It's not that the staff at those places lack skills, it's just a barber has different skills. I'm becoming more discerning, you see, distinguished you might even say. Or I guess that's the hope. I tried another place a few times before making an appointment here, and am I ever glad I did. Part of what makes a barber special is that they'll take a straight razor to the back of your neck, making things oh so neat. But sitting in this chair was the first time anyone said, "well, your hair does this cowlick thing in the back here, so let me shape it based on that." !!! It's possible all the others over the years had also seen the cowlick and just not commented on it, but that attention to detail, a detail specific to me and my head, is what has made this my new go-to.

Where do I begin? We had scheduled an appointment for 3 of us (3 pedicures, 2 fills, and one gel…read moremanicure) and when we got there, there were only 2 technicians. I didn't think this was an issue at the time. My mother and I were sat in pedicure chairs while my sister got her nails done first. My mother's pedicure took an hour and forty minutes (for a pretty routine pedicure) which meant I was sitting, soaking my feet for an hour and 40 minutes with no service. Finally I got my own pedicure done (again, a basic pedicure) and it was nothing to write home about, I still had dead skin left on my feet when it was all said and done. When I finally got to sit for my nails, I chose a simple dip powder refill. I've gotten my nails done in dip powder multiple times so I know that every time you get them filled, the technician starts from scratch. She did not. There was powder left from the time before (it was lime green, I can still see it) and the original tips were left on. By the time she put the clear coat on I could see every little scratch the rotary file had left on the nail and I was not happy. She offered to do a gel coat on top for free which I accepted. Fast forward 2 days, all of my gel coat came off. What was left was a matte black scratched mess. The day after, 2 of my nails broke which would not have happened if she started from scratch because I have never had a dip powder set break on me. The day after my nails broke, my mother's gel polish started popping off. Unacceptable. In summary, the quality of services rendered is subpar, the prices for these services are much higher than anywhere else, AND I was charged for removal (which is essential to the service) which has never happened before either. The wait time is absolutely ridiculous too, I can't think of a single person who would want to sit at a nail salon for 4 hours. Save yourself time, money, frustration, and dissatisfaction and do not go to this salon.

Tech recommended the most beautiful shade and was very happy with the result! The mani was another story. My nails are natural, and length is uneven. Which I am okay with. I don't do mani's very often but had a wedding. The tech asked if I wanted to keep length on my pinkies (longest length) and I said she cut trim some. Well, she cut down ALL my nails even below the length of the nail bed. Never in my life have my nails been trimmed so short. Like stubs. While a few of the nails were shorter, many of them had length. I didn't realize she had done this until she had finished the first hand, so at that point the damage was done. I didn't want to say anything to offend her at that point, but was upset about the situation. When she finished I told her that my nails were shorter than I wanted and that no other tech had ever cut my nails so short. And was there a reason she that? Her response was that she made her best judgment to cut them that way so they would grow out more evenly. That was not her choice to make. While she spent a lot of time shaping and cleaning my nails, I was very unhappy with the mani service, and don't want anyone else to experience what happened to me.

I did have a bit of stinging from the chemicals used but understood that to be only when trying to apply close to the lash line. I really liked the end results but noticed a couple lashes going in the wrong direction and not much of a tint on my bottom lashes. The service was $109 in total which did feel like a bit steep after seeing the end outcome. I recommend considering the service only if you truly have long, full lashes naturally.

I had hoped for a facial and the Aveda Aqua Massage. When I checked in for my appointments, they asked for my Groupon for the Aveda Sensory Facial. The Groupon was scanned and nothing was said to me. Not until I was in my robe and in the treatment room. The aesthetician told me that I had used a Groupon in the past (which must've been years ago) and they either couldn't honor it or I could use it towards paying the full price of the facial. I forgot if I had used one years ago. The aesthetician talked to me about my massage. And it was just a salt scrub. I said no it was supposed to be the aqua Massage. And she said that wasn't what was booked. And I don't do those you'd have to see a regular masseuse for that. I just agreed to go along because I wanted to have a nice experience, but it wasn't looking too good. The salt scrub was OK but if it lasted a half hour I would be surprised. Between the "hour" facial and the body scrub I was in the room for maybe an hour and a half. The service was OK. Then I went into the steam shower area, which is always nice. I got dressed and I went to check out at the front desk I wanted a copy of the receipt because of the difference in cost with the facial and the massage. The woman said we only email them. I should've waited for my email before leaving. When I did receive the email I had started driving. So on my receipt, they did not give me the full $79 credit that I paid for my Groupon. They only gave me $63 in credit. Also, there's a $4 additional charge on the receipt. I called back that afternoon and had to leave a message because the recording said they were busy. No one returned my call. I called back the following day and was told that the additional $4 charge was to help offset the cost of the keeping the exceptional experience at the Asha Salon Spa??? I was told that they only applied $63 of my Groupon because they have to pay Groupon the $16 back. And that's how Groupon makes money. I have never heard of that before and I've used Groupon for years. They stood by their comments. I sent an email to Groupon who was supposed to get back to me within a week. I have not heard from them. At this point, I don't think I'll be using Groupon. If I do use Asha Salon spa in the future, I would make sure and double check I have the services I wanted, the prices and the length of the treatment clearly defined before I checked in for my appointment.
