size of Banh Mi - Vietnamese Sub
Maisune E.

this banh mi was everything and more, such crunchy soft bread, delicious house made mayo, well seasoned beef, and fresh vegetables. sooo comforting on the rainy evening that i got it, i ate it standing up in my kitchen because i couldn't make it to the table. the service was kind and swift. the inside looks very serene, i want to return to dine in and try their other dishes. this was a great takeout experience.

Stopped into Lotus Pepper for lunch the other day and loved it! I had the Bahn Mi and my partner had the vermicelli bowl. Both were packed with flavor. The bread was absolutely perfect on the Bahn Mi- pleasantry crispy on the outside but nice and soft on the inside. We both also got their house made lime soda, which was fantastic. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. Tastefully decorated and a very inviting atmosphere. The service was great too- ordering was a breeze and our food came out in a flash. We will definitely be back to try some of their other food.

I ordered on Uber Eats and was so happy with everything. A Saturday night order came as placed and on time. Every item was cooked perfectly and still Warm upon delivery. (See photos) I would definitely order here again.

Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli bowl

Some quality food on the convenience of Hope St. The Lemongrass Chicken vermicelli bowl was quite refreshing with the fresh herbs and fragrant chicken, while the tofu banh mi had a nice piece of tofu inside a crispy banh mi baguette. My only point of critique is I wish there was more food for their price point. I am used to paying $6-8 for a banh mi in CA and having more vermicelli noodles in a $15 bowl. Overall it's good, but I will only go back after I receive a paycheck for a treat!

RI was in need of an authentic Vietnamese restaurant and Lotus Pepper delivered! Their location is right on Hope Street in Providence with a red and white theme. The exterior of the building is white bricks and very easy to spot. The inside is clean with quick grab and go items that you can either take out or sit down and eat. They have a variety of Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches), noodle bowls and rice dishes, apps, and drinks. Service was quick. I highly recommend the Vietnamese iced coffee. It is Vietnamese coffee with sweet condensed milk. You can also substitute the condensed milk for oat milk if you prefer.

I had a lot of expectations maybe that's why I didn't like it as I wanted to. The table was super sticky. My blouse was stick to the table and I had to pull it off from it with some force. My advice is don't put your elbows on the table. The food was okay, I think the rice was better than noodles. It is very bright and pretty inside, given a organic cafe style. But the paper bowls and plastic folks and spoons totally ruined the vibe. Very friendly people there. It will be a good spot to take out.

Lotus Pepper is an excellent spot for a lunchtime bite or an easy and healthy dinner! Location wise, LP is conveniently located on Hope St, which makes it an easy spot to walk to. If you struggle to find parking on Hope street, there are often spots along the sides streets that are available. Inside, customers order at the counter and can choose to take their food to-go, or sit at a table and eat in the business. Inside, the dining area is sparse and clean, and there are always plenty of napkins, forks, chop sticks, chili sauces, and water available at the counter for self-service. As far as food, I can vouch for the bowls, bahn mi, and appetizers! All are delicious. What I like about the vermicelli bowl in particular is the breadth of textures and flavors in one meal: the glass noodles are thin and chewy, while the thinly sliced carrots, cucumbers, and bean sprouts add the perfect crunch factor. Couple this with thin sliced sautéed meat, and handfuls of fresh herbs, and you simply cannot go wrong. A whole bowl is filling enough for a dinner, while remaining light enough to eat for lunch. In addition, the dumplings, spring rolls, and fresh rolls are wonderful to share as an appetizer, or enjoy as a personal snack! Prices are very fair, and the service has always been prompt and professional.

This place can be summed up in one word--fresh! The food is so tasty, bright, and healthy that we wish we lived closer so we could eat here every day. Our go to favorites are the vermicelli bowls but after seeing other reviews we will be trying the bahn mi sandwiches next time. Love the new space and the excellent customer service!

Vietnamese iced coffee

I don't know much about Vietnamese food but everything was good. I had my first Vietnamese iced coffee which was the highlight . Strong coffee taste and not overly sweet. Yum! Ordered a bunch of stuff to go. Shrimp summer rolls and a salad bowl with lemongrass chicken for me. Fried pork dumplings and a spicy pork banh mi sandwich for hubby. The summer rolls and salad bowl were all delicious and fresh. Hubby liked the flavor of his sandwich. Dumplings were not anything special. Wouldn't go out of my way to come back but would stop by if I was in the area.

As per usual we order (intentionally) too much food so that we can have another meal at home the next day. An advantage here is that one can bring one's own bottle, which keeps the costs down. We ordered a hearty and tasty coconut soup with various vegetables and chicken. Scallion pancakes, Singapore noodles with meat and garlic string beans- all delicious . Reasonably priced ($65) with another meal to take home. Lunch without having to cook! A welcome idea.

The dining room can accommodate larger parties. It's nicely decorated and comfortable, but tends to be a bit chilly in winter so ask for a refill of the complementary tea. We like most of the menu, but our particular favorites are the hot & sour soup (so nice and spicy!), coconut chicken appetizer, satay noodles (again, can be spicy), and the Cambodian noodles dry (served in a delicious sauce, don't worry). Other items frequently in rotation for us are the fried lort, general tsao's tofu, numya curry, and tom yum soup (tofu, chicken, beef or just veggies can be added). Service is friendly and quick - either eating here or getting take out.

Come on ... how much does it cost you to actually throw in a tiny cup of hot mustard? I mean, who doesn't eat hot mustard with Chinese food? It used to be that Chinese food was a fast and cheap dinner ... a combo meal here is $18, after substitution. I want to know ... who the fuck has ever actually eaten a shitty chicken wing from a Chinese restaurant without substituting it out? Probably nobody. You eat fresh BBQ chicken wings at a tailgate, not from a dirty restaurant the size of a college dorm room. Of course they know any sane person with working taste buds will substitute nasty skimpy wings for something else ... so they include them in every combo meal knowing people will pony up the extra $1.50 - $2.50. A combo with 3 crab rangoon, 3 chicken fingers (substituted for wings) and an egg roll now costs almost $20. The quality here is on par with a mall food court ... which is to say, not great. Dry AF fried rice with fatty cubes of pork which have the consistency and taste of a pencil eraser. The rice was almost chewy it was so dry amd barely tasted like pencil shavings it was so bland. The crab rangoon was decent ... filled with fake cream cheese and almost no crab. If you are drunk, it's fine and filling. Nothing you couldn't throw in an air fryer from a frozen box. The chicken fingers were okay. Likeky frozen a year ago and thrown into a deep fat frier hours before you ordered and kept under a heat lamp. If you are drunk or high, you'll leave a 4/5 star review. If you are unfortunately sober when you eat this, it will remind you of the dsys you'd scrape your lawn mowing money together and splurge on Chinese food from the mall food court when you were in middle school. Overall, this is buffet food served as fresh made. The fact that everything had almost zero taste ... they better start putting hot mustard and soy sauce in orders unless that want continued 2/3 stars. Bottom line ... I was hoping for good old fashioned American style strip mall Chinese food. What I got ... sucked.

I switch between milk tea or slushie. I must say, their bread isn't as crusty as most banh mi places but I think that's what makes them stand out. It's a little softer but if u need that extra crunch, ask for it to be toasted AFTER it's made as well. They also have other goods like Shrimp rolls, egg rolls and crb rangoons! We've been here many times and it was good, but were pleasantly surprised to find out that it is better!! In my experience, restaurants are generally broken down into 3 categories as time passes: maintain quality, lower quality and improve their quality. Most are in the maintain quality camp, but I will give them a round of applause for getting better. The food: the Bahn Mi bread had a crispy exterior while having a soft center. The veggies were super fresh and flavorful. Everything came together perfectly! The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was bold, sweet and very craveworthy. The staff were very nice and theres definitely room to eat inside, but I wanted to take these back home so I can make an absolute beautiful mess of the crispy, flakey Bahn Mi Bread.
