Before coming into the salon, I made sure to call and make sure I wouldn't have a long wait. I notified the receptionist that I would be coming in for 2 pedicures, and she told us to arrive as soon as possible and we would not have a wait. When we arrived, she asked us to wait for about 10 minutes (which was fine) but after sitting for 30 minutes she began letting in customers for pedicures who had arrived 10-15 minutes after us. When I asked her why she had let them in before us since we had been waiting for such a long time so told me that they were "coming in for pedicures" and the whole time was waiting to sit us with the manicure technician. I have come here twice now, the first time for a full set of gels with a pink and white ombré, and the second time for a fill. I saw Sophia both times and she's the best! I've been getting acrylics/gels for a long time and have never been as happy with them as I am now. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she got the ombré, and the shape perfect!! I had waited too long to get them filled so she suggested that I should just get a whole new set. I told her I wasn't trying to spend a lot of money since it's the holidays and just want them to look nice, and she completely understood and did not try to push me to spend more. Even after only doing my nails once before, she knew I would love their new chrome/metallic polish and suggested I should try it, and of course I love it! This is honestly the worst place to get your nails done. I got acrylic nails and they literally fell off days after getting them done. This is due to not a strong even base being put on. Best atmosphere if any nail salon I have ever been to. Very clean, which is important to me. I don't ask for any particular tech, and, of course, some are better than others. All (except one and she is no longer there) have been above average, polite, professional. I moved to crystal lake 10 months ago and tried several places before settling on this one. Some of the reviews complain that service is "rushed". I am very busy and prefer to get in and out as efficiently as possible, so this is actually a "plus" for me. I had a no chip yesterday. Okay. I have been to this place once before and I had an amazing experience. But this visit completely ruined my view for this spa. I get there expecting a gel fill as I have done many times before. So I sit down and the guy says "$37 okay?" I said "yes sounds good". He then proceeds to examine my nails and noticed that they are a bit grown out (as they are normally). And decided that "we need to start over". And proceeds to rip off my nails and ruin my nail beds. Then he says "okay it's going to be $52 total okay". So he's telling me that I'm going to pay him 15 MORE DOLLARS, for him to destroy my nails. As a person who cannot go a day without their nails done I said whatever just do what you gotta do. This guy proceeds to take 2 hours to do my nails! It normally only takes one. Meanwhile he has not cleared with me in shape, color or length. So now I have nails that are completely the wrong shape and very short. But at least the color is okay. So thank you so much LT Nails for wasting my money and time. read more

Very clean and beautiful salon. I had a very relaxing pedi with Crystal. She did a great job and I'm definitely going to be back. Every nail tech opens a new nail file set for each customer which is then given for the customer to take home - this is a huge perk to know that I don't have to worry about the cleanliness of the supplies. Another plus is the choice of colors and polish brands. I used to go to another salon close by but my color choices there mostly included shades of red and pink mixed with few odd balls like lime green. I've been coming here to get my nails done for a while now and every time has been great service! I always make sure to have an appointment just in case but they do take walk-ins. Some people have mentioned they don't like how the staff isn't very social and I brought it up to my tech, who said that some people don't want to talk and would rather have a relaxing environment. Or the tech is wanting to focus on giving you the best design or service! If you're the type who chit-chats then there are plenty of techs who will talk to you! Aimee is my go to gal and she does a great job! They always use new tools that you see then open up and know it's been cleaned and sterilized! I'd much rather pay a little extra to know the equipment they used is clean. Other places in town I've tried have used their OWN FINGERS to scratch off my excess no-chip polish, without even washing their hands or anything!! Very unsanitary, this never happens at LT! They are the only people I trust anymore to do my no-chip polish changes! Pedicures, manicures and even eyebrow waxing has been great! The best place in town! Had gone to LT nails for about a year and was very happy with it. Ivy had been my tech. About 3 months ago the work became very poor. I'd leave looking like I had a weeks growth. The first time I went there was probably the best experience I had. I got a no-chip manicure and it turned out beautiful and lasted for days. The woman who did them was nice and would talk to me. However, the second time I went, I received TERRIBLE customer service. The nails were beautifully done though. The man's name was Bob and he just kept giving me dirty looks every time and he wouldn't even try talking to me. The quality of the nails are great and so are the prices. I went for the first time today to get the SPA pedicure #2 That's supposedly supposed to have 25 minute massage and be long and relaxing. My pedicure as a whole was 25 minutes. I was very disappointed in the whole process. I spent extra money to get a full massage that didn't happen. She was definitely rushing. I also have a terrible pain around my one of my toenails. About a month ago I went into there salon and was greeted by a lovely very polite, well mannered young woman. I requested a waxing of my eyebrows and the receptionist offered me a water while I waited. I waited about 5 minutes which was pretty fast compared to other salons. My one star is simply for the niceness of the facility and the fact that they were able to take me early. Everything else about my visit was horrible. I arrived for a pedicure and was not given any direction about where to go or where to sit. After rudely being snapped at to sit down in one of their pedicure chairs, I was then snapped at because I reflexively started to put my feet in the water too soon. After the water was ready, I was not asked about the temperature and I had to ask her to turn it down. She pushed a menu at me, I asked for the basic $25 pedicure, and she immediately pushed a deluxe pedicure on me by saying "Deluxe pedicure real good - you want that?" Despite the hard sell, I declined and she visibly changed her demeanor to one of even littler care. Throughout the pedicure she talked in another language to the gentleman next to her and only grunted at me when I was to switch feet. Afterwards, she sat me at the drying station and I never saw her again. I also had to go on a search for the polish that I brought myself. I was so frustrated when I left and even more frustrated when I got home and realized I still had calluses on the bottom of my feet! I guess you get what you pay for... As I am typing this, I am in great physical and emotional pain. My fingers are burning like I just dunked them the sauce for KFC's Nashville Hot Chicken! These people cut my cuticles down waaaaay to far and when I went back to complain, they started insulting me. They told me they should have charged me double for having to work on my "fat toad fingers." I was very upset because I HATE toads, but just then the owner came out from the back. She told me that they could give me a coupon for my troubles. However, when she pulled out the coupon, she just lit it on fire and used the burning card to light her cigarette. I couldn't believe it! She then said I have 10 seconds to get my "pale American behind" out of her store before she started using my mouth as an ashtray. read more

I have been a loyal customer to LT Nail Salon since they opened. I usually have a good experience with Jenny and Tina. However, this last experience was so awful I will not ever be returning. First of all I had an appointment with Jenny for no chip and Thomas for pedicure. When I arrived they said sorry but Jenny is not here. So I had another young girl do both. She did not have a name tag so I do not know her name.. maybe Nancy? She rushed through the entire thing, but that was the best part about it, sadly. I wanted a mint green and when she applied it to my nail it was too light. So I politely asked if I could switch to a different color and she replied laughing and said, "I'm gunna kill you." I said excuse me? and she walked away. So she then brought back a very light pink and I did not want that color, she then stomped her foot and said well then you walk over there and pick your color." Unfortunately she was the same person to do my nails. So I didn't get either person that I had a reservation with. During my manicure she kept telling me to stop moving and was gossiping to the people in the salon. I was so uncomfortable, I will never come back! I only wanted my no-chip Polish removed when I went in to this place. They kept insisting that I get a mani, and I resisted, until I saw that $5 for no-chip removal left goobs of glue on shitty looking, unfinished nails, so I caved. When I was done with the mani (for and additional $15), there were rough patches all over my nails, and still remininents of glue. You could literally still see the lines from the nail file. So I pointed out the glue - she then proceeded to file my nails to oblivion with the roughest nail file. And then said I was done. I asked if they even bothered to polish them for the $20 I just paid. And she told me it was an additional $5. So I paid $25 to get no-chip removed, leaving me with shitty, thin nails. Not recommended. It's going to take months to grow back decent nails now :( read more

Update to Review....I have to adjust my rating of this salon since some of the things I loved about it originally no longer exist. Yes, it is still one of the better nail spas in the area but not as good as a few others that I have been to. Originally all the technicians were english speaking, friendly & wore an uniform/apron...overall very professional. Yes the technicians are still friendly but not all speak english. During one of my last visits I had to explain what I wanted to an english speaking tech so she could describe what I needed to my non-English speaking tech. Also, I have noticed the technicians have started to have conversations across the room with each other while they are working on my nails. They also have these conversations in another language but in my opinion it doesn't matter if it is in english or not...it is just unprofessional. Another change I noticed is there is more casual attire. The technicians used to wear an uniform/apron which put them a step up from all the other nail salons and gave off a higher end spa like feel. Something about walking into a salon/spa where all the technicians are put together, rather it be in a uniform or all black, makes me feel like they will have that same attention to detail during my service. This of course is not something needed, but is always nice. Overall, this is still one of the better salons in the area and I always walk away with a great mani or pedi but they are defiently not as great as when they originally opened. I only hope that the owner will read this along with the other reviews and make the necessary changes to help make this the best nail salon again. read more

Started coming here with my daughter since opening. The place is nice and nail selection good. But then I started to request certain people and they would tell me that they are really busy. I would wait for them only 5-10 min. Today was the worst day! My daughter couldn't get the person she preferred so I ask Jenny if there would be someone that could do just as good a job for designs as her, she gave her the next random person in line. Wait till you see what kind of "design" the lady gave her! A 5 year old child could do a better job! It is dark in the salon so I couldn't get a good look until we got home. She never even ask my daughter if she liked it! They charge me $14 dollars extra for the design that the lady did but the lady never mentioned the extra charge! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE JOB! Would have appreciated if they would have told me that there is no one available to do designs! My daughter is so sad and upset! I called the salon and told them what a terrible job she did! They wanted me to come back with my daughter to fix it. She did not want to go back to the salon. I just said never mind and hung up. Never going back now! They are over priced for what they do! Wish I could give a 0. Made appointment for Sunday at 4 pm and got Daniel. First time after a recommendation. All I can say is I will NEVER be back! The worst over expensive mani/pedi I have ever received. I recently relocated from the East coast. Brought my own lotion and Daniel said he hated it and recommended going into your pantry and using any oil you have at home, so rude as I love my lotion! What is the point of using lotion when you wipe it all off? Leave it on. I then asked him to make my mani round/square and he said he never heard of that. What?! Don't want them square or round! Then I asked him if he could make all my nails the same length and he said which one? What?! That means you have to go with the shortest nail. After he completed my nails, some were not filed correctly as they were catching on things, so had to file my own nails. Daniel should be fired for being so rude!!! read more

I got to my appointment a little late and I was worried they would be rude since they were supposed to close 30 minutes after I got there. I was scheduled for a no-chip manicure which we all know is time consuming. Well I was with Calvin and he was awesome! Very polite and kind, and did an awesome job. I don't live in Crystal Lake but I know that if I am ever in the area again and need my nails done, I will definitely be coming back and asking for Calvin!
