The place was very busy and lovely but we waited only 25mins. Parking was easy to find. Once we sat down had great wait staff who was attentive and generous. Our food came out hot and fresh. Maui mimosa was also great! The bathrooms were decently clean for its busyness
While in town for our anniversary, the wife and I decided to grab breakfast. Looking for a quaint, non chain restaurant, I I resorted to ChatGPT. ChatGPT raved about Sunset Grill, so we hopped in the car and zoomed down. Upon arriving, we walked into the cramped restaurant, and we were greeted by a nice hostess. She put our name on a list, and we had a brief 5-10 minute wait before we were seated. We were handed menus and left to peruse the menu. After a brief wait, we were greeted by our waiter and he took our drinks. In good time the waiter was back with drinks and he took our order. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette. It came with potatoes and toast. The wife ordered the plate with eggs over easy, crispy bacon, and potatoes. The wife and I sat and had a nice visit. We should not have drank our drinks so fast, as they stayed empty the entire time we visited. Our waiter not once made eye contact so we could get a refill either. After an average wait time, our food came. Our waiter noticed the drinks and then refilled them. My omelette was undercooked and watery, the cheese was not melted, and the bacon was chewy. Furthermore, the toast was also very dry. I would have gotten butter to put on them, but the waiter never came back to check on us. The wife's eggs were cooked over hard, the bacon was rubbery, and very underwhelming. Our drinks went empty and we never got refills, again. We paid the bill and went shopping. I was glad to get out of there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but I think they missed the mark here. ChatGPT did me dirty on this one. I don't know if they just were having a bad day, or what the deal was, but this was a one and done for me. I cannot say I recommend this one. I was very disappointed.
A little hard to find this place on foot, but worth the effort. A mix of locals and tourists frequent this place, and there is plenty of both indoor and shaded outdoor seating available. The Neptune was hands down one of the best omelets I've ever had, and the Southern Slammer was exactly what I expected (and more--those green onions really enhanced the grits). Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for breakfast.
This is a nice spot if you're looking for a traditional breakfast. Overall, the food was decent, though I think it has room for improvement. I wish the chocolate chip pancake had more chocolate, the breakfast potatoes had a bit more seasoning, and the bread was fresher since it tasted a little stale. That said, I think this restaurant has a lot of potential and it's in a great location. The highlight of our visit was the service--Kevin was absolutely amazing and one of the most attentive servers we've had in a long time. His friendly and attentive service made the experience much more enjoyable. We'd definitely come back to try some different items on the menu and see what else they have to offer.
This French toast was one of the best I've ver had! Perfectly soft but not soggy. Biscuit in the biscuits and gravy was made to perfection! Everything was a 10/10. The staff was so friendly and quick to attend to us even on a busy Sunday morning
So. We parked on Main Street, thinking this place was closer. Nope, but well worth the walk. The walk back was nice as our bellies were full. Bennys were delicious! Potatoes were alright, but they were the side so no big deal. Burger was a high 7/8 - my husband was a little overwhelmed by all the flavors going on. The Mexican coffee was yummy. We will be back!
My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday morning around 8:30 and were seated right away! Our server Cassie greeted us almost immediately and was friendly and attentive from start to finish. She really made the experience. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, substituting bacon for ham, with a biscuit and gravy on the side. The Eggs Benedict was good. I loved the unexpected touch of Swiss cheese, which added a nice twist to a classic dish. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but the bacon was cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Fredericksburg. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and even better service!
This is our favorite brunch in Fred. Sam has taken care of us many times and she's wonderful! The whole staff here is top notch. They updated their porch to have more coverage which will be great once summer really hits. Inside is great too. We've sat in all the areas. We went all out for our brunch date (mom & dad time out). Cold brew with vanilla, caramel iced latte... yummmm! We started with zucchini fries and they were hot, crunchy and delicious. I had the brunch burger (it was huge!) with sweet potato fries. I love their sweet potato fries. Husband tried the special- biscuit love - says it's good for anyone who loves gravy and brunch dessert was the banana French toast - we got the banana on the side and a side of berries. Yum yum yum. This place is bustling! Even on a Monday morning (granted, it was spring break for many), but plan accordingly as there could be a wait. There's not a lot of parking either; it's like random fields/areas. The overall size of the restaurant isn't all that big either, so be aware of how noisy it could be. Anyway, we ordered a couple pancake plates that were larger in size. Kids said they were fine. Another ordered the eggs and bacon, which consisted of two eggs, a little bacon, toast, and some potatoes. Nothing ground breaking, but seemed sufficient. I ordered the TBLTA, which was a turkey sandwich, bacon, and avocado. The portion seemed reasonable for the price. Overall, the food was good for what it was and the place was turning tables like nobody's business.
Loved it! It's been a number of years since our last visit. At that time, they were in a different location. This location is SO much better. Lots of seating - indoors and outdoors. Dog friendly outdoors too. The service - wow. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Our server, Maria A was amazing. We arrived about 9:30 AM on a Monday morning. Being a holiday, Presidents' Day, it was quite busy. I thought we'd have to wait quite a while but surprisingly there were some open tables inside. Being a nice sunny morning a lot of the outdoor seating was pretty full. Our party of four was seated quickly. Water came, followed quickly by coffee. Someone was always making the rounds with the coffee pot. That was nice. My wife and I shared a breakfast as follows: - California omelette with sourdough toast - Single pancake with blueberries I'd say the omelette was decent. Four out of five. It had good flavor. The way they make them here is slightly dry, but still decent. Next time I'll ask for mine to be less dry on the outside. The pancake was really good. Nice and fluffy and flavorful. We're so happy we returned to Sunset Grill for breakfast this year and we look forward to eating there on our next visit to Fredericksburg.

Worth the wait, the line is long but the food is so good! They have a cute patio, and the airing area is accommodating where you can sip a cocktail while you wait for your table! The grilled biscuit and bacon are my go to, but get the banana French toast for the table...it's so good but a little sweet to eat on your own. You won't leave hungry, portions are substantial, and the word watching is always fun...full of girls trips, bridesmaids, people recovering from a fun evening out, and plenty of families of all ages!
This became our go to brunch spot when we are in Fredricksburg. We were seated immediately because they have a ton of tables, which is a huge plus in this town. We sat on the dog-friendly patio and the service was incredibly quick. The food was 10/10--everything tasted so fresh. I highly recommend the Señorita Omelette (it's loaded with veggies and super flavorful) and the Avocado Toast, which was absolute fire. Don't skip the fresh-squeezed juices! Plus, plenty of parking out front made the whole experience stress-free.

Sunset Grill is one of the best breakfasts I have had ANYWHERE and I will come here every time I'm in Fredericksburg! I had see it recommended by so many people and I'm happy to report that it lived up to the hype (and still impressed me)! NOTES: - Reservations: no... walk in only - Parking: a few spots on the side of the building but free street parking nearby as well - Closed on Wednesday THE HIGHS: - Our server, Kevin, was PHENOMENAL... he was friendly but fast and efficient! - Coffee was strong and refilled constantly - Food came out quickly and everything was fresh - Not a single bad bite... everything was delicious! THE LOWS: - I wish I had more stomach space to try other items! THE PRICE: An absolute STEAL for how good the food is! - Country Biscuit and Sausage Gravy ($13.50 + $1 for cheese added to scrambled eggs) - Josephine ($13) - Short Stack Pancake ($6) - Biscuit ($2.50) - Side of Grits ($4) The total was $44.50 after tax ($3.30) and a credit card processing fee ($1.20) but before tip. (We also got coffee but weren't charged for it) BEST BITES: - Josephine (biscuit was thick and soft, egg was fried perfectly, brie cheese was creamy and delicious, honey ham added the perfect savory element, and the fig preserves added a nice touch of sweetness) - Pancakes (thick and fluffy... everything you'd want them to be) - Grits (simple but delicious... I've had a lot of grits and these were the perfect texture) THE VERDICT: This was my first visit to Sunset Grill after seeing it recommended by so many people... it was a must-try while in Fredericksburg and it was one of my favorite meals of the trip! Another great find in Fredericksburg! We came for breakfast and decided to dine outside. It was a pleasant morning and there were ample fans to help circulate the air. We went with The French Lady Omelette (spinach, mushrooms, bacon, Brie, tomatoes and onions) and the pancake. I asked for a side of peanut butter for my pancake which our server willingly accommodated. The food was good and the service was great. Definitely worth a visit! read more
I wish there was an option for double stars cause this place is killing it! Everytime I have been here, it's been an enjoyable experience. My last visit I had Paulette. She was personable and knowledgeable on suggestions and made me feel right at home as she did the other times I've had her. I ended up with a California Omlette and a Nitro espresso drink. I highly recommend both delicious options. On this visit, the lady sitting next to me let me know she travels from Kerrville a lot for this spot. On other occasions, I've had Missy. She also has helped me by showing me some of her favorite drinks and plates. I am blown away at how they keep up the great service even when it is packed, and this place definitely gets full, especially on weekends. I prefer coming on a random weekday to get a break from the lines. But I will definitely wait in line for this place if I get a craving during the busy times. This place feels so laid back and looks like a cute house. On nicer days, the patio is so peaceful and they have fans all around. This is a must try spot for those unsure where to go for some amazing brunch and goodtimes. read more

Cute cafe with more of a diner feel inside, but they have a big outdoor patio with plenty of seating. The menu has plenty of options, making it so hard to choose from because everything sounds so good. I got the yogurt and granola bowl, wow it was really fresh and a pretty big portion. My mom ordered the TBLTA and she really liked it, plus the vinaigrette on her salad was so good! Highly recommend giving this place a try. read more
Come with time to spare because this place is always packed - and that should tell you everything! We initially asked about the wait time and were told 45 minutes. We were starving and considered going somewhere else, but decided to give it a try. We ended up waiting a bit longer than expected, but it was absolutely worth it! The food was delicious - we ordered burgers and they were amazing. Despite how busy and chaotic it was with the crowd, our server was super attentive and friendly throughout our meal. My wife & I spent 3 days in Fredericksburg for our anniversary & hit up Sunset Grill for brunch one day. I'm a big fan of eggs benedict, so I tried Sunset's "sunsetter benedict" & was not disappointed. The surprise of the dish was the house-made country potatoes that came as a side. They were crisped up just right with the perfect amount of salt & pepper for a simple seasoning. It may be hard to tell from the photos, but the Sunsetter is bigger than most other eggs benedict platters I've had. Many places use English muffins that I'd say are baseball sized, but these were more like softball sized. My wife enjoyed her eggs & bacon platter as well, with 3 strips of thick cut applewood smoked bacon & the same country potatoes. All in all I'd go back to Sunset Grill in a heartbeat on my next visit to Fredericksburg. It's a great food spot with great service IMO! read more
Such a delicious brunch spot! Very busy but worth the wait. Efficient and very nice server. The menu is well rounded and quality. Casual and bright interior with outside seating. My Josephine was a perfect amount of savory & sweet with a fried egg, ham, biscuit, and the best fig jam! Coffee was dark roast and delicious. There is a nice menu of hot and cold coffee drink options also. A total local gem. read more

Family ate here before going on our Enchanted Rock adventure. I could have stayed just to try all of their different coffee options alone! The space is smaller than what we are used to, but it's not bad. We appreciated how clean and bright everything was. Next time we will try out the patio seating- it looked so inviting even with the heaters but we sat inside this time. read more

The best breakfast/brunch in Fredricksburg. Be prepared for a wait on any given day but they are quite efficient in getting you served with consistently great tasting food...literally everything on the menu is perfect! If you're alone or a party of 2 you can usually skip the wait and sit at the bar to eat(first come first serve rule). Do yourself a favor and order a biscuit if your meal doesn't come with one. They are phenomenal! read more

Kailey our waitress was phenomenal such amazing energy. So welcoming and personable. We stopped in town and had to try this place for brunch. I ordered the Bourbon street Benedict 9/10 enjoyed the Louisiana flavors and it had a decent amount of shrimp. Wish there was more hollandaise sauce Friends ordered: Banana pecan pancakes 8.5/10 pancakes were soft but wish they were more fluffy French toast 6/10 it was just French toast nothing special about it Avocado toast 10/10 it was fresh and light and nice balance of ingredients. Drinks: Mangorita so refreshing and nice balance of sweetness The sunset was underwhelming! Strong champagne if youre a champagne person yet the blueberry and pomegranate didnt really shine. I thought by the name it would be a pretty drink. This is a cute place that offers farm to table. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating options with friendly welcoming staff and a good variety of food options. A must try for this quaint town read more

The mix of sweet and savory was the perfect combination to start our day before visiting the winery. The servers were super friendly and efficient! They turned over tables quickly to make wait times minimal to nonexistent. The restaurant is comfortable but small! There is plenty of patio seating as well but the TX heat can make it hard to sit outside after 10 AM. read more

American bistro with a lively menu. The restaurant is light & airy. Patio available. Service is quick and friendly. I love the water carafe at the table, very convenient. I had the classic Egg & Bacon Breakfast, and the sunny-side up was picture-perfect. Bacon was thick and crisp---4 pieces so I had to share! The potatoes were just like Gramma made in her cast iron skillet. Don't get me started on the sourdough toast. My partner chose the Lumberjack Omelette--it arrived as advertised with 'all the meats': bacon, sausage, ham, chorizo. He lapped it up, before accepting my extra bacon. Yes, he suffered the meat sweats later but insists10/10 he'd do it again. Even though the place was packed, the service was very attentive. We will definitely return when in the area. I think this is our third or fourth time here. We love this place. Delicious food! I always order breakfast here. I did get a side salad this time, yes I know it sounds strange and doesn't go with breakfast, but I'm trying to add more vegetables to my diet. I'm so glad I did get it, though, the dressing was amazing, it was drinkable lol. Highly recommend this place. Wanted to check this place out seeing as it's the #1 reviewed Fredericksburg restaurant. We came in on a Sunday around 10am and it was slammed. We waited around 30 minutes to be seated. We ordered a coffee, pancakes with a side of bacon, and the biscuit and gravy with included potatoes and 2 eggs. I didn't realize they have a whole bar area to do specialty coffee drinks and they didn't really advertise it with a menu or anything. The pancakes were good and really sweet, bacon was good but was $4.50 for 3 slices as an add on. The biscuit was a little dry and needed more gravy. But the flavor was good. Overall a pretty solid breakfast spot, but we thought what we ordered was a little pricy. read more

Yes! We serve mimosas during brunch! They’re $7 each and we have a few different flavors that include OJ, Blueberry Pomegranate, Tropical and Grapefruit. We unfortunately can’t serve until 10am on Sunday with food due to Texas state law.
