I have been here several times and the experience is typically very good. My last experience for a mani/pedi is mixed. The pedi was very good. Tech recommended the most beautiful shade and was very happy with the result! The mani was another story. My nails are natural, and length is uneven. Which I am okay with. I don't do mani's very often but had a wedding. The tech asked if I wanted to keep length on my pinkies (longest length) and I said she cut trim some. Well, she cut down ALL my nails even below the length of the nail bed. Never in my life have my nails been trimmed so short. Like stubs. While a few of the nails were shorter, many of them had length. I didn't realize she had done this until she had finished the first hand, so at that point the damage was done. I didn't want to say anything to offend her at that point, but was upset about the situation. When she finished I told her that my nails were shorter than I wanted and that no other tech had ever cut my nails so short. And was there a reason she that? Her response was that she made her best judgment to cut them that way so they would grow out more evenly. That was not her choice to make. While she spent a lot of time shaping and cleaning my nails, I was very unhappy with the mani service, and don't want anyone else to experience what happened to me. read more

Spa Bleu - Nails were cut down too short. - Blow Dry/Out Services Near Me - West Dundee, Illinois

I came out to Spa Bleu in West Dundee to get a Lash Lift and Tint. The West Dundee location has been around for 20 years and their second location in South Barrington for 15 years. I have never been to here before nor have I had this service done before. Upon arrival, there was a check in counter and merchandise displays. The reception staff seemed a bit disorganized with first thinking I was going to the general area but then changing to go to the spa area. They did offer water, coffee, or tea. The service room was rather bare with a treatment bed, equipment, sound machine, and millwork for supplies and sink access. Overall, the space did not wow me and could benefit from color and artwork. I had the pleasure of working with Taylor for my service. She was extremely kind, professional, and efficient with time. The entire service took 45 minutes. I did have a bit of stinging from the chemicals used but understood that to be only when trying to apply close to the lash line. I really liked the end results but noticed a couple lashes going in the wrong direction and not much of a tint on my bottom lashes. The service was $109 in total which did feel like a bit steep after seeing the end outcome. I recommend considering the service only if you truly have long, full lashes naturally. read more

Spa Bleü is an awesome Aveda product salon in St Charles, IL. You'll notice the laid back atmosphere when entering the location. Its modern decor lends itself perfectly to salon concept. Isabel did a great job with my cut and color. She asked questions regarding my cut, color and the way I intended to style my hair. read more

Spa Bleu is the gift I give myself! Long, long time client. Appreciate the relaxing environment of the salon and excellent service from stylists Katrina for hair and Megan for skin and nail care. Also trust that if they are not available any of the other staff would be great as well. Also had hair styled and make-up application for my daughter's wedding at Spa Bleu and was extremely happy with how I looked for that special occasion! Lastly, the membership opportunity allows me to have my own little cash stash, making budgeting for beauty services super easy. read more

This was an amazing experience! This Aveda brand salon offers stress relieving aromatherapy and a gentle massage to start. Julia was phenomenal. She listened to my issues and desires about my hair. She was very honest in the beginning, letting me know that my desires for hair color may not be possible with my hair. I would rather know the truth, instead of being told that it is possible and the results are disappointing. Julia got me where I wanted as far as color and cut. She went out of her way in conditioning and toning my hair as well. She also recommended some great products to help by my hair in the future. Great experience. read more

I took my two daughters here for a manicure. Our appointment started right on time - no wait. The nail technicians were nice & personable- they were also easy to understand which was wonderful so they knew what we wanted. Easy check out process - can tip on your card or in cash. Everything appeared clean there and they use a fresh file and pumice stone for every person. The room they do nails in is a semi-private room which is also great! read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Let's start by saying I had an appointment and sat there for 20 min. When finally approached they had me pick a color, they maybe had 20 colors to pick from, she couldn't find a simple white. I'm trying all the colors on my acrylic nails and also when I called they told me they didn't do acrylic so they had to take my nails off and they were going to do a different procedure which would've cost me $30 it was like a 10 minute conversation. When I mention my manicure she says you're not scheduled for a manicure and I don't have time to do a no chip pedicure either, which is what I asked for she basically had 15 minutes to do my toes and that was it I go what do you mean I scheduled this week on the phone for about 15 minutes talking about my nails she said there's no recollection and there's no appointments available. With that said the only reason I want this but I have a gift card, now I can't even use that because I had to leave. They were very unprofessional to not go in here I don't know where all these good reviews are coming in from must be maybe the hairstylist because they are very unorganized and I've been getting my nails done for 40 years I had to walk out with my acrylic nails with a bunch of different colors on them they didn't even offer to take that paid off. Beyond disappointed. I won't even spend $100 gift card if that says anything. I'm pretty sure it's good reviews master family members read more

I will definitely not return to this salon. I had an appointment and was going to be late by 10-15 minutes so I called to let them know. They said okay just come on and gave directions. When I got there they told me they can do a quick express manicure and that's all. My appointment was for a no chip manicure that basically takes the same amount of time. They said I'm sorry we can't give you the no chip because it would make their other customers appointments pushed back and told me I was late! I did leave and vowed not*** to return. It was a big inconvenience to me as I had to call around to several salons In order to get service. read more

I was a regular here for 16 years - NEVER again. Showed up for my December appointment that I booked at my prior appointment, in person, 16 weeks ago, and was rudely told by some high school girl that I wasn't on the schedule. Turns out spa bleu staff messed up and double booked my appointment, but they "could get me in some other time." I asked if I could speak to my stylist, Amanda E, that I'd been seeing for years, and she refused to come out to speak to me about the issue. Amanda also blew me off when I messaged her over a week before the appointment asking about the style for my upcoming cut, a standard thing we've been communicating during my 16 years as her client. However, Amanda couldn't even let me know I wasn't on her schedule. The lack of communication by the spa bleu staff is disappointing and unacceptable. The rude receptionist, the inability to correctly manage a schedule, along with Amanda not even coming out to apologize when she overheard and was very aware what was happening, lost Spa Bleu a customer. Not that they care, clearly. Literally any other place will treat you better. read more

I'm a guy with thinning hair and what I have is difficult; colic's and other fun follicle inspired challenges for anyone trying to cut it. For the past two years I have been using a clipper, one length all over, its boring. So I decided to try Spa Bleu. The service was great, from the time I entered to the time I left, the entire staff made me feel welcome. The facility (West Dundee) was clean and fresh; not that chemical smell you get at many hair salons. Christy was the lucky person to tackle my mess of hair. Never once has a person been able to tame the colic, cut the hair I have and have me accept it the first time out...for that matter never even the second, but Christy did. On top of an amazing hair cut I got a scalp massage that was really a massage and a hand massage (a first when getting my hair cut). The experience was great, Christy actually paid attention to my hair, while still making the conversation comfortable not creepy like you can get at other salons! I think after five years of living in the West Dundee area, I have finally found a place to get a hair cut that fits my lifestyle and schedule. read more

I didn't want to leave!! Edmund gave me an amazing massage with crystal bowl healing, chakra clearing and a wealth of knowledge about the body. I can't thank him enough. Raven rocked my pedicure!! I was looking to have a facial massage so I tried Spa Bleu. The atmosphere of the place is good very modern deco and chill. They gave me a robe and slippers, the music was relaxing and the length of the facial massage/ cleansing was ok, the only thing is I felt it was overpriced and the girl who did my massage wasn't welcoming or warm. I don't feel like coming back. It is a little snobby, to be honest. read more

Called to make my first appt. today, and asked for a touch-up, I was told that since I didn't use Aveda color that they could not match the rest of my hair and would have to retouch all highlights.. this is so hilarious!! So the receptionist insisted on booking me for highlights? Very much a turn off, of course, I called another salon that booked me without a problem to simply do the touch up on my Schwarzkopf colored hair.. Thanks for letting me vent yelpers, I was really looking forward to checking this place out. read more

Janelle was very accommodating, she made my facial super relaxing, professional and was extremely knowledgeable. I came in to relax and get a wonderful facial and she did exactly that. I am definitely going back and would highly recommend to anyone! read more

Went back for a two-chicks pedicure. Dawn, my tech was fantastic. Very congenial and not pushy. She must've thought we needed a night out -- gave both of us a hand treatment and me Aveda lip gloss. Really nice. we'll be back and although we had a coupon, they were super nice. (sometimes places aren't!) we'll be back again and again. Just over the top professional, which some start ups need to get better at. It'll happen, but for this place, we were very pleased! BTW, if you call, you can find out what is available last-minute and get a % off. Great idea! read more

This salon has impeccable customer service. The stylists are incredibly talented and the process of getting my hair cut is so relaxing. The front staff is friendly and always have smiles on their faces. Jameson is an amazing stylist. These stylists are up on all the latest trends and styles and are always in a good mood. Can't say enough great things about them. The only complaint I have is that some of the stylists (not all) do the hard-sell on the products (not their fault, they obviously get big commissions on it or have to meet quotas) and that gets annoying. If they wanted to do it in style, they would have little note cards that they write their recommendations on at the end, hand it to you and then the cashiers can ask if you would like to purchase any of the recommended items and be done with it. Otherwise, I highly recommend this salon. read more

The salon was great and Jordan did an amazing job with my hair! She did my first balayage look, and did a great job of lightening up my blonde for the summer. The customer service was awesome and courteous, and the salon has all the amenities from an add on scalp massage to a hand massage & refreshments of course. Maddie waxed my eyebrows and also did a superb job!! I love Aveda salons in general but this one is my favorite!! I highly recommend. read more

I asked for a chakra cleansing massage for a change. There should be a better description as for 60 minutes I received a massage for about 30 Minutes. The rest was talking. What a waste. Really feel that this should have been explained better in the beginning so that I could change my mind. The therapist was fine I'm sure she was doing as told. read more

Wow! I was beyond impressed with this salon. Tucked away off of Second Street in downtown Dundee, this place is a gem. From the very moment you set foot in the door you are pampered with offers of hot, scented towels, herbal tea or water in a nurturing zen-like atmosphere. I was having a shampoo, blowout and style with Riley who started me off with a lovely hand, neck and shoulder massage using Aveda's scented oils. Honestly, I nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed. This was followed by a shampoo in this incredibly comfortable chair which gently vibrated. Just when I thought it could not get better I received a beautiful hand massage! We then went on to Riley's station where she worked her magic on my less than awesome hair. I was so thrilled with the blowout and styling. She absolutely listened to what I wanted and delivered! It was a rainy, humid day and I was going to a wedding that night. My hair looked spectacular. My husband told me I looked "hot" and I got several compliments that night. My hair still looks great three days later! Thanks so much to Riley! And all at Spa Bleu for such a great experience. I will definitely be back! read more

I was able to book a last minute maternity massage with Ashley. It was amazing! She took her time at the spots where I felt the most tension. I walked in with a terrible tension headache, and she gave the most incredible scalp massage to ease it away. Thanks for a great experience! read more

Overpriced for underwhelming hair cuts. I felt extremely uncomfortable because the entire time I was there I kept getting sales pitches to buy Aveda products on my way out. I don't think I will be back for salon services but I might try some spa services in the future. The atmosphere is nice with dim lights and music playing. Don't be intimidated by the parking. At first glance I thought I had to do street parking but they have their own lot in front of their building. read more

I received a gift card for Spa Bleu, and while I love my regular masseuse, I thought I'd take a flyer and give Spa Bleu a try. I was able to get an appointment on short notice (points to them for the online appointments!) and scheduled myself for a hot stone massage with Danielle. Danielle took the time to assess what I was looking for, what my issues were, made some recommendations, then provided a GREAT massage, using hot stone and other techniques. Very comfortable, very relaxing and a great experience. read more

came here for a Brazilian wax the other day and it was the worst waxing of my life! technician was overbearing and did not do a good job. when getting a full Brazilian wax, you would assume that everything (hair) is going to go unless otherwise stated, right? wrong in this case. she kept reapplying wax to the same areas after incorrectly applying the first time so that more hair was left behind than would expected which she then tried to tweeze (ouch). The tweezing was inefficient as well, she tried multiple times to get the same hair before moving on the next which left my skin extremely irritated. when it was time to get the hairs inside (vagina, buttocks) she did a horrible job. she didn't pull the wax strip properly so it only broke off the hairs instead of pulling them out at the root. after she was done, i pointed out the areas i was unsatisfied with, she thanked me for bringing it to her attention and proceeded to wax again but still pulled up no hair and acted like she had. i was extremely disappointed with the service, especially after being charged $65. i paid the girl and even gave a tip but i promise, i will NEVER be back. read more

Went in for an eyebrow wax and explained how sensitive my skin is. The girl assured me that she understood. I asked her to cool the wax slightly before applying to my skin, and she agreed. BUT, when I got home a while later, I noticed that SHE BURNED ME! I had a mark in the middle of my head in the exact shape of the wax application tool. Not worth the $24 to walk around with a burn on my face for a week. :( read more

I am still a client here for my waxes and am completely satisfied. While I now see Megan, the results here remain consistant: professional, relaxing (and who finds a brazilian wax relaxing?), and pefect results. I love Spa Bleu and they always take very good care of me. read more

O dear god dont go here. I had highlights and i wanted to go back to my natural color which was very visible because my roots were grown in like 5 inches. my natural color is a light cool golden brown. well, I had a gift card for 150.00 so I thought I would get it professionally dyed. What a waste!! It took 3 hours to do an overall color, thats all i had done. 3 hours?!?! and what did my hair look like after it was done-JET BLACK. i asked for light golden brown and got jet black hair. this girl didnt know anything obviously...please dont waste your money. I even went back and told her it was way too dark and she told me that was my natural color-o okay, you, a stranger, know my natural hair color better than me? sure... So i fixed my ugly raven hair myself. Go to Salon Lorenne in Palatine-they know what there doing. This place is a rip off and none of the people know what there doing. read more

This was my first time at Spa Bleu and I have no idea what took me so long. Bridget not only listened but as the expert, offered other options. They are "stylists" for a reason. I walked happier than ever with my cut and color. Booked another appointment before leaving. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! read more
