Amazing food, prices great for the quality & portion size. Super friendly staff and perfect little comfy country cafe

Lamb sliders are so yummy!

We love coming to this restaurant every time we visit Garner State Park. They have the best lamb sliders! Chicken sandwich is also very good. And their pies are delicious! Service is a bit slow, but worth the wait.

I was in town for a volleyball game and decided to wait to eat in Utopia instead of back home. My yelp search led me here. Food was ok, because I was hungry. Didn't live up to my expectations, based off of other pictures I saw online. Portions were very small for a $22 tab. Waitress did the minimum, not very friendly or welcoming. I had the pepper steak and baked potato. Salad was no good though, I did my best to eat it..I don't like wasting food.

This place is really charming, but it sucks that the service and the food isn't better. We came here for breakfast, but apparently they do "limited menus" so we could only pick between eggs, toast, biscuits, hash browns, home potatoes, bacon, or ham. I originally came out here because I saw pancakes in previous reviews and was in the mood for pancakes. The food was mediocre and it's disappointing that a small town country place serves you artificial butter spread & premade frozen hash browns. The customer service and speed of receiving your order needs work. They also got our order wrong which no big deal, we still ate it. I really hope they improve because this place has potential to be so much more.

Every time I'm Utopia I need to stop at this Southern style and cozy. Their pies are delicious and in this case Grilled Chicken sandwich. If you go for lunch is packed. They are always courteous and friendly. Great service!!

This place is great ! Food is really good southern style . Love the small town vibe and the history with it being in 7days in utopia . Services was very friendly

Side salad was no bueno

Can't have too high of expectations for a cafe in the middle of nowhere, but this place was pretty good. I got the burger and sweet potato fries and thought it was great. I had some friends get a side salad and it was awful - room temperature and weird textured lettuce with no toppings. Other than that, everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. Friendly service, cool atmosphere.

Breakfast taco with fresh salsa

So, here's the deal. In a large city, Lost Maples Cafe would probably get a three star rating from me. But in a small town like Utopia, where options are very limited, it definitely shines brighter than the rest, so four stars seems more fair. The menu options are a bit limited but everything we ordered was freshly made and tasty, including the vegetable omelette, homemade biscuit, and the breakfast taco, served with a side of fresh salsa. Pies are very fresh, and the coconut meringue top and filling were among the most moist and freshest I've had in many years. It's worth coming here for the pie alone. The staff is friendly and create a family style atmosphere. Everyone in the place was relaxed and casual, embodying that small town feel that so many people seek to experience and recreate. Utopia definitely got it! Good stuff. I recommend.

A friend recommended this place as a lunch stop on our road trip, and we were glad we stopped. It felt like exactly what a small town Texas lunch spot should be--good Texas food at a very good price, friendly service, a loud tabof seniors detailing their every medical issue, and some decor that would be considered cringe-worthy at home in Austin. We both ordered the lunch special, a solid plate with a lunch-sized CFS, mashed potatoes, corn, and a little square of spice cake for dessert. Just what we needed to fuel up for the long drive home.

Although it is a drive from our area, it is worth the drive. Excellent food and service.

Everything on the menu tastes great! All the pies are delicious and I especially love their chips and salsa as an appetizer.

I think they are planning their next visit with us around the days & hours The Hen's Nest is open lol. The food is just absolutely delicious and the restaurant employees are super friendly and so sweet. The bathroom is cute and extremely clean, which is very important to me. For as many times as my husband and I have been there we have not even once had a complaint! Everything has always been spot on. I asked for a soft scramble and that's what I got. The bacon was crispy and the biscuits were soft. Our server was extremely friendly and readily answered our questions and as her time permitted, chatted with us briefly. When we walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't), but were sat immediately. The establishment is no frills with a very down home vibe that serves delicious food. I feel if you go often enough, they get to know you and will greet you by name and remember your order. Is it perfect? Based on others reviews (some just seemed like whining), probably not. Was my experience perfect? Very much so, from service, to food, to ambiance, I loved it. Would I return? Absolutely. *no pics because I was starving and forgot to snap some shots* This is small town Texas, you know, that thing that is disappearing very fast because everybody is moving here? Expect it to be a bit slow, don't look for instant gratification. Slow down, enjoy your food, and look around a bit.

They updated their porch to have more coverage which will be great once summer really hits. Inside is great too. We've sat in all the areas. We went all out for our brunch date (mom & dad time out). Cold brew with vanilla, caramel iced latte... yummmm! We started with zucchini fries and they were hot, crunchy and delicious. I had the brunch burger (it was huge!) with sweet potato fries. I love their sweet potato fries. Husband tried the special- biscuit love - says it's good for anyone who loves gravy and brunch dessert was the banana French toast - we got the banana on the side and a side of berries. Yum yum yum. Soft and pillowy. Thank you Sam! See you soon :)

She really made the experience. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, substituting bacon for ham, with a biscuit and gravy on the side. The Eggs Benedict was good. I loved the unexpected touch of Swiss cheese, which added a nice twist to a classic dish. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but the bacon was cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Fredericksburg. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and even better service!

We were greeted by the same friendly employee when I visited the prior week, and she gave us each a stamp punch card - after so many you get a freebie coffee. FYI they also serve smoothies, not posted yet, and they can make them dairy free! My friend and I shared a Rueben sandwich and chicken salad croissant. Great flavors, but for me the Rueben shined! Lots of flavor. $1 more. My decaf latte with oat milk ($2 extra) and sugar free Belgian cookie syrup was nice. The price for the oat milk was steep, I don't think I've ever paid that much extra. I may skip it next time and go for the caffeine free teas. I ordered a hippie bar and honey glazed pecans to go. I really enjoyed the hippie bar- peanut butter, gluten free oats, chia, seeds, and dried cranberries. Lots of seating inside. There's a conference room- free of charge for ministry meetings and a mic area up front. The owner stopped by our table and greeted us, I just love supporting this local fam owned business. Oh and when we visited the women's restroom... I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful sky ceiling and bird sounds. So soothing and relaxing...
