I've lived in the area for over five years and finally made the decision to grab lunch here with a friend. I got the sittin pretty avo toast and she got the rude boi sandwich. Both were delish. Felt like we left nourished and refreshed. Everything was high quality and honestly I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their warm bowls.

Order Prospect Heights bowl and got a giant bug in my food. Manager called to apologize but insted tried to justify the issue saying that the bug came with arugula

This is my second visit since moving to Prospect Heights earlier this month. Cute neighborhood spot with great food, coffee, and service. We've had the Prospect Heights bowl, the Queen Caesar Salad, the mushrooms grain bowl so far and everything has been delicious. Quickly becoming a neighborhood staple!

Health food cafe with plenty of options and dietary accommodations. There's a laidback, neighborhood feel and staff have always been friendly. For someone that's trying to eat clean, this spot uses fresh ingredients that work really well together. The prices are hefty but the portions make up for it on most of the items. Great spot in the Prospect Heights area! Below is a breakdown of what I ordered, along with my thoughts. Asterisks (*) indicate items I especially enjoyed and would recommend ordering again. *The Nurrita Breakfast Burrito ($16) - One of favorites here. It's packed with veggies, eggs, and potatoes. You can forget the hot sauce since this burrito does not miss! Queen Caesar Wrap ($17) - As caesar wraps go, I'm not mad about this one. It's pretty one-dimensional with a decent amount of chicken. Some citrus and croutons would level it up.

The salad was solid, but didn't blow me away. I got the Can't Get Enuf Salad with Shrimp and first of all can I say that I was shocked that adding shrimp was only $3. It was the same price as adding chicken. I kept being shocked by how high NYC prices are, but this blew me away in the opposite direction. The shrimp was delicious and worth way more than the $3. The salad itself had all the makings of something I would love, hard boiled egg, avocado, blue cheese, red onions, but something felt slightly lacking. It honestly felt like a salad I could make at home, which is never good. Maybe it was the balsamic vinaigrette which was basic. I think sometimes the dressing makes the salad and this one was just ok. There are some seats inside and some outside. Most people were grabbing to go and when I first got there every seat was taken. I moved to sit at the bar looking out the window since I was solo and didn't need to take up a whole table. Everyone working here seemed super nice and there's a restroom. I learned later that this isn't the case for every restaurant so I'm glad they had a restroom here.

Enjoyed a quick bite and smoothie recently and had a good experience. Ordering was easy, and the food was pretty quick to come out. They had a ton of options for breakfast bites, bowls, smoothies, and coffee. I ordered a croissant sandwich which was good, and the smoothies were delicious as well.

Healthy and nourishing food that is excellently sourced. Nurish is a vital staple in BK and New Jersey; it offers a vast menu of food that is simple, fresh and tasty. I usually get the brioche and egg sandwich and a latte. Also, I occasionally get the chicken sausage added into my egg and cheese. A tad on the pricey side but you know it's going to who works at Nurish and the ingredients cannot be topped. Truly a treasure - the owner does great work

Love Nurish. It's a great casual but cute Thai place with tasty food and a very nicely decorated interior. I'd highly recommend sitting in their back area (it's a little quieter and has more space). As far as food goes they have all the normal options and more! Service is solid and you can't go wrong with their pad Thai. They also have lots of cute cocktails that I look forward to trying the next time I come for dinner!

Stopped into Nurish today for a quick bite between errands. I had no idea that this magical place existed. On a bright Sunday afternoon it was empty and I was able to sit anywhere. I ordered a delicious breakfast sandwich called "Bragging Rights," with a cup of espresso infused coffee-Partners brand. The coffee is strong just the way I like it. There's outdoor seating but I chose to dine inside while Curtis Mayfield and other great 70s tunes played. I like Nurish. I'll be back.

Made my own salad bowl with lemon chicken

I appreciated the salad that I had. I made my own salad with mixed greens, roasted zucchini and broccoli, tomato, and lemon chicken. This was a huge salad, so I now understand the price that I paid! My first thoughts were I'm pretty sure I just overpaid for a salad ($17) but when I dug right into it for lunch, I can see that I got my money's worth. The portions are huge. They did not skimp on the broccoli and zucchini... this honestly felt like a homemade salad. The lemon chicken was not my favorite. But I wasn't feeling the jerk chicken option because I had just worked out and wasn't sure if my belly would be ok with that. Lol. However, I was very satisfied with the amount of chicken that I got. Something that I think I would have preferred is that my veggies and chicken weren't cold. But I see that I could have opted for a warm bowl. So I'm not upset about it. I think I should have just took the time to understand the menu better. Other than that, I was pleased with my salad. The cafe itself is pretty small. It's not for large parties. More like for parties of 1 to sit and take a breath or to even work at. The vibes were pretty chill inside. It is definitely a grab and go spot for those working in the area, like me! There is outdoor seating but it's limited. Every table was occupied with satisfied customers. The staff that assisted me were warm and welcoming. The pre-ordered meals are actually placed at a table in the front. But I missed that and asked the staff members behind the counter for help. They were happy to help me. Overall, I recommend this spot! Would love to return to try something other than a salad next time. :)

Spinach Egg Fritatta on a bed of Spring Mix Greens

Nûrish: Soul food that's good for the body too! When on vacation, you might be tempted to throw away a nutritious diet and indulge in food that may taste good but not so good for your health. What if it's possible to have both taste and nutrition? In the Prospect Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, you can have both at Nûrish restaurant on the corner of Washington Avenue and Bergen Street. I needed some fuel after spending most of my morning at the Brooklyn Public Library perusing the Book of HOV exhibit. So, before continuing to the Africa Fashions exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, I looked for a place to eat. I could have had a walking lunch with all the food trucks lining the streets around Grand Army Plaza, but I also wanted to have a sit-down diner-type experience. I found it at Nûrish. The restaurant has a menu on the wall, but I didn't want anything with added sugar or from concentrated juice. So I asked for more info and decided on the Sea Side, a delicious apple, lemon, and orange blend. I chose the Spinach Fritatta for my main course. The chef warned me it would take 15 minutes to bake my eggs. I welcomed the wait. Sometimes, you want some home cooking even when you're on the road. The chef filled the frittata with cheese, spinach, and grape tomatoes. All laid out on a bed of spring greens mix. Just what my body and soul needed to get me through the rest of the day!

Taim - OG Falafel Pita sandwich

Taim

Downtown Brooklyn

I have been a big fan of Taïm since their days as a lonely outpost in the Village. Since that time…read morethey have turned into a franchise and locations are popping up in some of the most unexpected places. While walking down Hoyt Street in downtown Brooklyn I saw the Taïm logo out of the corner of my eye and I knew I had to check it out. This location is located at the base of a new(ish) residential building and I found myself thinking about how great it would be to have a Taïm right downstairs from where I lived! The interior is an open space with bright colors and light wood decor that is comforting and welcoming at the same time. To the right is a small counter at the window and there are seats to the left. Further on towards the right is a counter where you order via a screen. Near that is the "pick up" shelf for online orders. The counter and kitchen are towards the back. Overall it is a nice set up. Of course, the question one asks when visiting a franchise location is: is the food as good as I remember from the original? I am happy to report it IS! Here's what I had: Green Falafel This is the traditional falafel that first had me fall in love with Taïm. It is made to order so it is fresh. The outside is nice and crisp while the inside is still soft (but not chewy). The flavor is on point thanks to some fantastic seasoning. Add in their Tahini and Whipped Garlic and it's a wonderful dish. Harissa Falafel As you'd expect, this is basically their regular falafel with some spicy harissa seasoning added in. There is a nice bite this adds to their already awesome flavor. Pita with Hummus The pita bread in this combo is topped with Za'atar seasoning, giving it an extra savory flavor. The hummus is not plain, instead it is also seasoned giving it some nice flavor. Now, it does not beat the likes of Hummus Kitchen or Hummus Place, but for fast casual it is very good! The pita bread was soft and chewy with fantastic flavor. A perfect vehicle to deliver Hummus! I was very happy to find this location and will definitely visit again.

I wanted them to know there was plastic in the food in hopes of preventing others from eating plastic, and I wanted a refund since my meal was inedible after finding a foreign object in it (I was less than halfway done). The manager Kim looked at the plastic and looked at me like I had five heads and asked what it is I wanted it. I explained I'd like a refund, and she said best she could do was give me 30% back. I said there was plastic in my food, and I couldn't eat it and I wanted a full refund. She went on to tell me that their food is wrapped in plastic and it's possible it got in the food. She then held the plastic top to the container my meal was served in and said "well, this is plastic" implying that there was no difference between something being served IN plastic and plastic being MIXED IN my food. It's concerning a manager of a food establishment would be so flippant about patrons ingesting foreign objects. I was honestly so shocked by her behavior that I said she was crazy to suggest that and walked out with no refund at all. I would honestly stay away from here if you care about your safety and well being.
