Recently, went in for a gel fill and pedi, worked with Ben for the first time. He was nice, but rather aggressive with the tools he used on both services, he also didn't properly polish nor remove the previous color thoroughly. I have several cuts and bubbles in my nail polish. $90 is obviously not worth it!! So upsetting!! read more

I scheduled an appointment for 11:30. Definitely recommend calling ahead of time if you can. Staff was very nice. My tech was detail oriented and not rushed which I appreciated. They do prefer cash or electronic payments like Zelle or Venmo but you do get a discount punch card for paying these ways. The only downside is minimal seating when waiting for your services. Update on my review. The owner doesn't seem to know what professional is! Both times I visited this place I had made an appointment 3 DAYS in advance. I walked out crying the last time because my nails looked atrocious and the lady was extremely rude to me as well as the owner who was sitting next to her. After posting my initial review of one star, the owner messaged me asking me to take down my review in return of a refund. Super unprofessional and against Yelp policy. Some advice I would leave for anyone looking to get their nails done at Twees, is that sometimes even if you make an appointment you will still be waiting for a while (especially in busier times of the year like summer, spring break, ect.) so try to go during a weekday morning as a walk-in. read more

went with my daughter last night for no chip manicures. My daughter is 10, and they wouldn't let us sit next to each other, or even remotely near one another. They rushed through the service. We were in and out in under 30 minute. I paid almost 100.00 for our manicures, and tipped over 20%. my no chip manicure did not even last 24 hours. We leave for vacation tomorrow and have no time to go back and get it fixed. I went in here for a walk in full set with no chip polish. I was out at the station right away and it took about 10 minutes for someone to come over. Nail tech, Tom, was very nice and made sure I liked everything as we went through the appointment. I will clarify however that the total was $90 which included nails mani and pedi. It was NOT $90 for only the manicure. The pedi was rough and again not filled to the bottom. But I don't have pictures of that so I didn't want to add it without proof. I posted the experience late because I have a very busy schedule, but it still counts. I went to get acrylic nails for my birthday and they made them so thin they broke off within two days. The liquid that they use for the acrylic nails look really watered down it wasn't that darker purple color it normally is. I told him the nails look kind of thin and he just ignored me. When I was taking the rest of what was left of the nails off it was like I i was taking off gel polish by how thin it was. And it was also kind of weird because it came off so easily off my nail bed and it was super Bendy. I paid $65 so I could have the nails all of two days. read more

Came here last week because my regular salon couldn't fit me in. The man who did my acrylic nails did them very fast and I had to point out gapping in one. Fast forward a week and I've now got fungus on another nail because he missed the gapping on another nail (most likely because he was either too busy answering the phone or working at a breakneck speed). I came back to have him remove the nail today and made an appointment for 2pm and wasn't seen until 2:30. The station was very dirty, his hands were dirty, no apology and he hurt me while dremmling the nail and again answering the phone! He was then going to put more "pink" OVER the gross green fungus on my nail! Jesus... I don't need a trip to the ER next week Twees Nails. Buyer beware of these dirty practices. read more

But I'm sorry to say I didn't like it I was switched around musical chairs an I had appointment then I got Sophia she was not in a good mood. I started to tell her that I like on the nails Square and she told me I know what I do... so I kept quiet apparently she didn't know what she was doing. My favorite place to get a pedicure. A lot of different colors to choose from and the best massage chairs. They always do a great job.

This was my first time at Twee's and I was very pleased with my pedicure and my feet feel better than they've felt after previous pedicures. I love that everything is disposable vs. half sterilized. Mary was my tech, she took her time and did a phenomenal job. My cuticles were trimmed perfectly, my heels are very soft and smooth, and there is no polish on my cuticles. The massage chairs are wonderful! Typically, I don't have manicures because I garden daily but I am so pleased with the service I decided to do so my next trip. read more

I use to love going here. Everyone was friendly and they did an excellent Job. However my last 3 trips here have been terrible and I won't go back. They have been rude and very aggressive when doing my nails. They have made cuticles bleed the last several times. I'm a nurse so I put alcohol on my hands hundreds of times everyday. So having even a paper cut stinks. It's not terribly painful but annoying. Even after I ask them to take extra care not to cut them to much. I have a had a great experience at this salon the last few times that I have gotten a pedicure and no chip manicure. The new owners have decorated the salon nicely, and are super nice! I love this place and will definitely keep coming back. Update 8/24/19: This is a nice salon and the woman owner is nice as well; however, if you do not have an appointment you will not get in. I personally do my nails on a whim, and this place will no longer will be my go to salon. I've tried FOUR times to just walk in and was told to come back later. I purposely looked for a five star salon and that's what I got. From the time I called and made an appointment for a no chip manicure / pedicure, the staff was friendly, honest, and very accommodating. I walked in and they kindly greeted me. The salon is very clean and updated. The pedicure massage chairs were computerized on a little iPad and they used were updated with acrylic guards and bath liners for COVID. I believe I had the owner when I got my nails done and he did such a great job on the full set with the design I wanted. I did go there on a Friday so I understand it's busy and he's running a business but he did not take me at my appointment time, he took me 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment. He also stoped doing my nails at one point to start taking off someone else's polish. He also stoped doing my nails multiple times to take phone calls to schedule other peoples appointments. I am understanding I get it it was busy but I had a dinner reservation with my boyfriend after my appointment. Also my nails were $70 so if I'm paying that much for my nails I think that he should be giving me his full attention during my appointment. it was frustrating being that was my first time there. It was my birthday today and I wanted to treat myself to a pedi! The experience was sub par. When it came time to do the massage of the legs and feet the lady only did my legs! She never massaged my feet. That's the whole point of a pedi when you get the foot massage. When I asked her about it she dismissed me, and went to the next customer. I approached Tom the owner to ask him why I didn't get the full experience and he kept arguing with me that it's more on the leg then the feet. What??!?!? Ive never heard of that! Ive been coming here for 2 yrs and never had a problem. Needless to say after coming here for 2 years I won't be returning, and shocked that I was treated so poorly after being a customer for 2 yrs. My friend introduced me to Twee's nails last October and I have been going consistently since! I have had great experiences with the entire staff, everyone is so nice and accommodating. Joyce and Tom are wonderful, along with the rest of the staff. Color options are great and they have always done a fantastic job. Don't even get me started on their massage chairs and the fact that they have the Great British Baking Show on each time. It's a little dose of self-care! I chose to visit this salon for a pedicure for the first time because on google I had searched 'Nail Salons in Crystal Lake' and M. M m this salon had the most reviews with the best rating. Sitting in my chair now, the employees are very nice. The pedicure is great and to my surprise they use disposable heel/callus scrubers and disposable sticks that get dirt out from under nails which I appreciate more rather than some salons that shove them in a UV sterilizer and rinsing the callus scrubber in the bowl that my feet are in. Their carts are very clean and I got a nice massage. Around noon on a Monday when I came in they had 5 workers, were busy & I got in right away! I only gave it a 4 star because I wish they would have different pedicure options rather than just 1 type of pedicure. The cuticle cutting was very good and they didn't hurt me. The polish job was great as well she got the whole nail and all the edges, it also wasn't streaky or uneven. It amazed me how many nail polishes they have too, such a large variety, thank you Twee's Nails. read more
