Eggs benedict with salmon and fresh fruit.

Breakfast at Fred Brunch. Great place to sit outside. The space used to be Sunset Grill but they expanded the area. Good service. Good food with big portions. They also have mimosas. Yum

Monte cristo with truffle fries

Server forgot our drinks from start to finish. They stuck 4 of us on a itty bitty table so when people walked past our forks went flying. They stuffed so many tables into such a small space. The coffee cups were filled all the way to the top so we couldn't add anything to them. The matcha martini was ok, truffle fries were cooked to perfection. Our pancakes were black and burnt to a crisp then "hidden" under powered sugar. Same thing with the monte cristo. Disappointed with several things on this visit the bathroom also did not have toilet paper.

My wife and I visited Fredericksburg Brunch Company on a Friday morning before a day of wine tasting. Overall, we were happy with the dishes we ordered -- the Eggs Benedict and the Crab Benedict were both flavorful and well-prepared. That said, a few things held the experience back. Even though the restaurant was only about half full, the noise level was surprisingly high. Some additional sound‑dampening would go a long way toward making the dining room more comfortable. Until that's addressed, the patio might be the better choice for anyone sensitive to noise. We also noticed a cockroach next to our table. The hostess handled it quickly and professionally, but it was still concerning to see during a meal. Finally, the bacon appeared to be cooked in bulk on a sheet pan, which left it a bit flat and lacking crispness -- a small detail, but one that's easy to improve. In short: good food, friendly staff, and potential to be a great brunch spot with a few operational tweaks.

Delicious FBC omelette. Pancakes are a bit heavy, but everything else was perfect. Friendly service avg prices.

This place offered us the best service! We showed up a weekend that was cooler that it had been so when we asked for a heater to be moved by us outside, they went above and beyond and moved them close to us! They even found us that didn't have jackets some jackets to lay over our shoulders for those of us that were unprepared lol! They then moved umbrellas when it started sprinkling! Not to mention the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend the eggs Neptune!

Came in on a Tuesday for our 10th anniversary. Place was not too busy and the inside is simple but nice. Music was soft in the background and not too overwhelming. Service was prompt and the kept my drinks filled through the whole meal (a BIG deal for me and one of my measures of a great wait staff). I got the Egg's Neptune and my wife got the French Toast with bacon. I'm always worried about crab cakes away from the Northeast, but these were SOLID and for $21, it's not a bad price for crab cakes. The hollandaise was creamy and perfectly seasoned, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the fruit was fresh (grapes, cantaloupe, blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple). French toast was simple but delicious. Two LARGE pieces and 4 big bacon slices for $15. Price for everything was perfect, coffee was delicious, and food was great. Although this is about an hour and half drive for us (we live in San Antonio), we will be back.

Veggie Omelette

Hey hungry travelers, it's me James F. reporting on doings in the Hill Country. Let's first talk about Nury and family. They used to work for one of my favorites in Fredericksburg. One day they decided to forge their own culinary path and left said restaurant group. Since that day it's full steam ahead opening multiple restaurants. Mostly family run; loved most of what I've tasted to date. For this review, they decided to open a restaurant when another relocated. Always loved this space; parking not so much. Fredericksburg Brunch Company! We arrived and were seated quickly (this won't last long). One of my favorite appetizers on the planet? Yes, please and an immediate order of escargot before I even ordered a beverage. OMG, garlic and butter overload. Nicely toasted bread. A perfect start to any meal. Yes, even breakfast in a German town. I went spendy and went for the Crab Cake Benedict. Also subbing the muffin for a biscuit. Only complaint was the dish needed more hollandaise. I also asked for salsa for my taters. A smoky element I didn't expect but amazing flavors. GF enjoyed her Veggie Omelette. Usual suspects on vegetables but the swiss and avocado versus over typical cheddar. Recap, coffee fantastic, food top notch, service friendly!

The food was delicious and fresh! Cute environment! Was very busy & did take a little bit of a time but nothing crazy. The noise inside was pretty loud due to all of the people in a smaller space, so outdoors maybe an option of you are wanting more of a quiet experience. Wait time was a bit longer than what we thought it would be.

French toast and sausage

Fredericksburg Brunch recently opened in the former location of Sunset Grill. Interior looks about the same, but the ambiance is a bit less raucous than its predecessor. With fresh flowers on the table and escargot available as a starter, they seem to be going for a French vibe. Getting into the spirit, I ordered the French toast. (Is that really French? Not really sure but it sounded good.) It came with a hearty dousing of powdered sugar and three savory sausage links. Tasty, although the French toast was not very moist. My companion customized the vegetarian omelet by adding bacon, LOL. Fresh avocado slices on the top made it enjoyable to eat. Good coffee that our server regularly replenished. Alas, parking is still a problem, but if you can snag a spot, Fredericksburg Brunch is a solid choice.

Let's start with the good: food! We ordered the FBC breakfast, veggie omelet, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes. Eggs were nice and fluffy, portions were generous, and everything was delicious. Coffee was okay. The bad: unfortunately, the service was not up to par. Maybe it had to do with the 20% gratuity our waitress, Renata, chose to add? We asked for more sugar, never got it. Asked for butter and jam for our toast (ended up going to the kitchen and requesting it our self). Too many other instances to mention. Bottom line: great food, okay service.

Large pancakes with packets of butter vs softened scoops of butter.
Stephanie K.

Lovely setting, interesting menu - I was torn between so many options. I decided on pancakes which were tasty and large. I asked for extra butter when I ordered but none came. I asked the server for butter and was disappointed when packets arrived. If a menu can have caviar on it, then softened scoops of butter should be expected.

Biscuits and Gravy with Latte.

This place was great! The food was amazing and didn't take long at all. The restaurant is very chill and the staff was so kind and friendly. The menu had so many good options especially for cocktails. I HIGHLY recommend!!

Steak and Eggs, Crab Neptune, Pancakes

Excellent food and service. The ambiance is upscale but the prices are very good. Overall I would recommend it. Especially the crab benedict.

Staff is more interested in waiting on the large girl parties. Crab cakes are store bought, not made in house.

Social House -- Breakfast Done Right (Just... Very Close Together)…read more Social House is the kind of breakfast place that reminds you why brunch became a lifestyle in the first place. The food is genuinely good--thoughtful, fresh, and clearly made by people who care about flavor and your well-being. This is "healthy but not sad" breakfast, the kind that lets you feel virtuous without punishing you for it. The menu is strong across the board. Everything tastes intentional, balanced, and well-executed. You can tell someone in the kitchen understands restraint, texture, and the delicate art of making vegetables feel like a reward. Is it slightly overpriced? Yes. But it's the kind of overpriced you accept with a nod, because the plate in front of you earns most of it. The place is busy--very busy--but that's just life when a restaurant does things well. People show up. The issue isn't the crowd; it's the compression. Social House packs people in like a breakfast Tetris game. Tables are close enough that you accidentally learn about strangers' weekend plans, dietary restrictions, and relationship problems. It's communal in a way no one asked for. And that's really the only thing holding it back from five-star territory. The experience never quite gets to breathe. The food wants you to linger. The room says, "Eat joyfully, but quickly." Still, the staff handles the chaos with professionalism and grace, and the overall vibe remains warm and welcoming despite the controlled madness. This is a place that knows what it is: a popular, well-run, genuinely good breakfast spot that feeds a lot of people very well. Bottom line: if you want a healthy, tasty, reliably excellent breakfast and don't mind sharing oxygen with half of Austin, Social House delivers. Give me two fewer tables and I'd never stop going--but even as is, it's absolutely worth the visit.

So great to see they treat both locals and new guys with the same kindness and respect. When I asked if there was a jukebox by chance the guy (I believe Skylar) said "No but what do you want to hear?" I asked for some Stevie Nicks and he said no problem. I didn't expect any of that and was overjoyed to hear some Stevie over the speakers. What cool people here! The patrons at the front gave me recommendations on good spots and were very welcoming. I ended up with a Spicy Italian. This one had a nice kick but not overpowering and a generous size along with some coleslaw and a pickle. I couldn't quite finish it all. I'm kicking myself for forgetting my left overs. Oh well, that's a great excuse to go back and enjoy this awesome food/vibe all over again.

So make sure you come on the right days and close to noon or you're out of luck! I'll be waiting with the getaway car to load up on some of that cranberry walnut batch guaranteed. The lady who helped us here was an absolute delight. I was overwhelmed with all the great options and she gave me great info and her opinion, as well as asked if I was more in the mood for something hot or cold. She really helped me narrow things down. I ended up with a delicious Chicken Ceasar wrap in spinach tortilla and this beauty gave me two meals out of one box. I will have to come back for their reuben and one of their nicely portioned salads chock full of all the colors of the rainbow. They had a lovely bar where you can set up a laptop and people watch, as well as a beautiful outside patio with umbrellas to recline at. This little gem is attached to a plaza with Nobilitea (another great spot) across the hall along with a nail place, Pi social, and the Iron Goat. Unfortunately, this experience felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a dress rehearsal no one stopped. First problem: location confusion. We went to what turned out to be their second spot--which, crucially, was not called Nurys on the sign. Same ownership, new space, old identity crisis. Walking in felt like entering a building that hadn't yet decided what it wanted to be when it grew up. The lingering aroma? A strange duet of fish, antiseptic, and industrial cleaning agents. Not hunger-inducing. More "urgent care with a fryer." There was no one there, which made sense--it was between brunch and lunch--but somehow the wait for food felt disproportionately long for what arrived. What arrived, sadly, was mediocrity wearing a Tex-Mex costume. They seemed to be aiming for Tex-Mex but landed somewhere closer to Tex-Flex--stretching flavors thin until they snapped. The barbacoa was fatty in a way that suggested less "slow-cooked tradition" and more "glistening regret." It didn't taste authentic, or even especially intentional. Just heavy. The guacamole--perhaps the most unforgivable offense--was bad. Guacamole is avocados, salt, lime, and love. That's it. This had none of the above. The waitstaff wasn't rude, exactly--just possessed by the clear energy of people who would prefer you to finish quickly so they could resume their real lives. Hospitality should feel like an invitation, not a countdown. Now, maybe the original Nurys is wonderful. I hope it is. But if that's the case, why open a second location only to phone it in? Expansion should mean excellence multiplied, not care divided. There are too many good places in Fredericksburg doing things right to settle for something half-hearted. This one wasn't terrible--it was worse. It was forgettable. And that's the real disappointment.

Right away, the service felt off. Our waitress didn't even ask if we wanted drinks before jumping straight to, "Are you ready to order food?" Then she disappeared for long periods, even though we were basically her only table besides one other couple. The food was extremely underwhelming -- basic, barely warm, and nothing memorable. On top of that, there were so many flies inside that we were nonstop swatting them away. And to make matters worse, there was a bug in my drink when it was served to me. That was pretty much the final straw. Overall, a very forgettable and disappointing experience. We probably won't come again, and I would not recommend it.
