I don't remember the name of the lady who did my nails. I know her husband also worked there and they have been married for 30+ years. I was visiting from another country and stopped in to get my nails done. The lady was very nice and accommodating with my fill. The end result was nice. However, today makes 6 days and I've already had three nails BREAK OFF AT THE TIP. The first one happened on Tuesday, a mere three days after getting them done. The second one broke on Thursday as I was closing my car door. The third broke today as I was wiping after using the bathroom (tmi, but no excessive force was used). I've been back home since Monday so obviously I can't go back to get them fixed, but this is CRAZY. I've never had this happen before. Came for a birthday pedicure (and writing this as I sit) and was sadly disappointed. Sat down at a pedicure chair that only had flap (so your head just bounces back and forth) and let the man know and he stated that he just does "nails" and doesn't sit in the chair. He didn't move me chairs as there were at least 6 other ones open. He also didn't care to try and fix it. Then the pedicure lasted 15 minutes (maybe 20- but that's being generous). He didn't even touch my cuticles. People who were seated before me are still seated and enjoying a nice pedicure.... just crappy that one person can ruin an entire experience UPDATE- from 2 to 4 stars because the manager comped the service. I don't know...lack of time had me coming here. I have been here before and it's been good, not great. Aesthetically, the place is great! I am getting a no chip pedicure for $52 and I have to say...hardly anything was done to my feet? Cut down, a little more on a couple of toes. Literally about a 30 second if that scrubbing of my callouses and a little lotion, that's it. The nail tech is nice and doing s good job with the no chip, but for the money...I would have liked to see more callous removal or something? Seems like it's super fast? Thought I would give this nail salon a try. I was immediately turned off by the way you are greeted, or lack of, when you arrive,, extremely impersonal. When I assigned my nail tech, I asked him about the dry powder method and what ingredients it contained. He promptly informed me he is not an engineer or scientist and had no idea what the powder contained and I should Google it myself to find out. If you are going to put a product on my nails, the nail tech, who is supposedly a professional, should know what it contains!!! Whenever I would ask him a question, I got a question back... Came here for a gel manicure and deluxe pedicure. I have heard so many great things about this nail salon, but was greatly disappointed by the service I received. My nail tech was Terry, who I was later told is not "one of the good ones" . Given that, I would be willing to return to try another nail tech. The salon was very clean and was able to accommodate us without an appointment on a busy Friday afternoon. My pedicure was nothing more than average, so not worth the extra cost. My manicure is where it went really bad. Terry applied way too many coats causing it to be way too thick it was not at all attractive. It also caused the color to be too dark so it didn't match my pedicure. Overall, not happy with my service, but I'd consider returning and requesting a different tech. read more

Love the atmosphere, super clean and doesn't smell of chemicals at all like some salons. Just wanted a quick basic manicure and it looked great. I have trouble keeping polish from peeling after a week but this lasted longer. They are very nice and the lady brought me a bottle of water before we started which was a nice touch. I have coworkers who go here and their no chip manicures last forever. One in particular has a good 1/4-1/2 inch of new growth on her nails but the no chip looks like she just had it done. TERRIBLE!!! The workers were SO SO rude! My sister and I went to get manicures, as I was excited to try this new nail salon in a Crystal Lake. Our experience was so awful, I will never return. 1. My manicurist was angry when I realized she didn't cut my nails just as she was beginning to polish. She snapped at me, and said to tell her right away next time 2. My sister and I were both scolded on many occasions to "stop moving", and to "be more careful" 3. I called and made an appointment for three pedicures and two manicures for my nieces and myself. We arrived at 1:55 for our 2:00 appointment. Others who also had appointments were told there would be an hour wait. The reason was that walk ins had come in before us. What is the point of making an appointment then? I wanted to try out the new place out, it was really clean and beautiful, I wanted a sparkle ombre on my big toe, during the pedicure she cut too close to one of my toes and cut a corner on my big foot, when the girl was done with it looked like a line there was nothing I liked about it, I told her I wasn't happy and she got really upset, I told her it didn't look anything like the picture I had showed her, so she told me she was going to charge me extra to fix it, she sent someone else to do it, and they where nice, but the design looks like a really bad DIY project. I am very upset, not happy with my pedicure and I'm out almost 50 bucks. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Sorry for writing my review almost two months after my appointment but I'm glad I did as I cannot believe how long my dip powder manicure lasted. I was in Crystal Lake for a wedding this past August. My friend and I booked last minute appointments to get our nails done. I had my nails done by Ben aka Calvin. He convinced me to try a dip powder manicure as I had three nails that I had cracked pretty deep. Best decision ever!! Not only did he protect my nails making them grow out like crazy, but my manicure has NOT even lifted as it's growing out. I'm heading to London in a week and desperately need my nails done. I live in downtown Chicago so the option of going back out to Crystal Lake is out of the picture. WHYYYYYY can't Ben aka Calvin be at a nail salon in the city I don't know where to go, that I'll have the same experience. If you live out by Crystal Lake, you must go and ask for Ben. Wow! So far, I am incredibly impressed with this place. The ambiance is wonderful, the business itself it beautifully decorated, with nice, relaxing music and the employees are helpful, friendly, attentive and kind. The prices are slightly higher than some places for the more high end services, but they are SO worth it. They really take care of you here. I had one of the most relaxing pedicures I've ever had and the nail technician actually checked in with me numerous times throughout to make sure everything was feeling okay. I had an appointment at 2 pm, when I came in a technician greeted me but he didn't speak much english. It took over an hour for my pedicure. The no chip was chipped with in 2 days. I have been here a few times for pedicures and i think it's great. Great atmosphere, very upcale, but with competitive prices. Makes me feel very elegant when i am there...it's not too bright in the pedicure area so it's very relaxing. The reason for 4 stars not 5 (and I really give it a 4.5) is because I went with 2 friends (we had an appointment for 3 of us) but they couldn't start us all at the same time. We were all able to sit together, but not started together if that makes sense. My friend just sat there waiting for someone. So i was almost done by the time my friend got started. Update 4/2/16 Now my thumb gel is peeling off already. I can't go in to have this fixed as I'm leaving for my 5 year anniversary trip in a few hours. I would give zero stars if I could. Being a first time customer I had high expectations from reading the reviews. I sat down for a no chip mani and her card looks to read Sophia. I've had many no chip manicures and know what to expect. I have a gelish nail system of my own and usually do my nails myself but thought I would give this place a try. The color selection was awesome. She only filed a couple of my nails with a few swipes of the file, they are not even, and did no trimming around the nail bed which I needed, so now I will be doing that myself. When trimming my cuticles on my left hand my thumb and pinky were cut way too short and were bleeding. The application process was as expected but what was left around my nails and on my skin is a mess with gel paint left on my skin, and she cleaned up around them with a brush and still a mess. Throughout the hour I was there she was coughing on me the entire time and didn't cover her mouth. It seemed as she did not want to be working today as she didn't put much effort in to my manicure. I did tell her that it was my first time there and the place looks beautiful inside, which it does. The hand massage was a quick put some lotion on and done. I was happy with the color I chose and that they gave me a bottle of water when I sat down. I don't know if I would return, if I did I will request someone else.
