the outside of a fantastic deli
    Peter D.

Not only has the "Skyline Deli" renamed itself the "Fantastic Deli," but the sign now boasts that they are serving "Brooklyn's Best Food." Things They Are Not. 1. Modest. 2. Serving Brooklyn's Best Food. Things They Are. 1. A reliable spot for fairly cheap, tasty sandwiches. 2. Open 24 hours. 3. Somewhere I'll be buying many a $5.50 #15.* 4. Right next to the R train. 5. Somewhere I'll be back for a cheesesteak, because it looked surprisingly good. ___________ *Chicken cutlet, melted cheddar, jalapenos, sweet peppers, mayo, lettuce, tomato. That's a lot of stuff for only $5.50. And it was sizable, and pretty damn good, too.

Now that is some big azz Bacon!!!!

This is going to be my new breakfast spot without a doubt. It's an "in and out" deli. By that I mean you order your food, get your food, pay and get out. They seem to be fast, efficient and reliable. The prices are matched with other places nearby and the quality of food is better than most. You can order through Seamless and/or Yelp for much faster service. If you order online there is also no minimum. They have a prepared menu you can choose from or create your own. They have a $6.00 minimum for credit and debit cards which is also average for the area. The cashier staff is also friendly and efficient.

Chicken salad sandwich. Dry and disappointing.
    Amy R.

Ordered from here for breakfast and lunch. Really disappointing food. Their egg sandwich was alright (even though they didn't toast the bagel like I asked) and their hash browns were pretty good. But their chipotle chicken salad sandwich was awful. The roll was small and there was a tiny amount of chicken salad on it so the sandwich overall was not filling. The chicken salad was super dry and not flavorful. Also, I asked for plain chips and they gave me salt and vinegar chips, which I hate. Won't be ordering from here again.

Good portions. Tasty chicken cutlet sandwiches. 8 dollars?? Beats every sandwich shop in price.

I used to work in the area and I would always order for delivery. Food is average, but a little expensive.

I waited for about 45 minutes, while waiting I picked up my chips and a white peach ginger ale. I also talked to the girl in front and she explained that you can get your sandwhich on a hero or roll. I ordered a chopped honey turkey with onions, pickles, lettuce and mayo. The guy who made my sandwich was soo friendly and patient. I just put my trust in him to hook it up lol. He also asked if I wanted to add the chips and I did. Overall my sandwhich was better the next day after it firmed up. The flavor was good but the texture was soft, mushy and just not what I want in a turkey sandwhich. It ran me about 12.00 and it was worth the experience.

Definitely a place for you to pick up a sandwich that won't break the bank.

Then came the beef brisket on rye with a cup of au jus for dipping... and brother, that dip should be studied by scientists. Pure perfection. I went with two friends so were able to try three different sandwiches and to be honest, they were all just alright. The food: Roast Pork Special- Fried Eggplant, Provolone, Broccoli Rob- The texture of the pork came off a bit dry, the eggplant was good but kinda gets lost in the sandwich so if I literally had it on it's own I would have appreciated it more but who eats fried eggplant by itself? The rob was nice it added a nice crunch but didn't offer that much flavor. Giuseppe Special- Eggplant parm, meatballs, melted mozzarella. I couldn't get over how soggy the bread was. It was like wet paper towel to me. Soggy bread and everything kinda tasting the same made it underwhelming. Nicky Special- It just tasted like salad in between bread. There was so much veg, that was the main thing I remember in that sandwich.
