Ok if you're looking for THE NAIL SALON- look no further. I came in desperate and broken from a bad nail salon and Nancy took me in and gave me the best nails I've ever had! And I am not an easy client by any means, I get designs and acrylic overlay, and when I say designs I mean it. She brings any idea and vision I have to life! And the pedicures are amazing and my feet have never felt or looked better. Very friendly family oriented staff, seriously feels like I've been going here for years because of how comfortable you feel. My daughter and her friends went there for a birthday. She showed the nail tech a picture of what she wanted, but the shape and length were nowhere near what she asked for. After she was done, I went in there to kindly let the manager know that she was disappointed and the nails were not what she asked for. The manager implied that it was her fault because she didn't speak up that they cut the nails too short. They also didn't file them or shape them properly. She asked for round and they made them square. The manager then said her nail bed was too wide. She has small nails. Isn't it the nail techs job to ensure the customer is happy? The manager was not empathetic to the situation at all and was very rude. She offered a 10 dollar credit to which I shared I wouldn't go back (so thats not helpful) especially after reading the other negative reviews. After I left, I went back in to ask a question and they were talking about the situation loudly with all the other customers there.... not professional at all. Very interesting and not customer friendly experience. Bottom line, if you go there... it's your job to ensure they know what they are doing... showing a picture is not enough. Went in Monday, they were very nice and re did them but it is now Tuesday ( like the next day) and they are peeling AGAIN!! So frustrated!! I didn't get in until 2:55, but asked Paul how long it'd take as I had another appt to get to... he said 30min, and sure enough, I was out by 3:30. What a horrible experience me and my friend had at this place. The day after we got our NO CHIP manicures done they started chipping. They curled up at the bottom of them and chipping on the top of the nail. My friend went back 2 days after because how bad hers were chipping and they re did them for her..... and surprise they started chipping almost right away! My daughter got her acrylics done at Queens. Within the same week two nails cracked off. The acrylics were two thin but when she went in to get them fixed they were rude (especially the man at the front station doing nails) and tried and blamed it on her that the nails were too long. They rush and do a very crappy job. I will never go back there or my daughters. read more

The only nail place my family and friends have gone to for years! They have changed owners in the last couple of years and the new owners really are top notch! Their facility is clean and updated! And that's very important especially when getting a pedicure. They use brand new tools, still in the package, on each customer that is getting a pedicure and they are reasonably priced! I went to this nail salon to get my nails done for my nieces wedding. I had an older gentleman (station 4) do my nails. I found him to be rude and demeaning to me. He then proceeded to file my nails so roughly that three (3) of my fingers started to bleed. My nails hurt for days after, I don't know why I didn't say something when I was in there but he was so aggressive with me and he spoke down to me. Then when it came time to pay, he stood there with his hand out with a weird smile on his face waiting for a tip. I guess the reason that I didn't make a scene was that I was there with the wedding party and everyone else seemed to be having a great time. I didn't want to spoil the experience for everyone else. I would NOT recommend this place, especially this older gentleman. The cuts on my fingers have healed but the memory of his aggressiveness is still there. DO NOT GO HERE read more

In an age where people only like to say something if it's a complaint- thought I would give a "thumbs up" to Queen Nails. My daughter and I love to go for pedi/manis together. We make a morning of it and will go to a favorite spot for breakfast as well. We live in McHenry and have always felt pretty strongly that it's only right to support OUR local business in the town where we live! However , since 1978 I/we have tried several in our home town. I've time the more comfortable we have gotten at a nail salon , the more their services go from good to disappointing. Now onto Crystal Lake. Decided to give Queen Nails a try. Best decision ever. I had a terrible experience - the man was so forceful on my hand and knuckles at the end during the massage/trying to crack knuckles that I had to take painkillers and my hand and fingers are swelling. Ive been terrible pain for days. I'm young and don't have arthritis. My manicure didn't even look that great anyways. First time I went here for a no chip manicure it lasted less than a week. I haven't been back in awhile until I went today with a coworker who really likes the place. The staff is super friendly and nice and I noticed they knew several patrons by name! The girl I had did my no chip very quickly (appreciated!) but overall a poor job. After I got home I noticed my right thumb and several fingers on both hands had glob-like bumps on the edges... Almost looking like the polish was too thick or it was smeared and then dried funny. I have never had this happen at any place I have gotten a no chip before. I am guessing it was because she went so fast? I will definitely NOT be going back here... My nails look very poor!! I now understand one of the reasons for the low rating of this business. I arrived five minutes before my appointment. Someone approached me after my appointment start time and said it would just be a few minutes. It is very clear they wouldn't have been ready for me at my appointment time as all techs were just beginning with customers. I asked if having an appointment mattered and was told yes, but other people extended their services unexpectedly and that pushed back the ability to meet my appointment time. We will not start my appointment until at least 30 minutes late. What I wonder is if you do not honor appointments, why do you accept them? I respect you and you're commitments by being on time. I asked for normal short almond acrylic set and they gave me square and no-chip gel which was $20 more. there was nail polish on my fingers and not applied correctly. Some of my nails were crooked after a couple of days the gel started to peel off. They cut me several times and my cuticles were bleeding and uneven. read more

I can't believe what happened to me at this salon today. I have been using the same nail technician, Ann, once a month for pedicures for the past two years with my daughter. Just as Ann was finishing my pedicure she tells me that when I was there a month ago I tipped her but, didn't pay for the pedicure. I didn't believe that for a second because I always hand her my credit card as soon as I sit down at the drying table and then when I'm dry I get up and put her cash tip on her table and leave. Sometimes she is not available to process my credit card and someone else processes my card for her while I'm drying. After having been accused of not paying when I was there a month ago, I immediately pulled up my credit card statement and showed her that the salon charged me $25 for my pedicure on October 30th, one month ago. She said that she doesn't have a ticket showing that I paid. I told her that I didn't pay her because she had left, I paid someone else that works there. I don't know all of their names nor did I remember who I paid but I was certainly charged and I proved it to her. I felt like once I showed her my statement showing the salons name, date and amount she would apologize for the accusation and it would be over. Nope....other employees started to chime in saying we remember you leaving the tip but no one charged your credit card. What the hell, I just proved it to them! What do these idiots think that I can go to a bank website and make up a whole statement. If some hacker knows how to do that in the 2 minutes that I produced my statement, great, but I certainly can't create a false website with charges on my card in 2 minutes. Personally, I think whoever I paid took credit for the pedicure and is burning Ann but the truth is that once I proved to them that I paid it became an internal problem....Not mine! read more

I had a great experience there. As soon as I got there I was seated to get my gel fill done. The girl was super nice and did a great job on my nails. My best friend, mother and I all go there and it is great. Prices aren't bad and they make you feel comfortable. I love the color I got and even when one or 2 of nails started bubbling up, I told my technician and she fixed them right away and made sure I liked them. Absolutely wonderful service! Despite the salon being super busy due to it being graduation season, I was still catered to as if they weren't! The staff was incredibly attentive to what I wanted and made sure that I was getting exactly what I had in mind. I haven't been able to find a nail salon that was concerned more about what I needed/wanted over what they thought I wanted [or just did what they thought was best] for a very long time! Being someone who does a lot of crafting [crocheting and sewing most of all] my nail length and shape matter a great deal to me. I am always so hesitant to get gels because no matter how I ask for them to be shaped they always seem to be either too long or not round enough. This was the first nail salon I ever went to so I kept going back. I've since been to others and I now see how poor quality Queen is, my gel nails would crack and break off. They always rush you when you're trying to pick your color. One of the guys there is very unprofessional and will stop and scroll Facebook and respond to messages while he's doing your nails, so then it takes super long, this particular guy is always very rough on your hands and fingers bending them in unnatural ways and just constantly rubbing them so unnecessary. They also never file down the nail growth on the back of artificial nails as they grow out so then it becomes yellowed and peeling. Not going to this salon anymore. read more

We came here at 12:00 for our 12:00 appointment. Our first friend got her nails done after 30 minutes, and they look very messy. While we were waiting we were seated by the front of the salon, and in that time, 3 walk ins came and were treated first. After 1 hour of waiting 2 of my other friends got their nails done. After mine was poorly done, i went to pay and the card said it was declined. But my greenlight app said that it was paid successfully. So i paid twice for my nails. After 2 hours my last friend finally got seated for her pedicure. Although she was sitting there, there was no water in the pool. She sat there for 50 minutes, then they put water in, but it was freezing cold water. Then she finally got it done and it was very messy.
