I came into town for a quick overnight trip and decided I wanted to get my nails done last minute. I found Cindy on yelp and loved her stuff and called and she had an opening which was amazing. I'm normally not a talker but she was so easy and sweet to chat with. Her husband runs the shop with her and they were such a lovely couple as well as their daughter in the back. I had not taken great care of my nails and Cindy was so good with them. I showed her a picture and she nailed it. Their little setup was so cute and relaxing she offered a drink as soon as I got there. I could rave about her but to sum it up I will definitely be going back next time I'm in town. Thank you Cindy

Her nails look so good and I wanted the same result. I went this evening (Saturday, they are open until 8pm) I arrived at 6pm and got out a little before 7:30pm. I got a regular pedicure w/regular polish. I actually decided to change my original pick for one that the woman who greeted me was wearing on her toes. It was a pale orange color by the brand Essie. I forgot to get the name of the woman who did my pedicure but she was great. Shout out to Emily for doing my full set of short acrylic nails. She did so good! We were on time for our appointment but weren't seated for 20 minutes and then sat waiting in the chair for an additional 5-10. What I expected to take 1 hour lasted for 2. Thank the gods I didn't need to go back to work! It's confusing even you check in as well. There is no wall of nail polishes to choose from, just gel. They brought out a book for regular polish. I didn't recognize the brand and wouldn't use it again. The color didn't match the swatches and was gloopy. Our technicians were very friendly, but mine clipped my nails too short and I'm afraid of how it will grow out. It was a bit expensive too. I'll go back to my usual place where my appointment starts in time and I'm in & out in an hour tops.

She goes and she gets just a regular manicure and pedicure and pays $40, which is ok I guess. I sent her a picture of what I wanted to send to Kim, who is the K in K & M. I always go to Virginia Nails here and get my solar nail gels on. I was looking for a rainbow glitter nail. My friend sit my pic to her and she said she could do it. I sent the picture because this place is in the Salons on Alma and it's super small, just two pedicure chairs and a couple of tables. Nothing wrong with being small, but the suite was very dirty and cluttered and not at all inviting. Only one nail brush. I got there and she doesn't even know what solar nails are. Ugh. She also doesn't get what rainbow means: she immediately shows me purple glitter. That's cool, but it's not very multicolored. She said it would be once we put it on. Wrong. First off, she put some weird color changing polish on underneath the purple powder. (Why did she make me soak off the previous light gel? I usually just get it sanded off and then a new color put on.) it went on dark purple and now it's light blue. There are gaps all over the powder that the blue comes through and just makes it look unfinished. Also she didn't have the UV gel topcoat (she was out) so she buffed them. The feel of the nails don't feel like a professional job; it feels bumpy and uneven. I wasn't going to complain though, since my friend loves her, but today I find that my nails are chipping. I've NEVER had that happen with solar nail gel. So I have no clue what the heck she used. I'm mad. The pedicure was fine. I could go anywhere and get what she did done for cheaper. Another annoyance was that she told my friend she'd for us both in at the same time. Instead of getting my friend going with a soak in the pedicure tub or something, she did my entire pedicure and then my manicure AND then started my friend's. So she had to wait an hour and a half (she was SUPER slow) before even being touched. Then I had to wait the same amount. It was $60 for me. It took THREE HOURS. I'll never go back. Kim was nice enough and I love supporting small businesses, but this was a joke. Back to my regular nail place I go.

I had the most absurd and bad experience here today. I've been here before and had 3 of 4 times…read morebeen pleased. I had apparently the owners wife these times. The owner himself was a bad experience, repairing a day old chip with the wrong color, insisting it was the same color. He actually told me this. He told me the color had changed over the night. I was speechless, what could I say? So I go in today. Not too busy. But apparently I was sitting next to a favorite client who is getting very pampered and special treatment. Fine OK I get it. She may have been a very loyal customer. I waited over an hour and a half for Sara to do my toes. She had done my toes before. Unfortunately, she went to heat up the water and poured scalding water onto one of my feet. SCALDING. HOT. She apologized profusely after I literally screamed and everybody in the place looked at me and her completely shocked. I didn't see her coming. She kept saying oh, he must've just been surprised. Three times I had to follow this with, no, the water was hot!? I may be blonde, but I'm not stupid. She pointed to a machine and said that she was so sorry she didn't realize the water that came out of this giant metal machine was so hot because she had gloves on and she couldn't feel much in her hands anymore. I'm sorry, but I sure felt it!?. This was followed by Five of her request for me to confirm that I was OK. What was I going to say?? If you've ever been burned by hot water before you know that it hurts for a minute or two and then goes away. It still doesn't take away the fact that you were scalded!? I felt like she did a somewhat rushed job on my "DELUXE" pedicure as the place was now getting busy. Granted, I waited over an hour and a half for my turn. I don't know about you but when I get told how beautiful my nails are how nice my feet feel 100 times during my pedicure or manicure from the person who was doing the work, it gets annoying. I feel like I am getting played. Word to nail establishments ....we have our own brains. LOL BACK TO THIS RELAXING $60 TREATMENT. SHE THEN PROCEEDED TO CUT MY TOE WITH HER TOOLS. IT DID NOT DRAW BLOOD, BUT I ALMOST JUMPED OUT OF MY CHAIR AT LEAST THREE TIMES. SHE KEPT SAYING IT WAS NECESSARY--THAT SHE HAD TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF MY NAIL BED. THERE WAS NOTHING THERE. Sorry for the use of all caps not intentional and I don't feel like retyping, but I did want to get a word out. So when I was checking out, I was astonished. They offered me no discount. You would think they would've said no charge. Oh well, there are plenty of other places to go. I did also want to say that a black gentleman walked in. He was never acknowledged. He walked to the back and sat there for somebody to do his nails. After approximately 40 minutes, he stood up and left the establishment. There were two women who worked here who said something in another language, and then giggled after he walked out. UnbeLIEVable I don't blame him for leaving!!!...he's probably lucky. He won't have his feet or hands burned off I'm just really surprised that a business like this is still around.
