's. Bread was thick. Excessive amount of cheese which hadn't melted fully. Small personal pie for $20 is not worth it. I've had better Kosher pizza elsewhere. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how packed this restaurant was! There were even lines of people waiting for a table too. Thankfully they have a great staff who were super nice and efficient so they were really great at serving those seated for their meals and then quickly cleaning and turning the table over for the next set of patrons. The space is small but didn't feel cramped or overwhelming. Portion sizes are very generous and presented well. Prices are comparable as well. My faves of the night were the bruschetta, stuffed artichokes and the popcorn cauliflower! The desserts were quite good as well, a spot on classic vanilla crème brulee with a beautifully toasted crunchy sugar topping, a molten chocolate peanut butter souffle that needed another 2-3 min in the oven but the overall flavor was amazing, the waffle was perfectly crisp and just sweet enough, and one of the creamiest cheesecakes I've had in a long while. read more

We ordered their tacos. With a list price of $26 they were impossibly tiny. I never saw such a small excuse for a taco in my life They might have made a meal for a very tiny toddler. Where to begin?! My husband and I are huge foodies and we have been to many many restaurants and we KNOW good food. This was food was OMG!!! Sea bass skewers- the fish was so soft, so succulent, so incredibly addictive. Four cheese pizza, flavors of the cheeses amazing , though pizza could have been a little crispier but we will let it pass. Niçoise salad, sounds simple right ? But noooo, every part of the salad was fresh, crisp, and blended so well together. Dessert....well...creme brûlée- the silliness of the custard , the beautiful ramekin it was presented in....hands down this is one of my new favorite dairy places. The food is excellent but the waitor/ host/ management staff needs an improvement. First, when we arrived there was no host to seat us, and told to sit anywhere. The place was not crowded so we sat at a 4 person table instead of 2. After sitting for 15 min, drinking water looking at the menu and deciding, the waiter comes over and tells us we must move to a 2 seated table. I asked to speak to the manager who justified the waiters request, no apology for making us move like we were sheep in a cattle car. And he said we were told to sit in a 2 person table. Secondly, My friend's ice cream came and I had to wait 25 min after her for my salad!!!!! And to top it off, the 4 seated table that we originally sat remained empty the whole time we were there!!!! They used the 4 seated tables around it to seat customers.nSo they made us move for nothing. If you do go to enjoy the food, make sure you ask the waiter and make sure you can sit at the table. Also you may want to tell the waiters that you want all meals brought at the same time, unless you like sitting with no food while others are eating. read more

Great little dairy place in Crown Heights. The menu includes pizza, fish, pasta, salads, sandwiches and breakfast items. The items are reasonably priced. The atmosphere here is relaxed and cozy. They have lots of comfortable seating. They play elevator music in the restaurant. The waiters are friendly and courteous. The food is delicious. I had smoked salmon, egg, lettuce and cream cheese in a wrap for $9. It was really good. The combination of salmon and egg tasted delicious together. The ingredients tasted fresh. With that I had a Cappuccino. Nice, tall glass of Cappuccino for $5. The presentation of the entree and the drink were very nice also. They serve breakfast all day. I went here with my family during the Nine Days, and did not have the best experience. We were told that the kitchen was very backed up and that they couldn't submit our orders for 20 minutes. We got served our appetizer quicker than expected. The cigar rolls were pretty tasty and sweet, though the portion was very small. The cauliflower popcorn was a nice size, but unfortunately it was much undercooked to the point where there was raw batter. Though I didn't eat it, my family was so hungry they ate it anyway. We also ordered a kale salad with tuna. Soon after, we were told there unfortunately wasn't any tuna. However, we still very much enjoyed the salad. It was flavorful and fresh. After we got served only a few of the many dishes we ordered, we were asked if we were still waiting on more from the kitchen. We were still waiting on two entrees and a pizza. Unfortunately, due to the lack of organization, we all got served our food at different times, which was disappointing because we obviously wanted to eat together. We got the four cheese pizza, which was very very salty in our opinions and the pizza with the everything bagel crust which was enjoyed. My favorite item was the eggplant parm, but it was served in a pot-like thing with curved edges that made it difficult to cut. Lastly, we ordered the pasta alla puttanesca. They were out of penne so we got it with fettuccine which was fine. Overall, we were at the restaurant for quite a long time, we all got served our meals at different times, and we had a few issues with some of the food. read more

Read this to find out how a pleasant birthday outing turned into a waiter chasing after five middle-aged women and calling the POLICE, so he can get his tip! Last night, I decided to take my sister out to eat for her 58th birthday. We were a group of five middle aged women, just trying to relax and have a nice outing. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a hostile waiter. When I asked if my party has arrived yet, he barked "No they're not!"; he didn't even know who 'my party' was. Okay, that's weird. So, we sit down and order out food. Slowly, the food starts trickling out, one dish at a time, nothing coordinated. When the pizzas and pastas arrived, they were cold, so we asked for them to be reheated. The waiter snarkly took back our cold food to reheat it. Finally, it's time for dessert! We order four coffees and some ice cream. One coffee is served. We ask for the rest. He barks "we're getting it!" and, eventually, comes back with one more. We tell him we ordered four, not two. He finally shows up with one more (so only three of the four were served), but at that point we no longer needed the coffees, we were ready to go. We tell him we don't want it anymore. He says "No! take it! you're paying for it!". I couldn't believe what I was witnessing... Honestly, I felt bad for the poor boy, but he was just so rude and disgusting. We told him we won't be paying for the coffees and decided to pay the bill with a different server. We did not pay for the coffees that weren't served on time and, of course, did not leave a tip. As we walk out the front door, the waiter comes running after us, shouting "It's against the law! you must pay up the ten dollars!". At that point, we had enough, we told him off and let him know how rude he was, that we would not be paying for the coffees that we not served, and that he was not getting his tip. He threw a fit and started threatening to call the cops. I did not think he would actually call them. But, of course, I was wrong. Within seconds he had the cops on the line. He started describing us: "five women, in their 40's, one is wearing a red coat"; I could not believe it. It was surreal. Eventually, the manager showed up and told him to hang up. Needless to say, we won't be returning. Just a little business tip for Mozzarela, fire those twins. They don't know how to deal with people, never mind serve them... p.s. get the boys some help, a therapist, or something. I mean... you have got to be REAALLLYYY depressed to be screaming, at the top of your lungs, at five middle aged women, for ten dollars, on a Wednesday night. read more

Our family of 5 had brunch Sunday morning. Great selection of options from eggs to panini to full meals, all with a little twist like preserved lemon on a tuna and hard boiled egg baguette . We had some of the appetizers, sandwiches , eggs and panini and all enjoyed, even a nine-year- old. Service was excellent, restaurant is decorated quite nicely, creative and appealing. This was our second trip to Mozzarella. The food was very good the first time, so we tried it again. We both ordered the same items tonight and agreed that nothing was as good as it had been before. My husband got the eggplant parmigiana and I got grilled salmon with house potato wedges and zucchini. Everything was oily. Everything! I made myself a cup of tea when we arrived home to settle my stomach. It is doubtful that we will return. read more
