Large shrimp are lightly breaded with a spritz of sauce. Served with sliced strawberries, lettuce and chopped carrots - satisfying texture.

Modern cuisine with old town charm. Set in a creaky wood floor mercantile store from yesterday year is a comfortable dining space with antique lighting. We ordered the dynamite shrimp (not spicy, but lightly breaded) and fish tacos - finger licking good. Wife had a pork-hominy pazoli soup with Asada nachos. Get it. Both are full of flavor. I Recommend. We ate our share and took a box of leftovers. Kyle was attentive and made sure our glasses were always full on 99 degree TX-August evening.

Hopefully a one off but we were so excited to introduce Plus 1s Plus 1 to Nury's and their Pozole. Sad to say we 3 were provided with steaming bowls of fatty grizzle meat. Their nachos were AOK but we were so looking forward to our Saturday get you straight Pozole and it was a fail. Will we return, yes and hopefully have a better experience.

Seafood tower that was unimpressive. House made chips were cold, stale and hard.

Nury's on Main, where I wanted to have a memorable dining experience--just not this kind of memory. Let me start with the good stuff (it's a short list, don't blink): the wine was excellent. Truly, chef's kiss. And the service? Friendly and attentive. But alas, that's where the magic ended and the mess began. I made the choice to try the seafood tower, and boy, do I regret it. The shrimp? Imagine chewing on a well-worn eraser, but with less flavor. The crab? Well, I didn't know it was possible for something to taste like so flavorless, but here we are. Now, I will give credit where it's due--the cucumbers and pico de gallo were good. And those house-made chips? Cold, stale, and harder than a bad breakup. Honestly, they'd be better served as coasters. For me, this place is a "I'll go for a glass of wine," but you can get a glass of wine anywhere in Fberg. For $40, I left frustrated and hungry.

Took a trip to Austin to visit my daughter. We went to visit a winery in a little town Fredericksburg, not too far away. There were a lot of cute little shops and places to eat. Lots of families and people walking around with their pets. Very pet friendly community. We stopped in here to grab a bite to eat. We had some very good chips and salsa. I had some shrimp tacos and as you can see they were loaded with toppings. Very tasty. The service was good and we got our food pretty fast. You will probably end up parking away from the main street and then strolling through the shops and restaurants.

Superb asada empanadas (bottom) and surprisingly great tasting shrimp ceviche fresh (top)8

We had an exceptionally good lunch mid week. Service was great, restaurant has a nice relaxed feel to it. Excellent service. The Asada empanadas were served fresh out of the fryer and the corn-flavored batter paired really well with the beef, cheese, and sauce. My wife thought her shrimp ceviche was a Top-3 ceviche, and maybe the best she's ever had surprisingly. Their breakfast items sounded really good. We may try to pay them a visit next time in town.

Highly recommended! We were just grabbing a bite on the way through town and everywhere looked packed but Nury's had a couple empty tables (there are also back rooms so it's actually a lot bigger than it looks)! I can't really tell you much about Nury's except that the owner and staff are all super nice and friendly and the fish tacos are some of the best I've ever had! They're always kinda messy and hard to eat but these were super fresh and light with great sauces! If you're passing through Fredericksburg don't miss this place!

Table by entrance. Water and extensive selection of drinks.

Service and atmosphere were excellent. Food taste and presentation were excellent. The salad with shrimp was a little challenging, as it is a very full plate, cutting the shrimp and larger pieces was difficult with no room to spare on the plate. The spicy burger was very good, and would probably rival some of the best burgers available on Main Street in Fredricksburg. This restaurant has different menus at different times of day. Seafood, Hill Country comfort food, and Mexican cuisine.

Dropped here after a day in Fredericksburg. The service was efficient and quick. Cute restaurant, with a lot of beautiful decor. Unfortunately the food was a bit underwhelming and kind of over priced. I got fish tacos that were overloaded with toppings which made it pretty difficult to eat. The fish itself didn't have much flavor. The tacos also don't come with any sides. We also tried the chips and salsa and they do have some flavorful salsa.

Went in for a late lunch, not busy. Greeted when I walked in and sat immediately. The service here has been consistently good whether they are busy or not. Miranda checked on me just enough times and always made sure I had water in my glass. I ordered the Strawberry Spring Salad that comes with grilled chicken. It was delicious. I also got a chicken salad sandwich to go for my coworker. I have had that before and it's pretty good! Everything is a bit expensive for my taste, but at least the portions are very solid sizes so I'm not hungry at all afterwards. I like this spot for lunch, it's casual and they play good country music. What will bring me back every time is the positive service.

    Not Ceviche.

"Fish and chips," I said, somewhat confused. The young man who had come to our table after another server had given us glasses of water had oly asked if she taken our drink orders. Both my wife and I were fine with water and he stood there expectantly, as if waiting for us to invite him to sit down. Finally it dawned on me that he was here to take our orders. My wife, who had selected Nury's for our evening's repast, looked up at the waiter. "Ceviche," she said firmly. He nodded and headed back to the kitchen. I glanced around the dining room. "I'm not sure this restaurant knows what it wants to be," I declared. Rows of German beersteins, kettles, and cookware lined one wall, competing with corn molcajete grinding stones and other Mexican decor on the other. There was a distinct sea flavor to the place as well, as if the restaurant was trying to channel Red Lobster, but via Cancun. So someone needs to explain how the hell a British staple like Fish and Chips ended up on the menu. It was late Sunday evening and there were few guests. The waiter brought out our entrees. "Here is your Fish & Chips sir, and your fish tacos, ma'am." I glanced down at three huge filets of batter fried fish, French fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. The waiter walked away. "I ordered Ceviche," said my wife quietly. I blinked. Her plate was covered with three huge, fully loaded (overloaded to be honest ) fish tacos. I immediately bowed up, intent on demanding correction, but my wife, who hates conflict, pulled me back down. "I'm hungry. These are fine," she told me. She had literally had fish tacos the night before so I looked at her suspiciously. "They are? Are you sure?" She nodded, more to appease me than, than herself. I gave in and with reservation, sampled my fish. Como dice. OMG. Succulent. Creamy. Buttery. Soft. Melt in your mouth goodness. My eyes widened in shock. What the bloody hell! No fish and chips EVER tasted this good. Never! "This fish is INCREDIBLE!" I said in shock to my wife as she struggled to pick up a taco with a tortilla about three times smaller than the accompanying fillings. She gave up as it disintegrated in her hand and she resorted to a fork. "Uh huh," she muttered in response. "Good." Sensing disaster, I looked over at her. "How is yours?" "Messy," she replied sullenly. "It tastes good, but the composition could be better constructed." She picked at taco two with her fork. "Your fish is good?" "Good? Its incredible! I've never had anything like this, ever! This is the best fried fish I've ever had. Its amazing!" She smiled. Canon. And it wasn't just the fish. The fries were crisp and salty. The coleslaw not overly sweet. and the tartar sauce perfect. Blimey! We ate our dinner and when the waiter returned, I asked what kind of fish I'd just eaten. He replied, "Basa swai." I'd never heard of it, but a little research told me that it is a catfish from Asia, known for its fatty richness and low omega-3. Hmmm, no wonder it tasted so good. Its not a common fish sold in the US due to being frequently farmed in poor conditions with high levels of bacteria, mercury and other contaminants. Wow, isn't Google helpful? Still, it tasted amazing, was perfectly cooked, and now, three hours later, I feel fine. My wife and I left and headed back for the hotel, reminiscing about basa swai, fish and chips and... "I wanted Ceviche," my wife complained, regretting her decision not to bring it to the restaurant's notice, clearly following her like a storm follows a fisherman home. Mexican Cantina? British Pub? Seaside grill? Who knows? I don't. But go anyway. Decide for yourself. Just make sure if you want the Ceviche, that you GET the Ceviche. I'm the Gourmet Goob.

Grabbed a quick lunch on a Wednesday before heading out to tour the Fredericksburg Pioneer Museum. The chicken enchiladas verde were covered in melted cheese & delicious tomatillo sauce and served with rice and beans. The seafood ceviche bowl came with fried tortilla chips and was a huge portion. Our server was super friendly and efficient. Our sangrias were just the right size for lunch but we missed the fruit in them.

What a little gem Nury's is. We came to Nury's on Main for lunch after visiting the elephant preserve. The interior is quite quaint and cozy with a bit of a hodgepodge of things as far as decor is concerned. Service is quick and the food came out much faster than we anticipated. For the price, the servings are generous. The crab nachos were my favorite thing we ordered. There was a good amount of crab -- looked to be blue crab meat. Will definitely return when back in Fredericksburg.

Anything but shimp in the shrimp ceviche. Lackluster
    G G.

Meh. Nearly no shimp in the cerviche, service was slow as molasses. Lacking flavor, service and that something that has you coming back.

Initially, the hostess told us they couldn't accommodate our party, but then they changed their mind. The interaction felt uncomfortable, as she emphasized their policies for large groups and mentioned that they normally require a minimum of $145 per person. She ultimately allowed us to bypass that requirement as long as everyone ordered an entrée. Our waitress, however, was wonderful and provided excellent service throughout the meal. I ordered the clam and mussel pot, which I found surprisingly bland, though the bread was delicious. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals much more than I did. Unfortunately, there were also some cleanliness concerns. A spider descended from the ceiling onto our table during dinner, and another bug crawled across the table. There was even a bug zapper in the corner of the restaurant that seemed to be going off constantly throughout our meal. For a party of seven, our bill came to around $700. Given the overall experience, the food quality, and the atmosphere, it felt a bit underwhelming for the price.

For me, the best part of our order was the bang bang shrimp. If I get to go back I'll just order 2 of those & call it good! The spinach & artichoke appetizer was good, but offered a pretty standard flavor profile. The seared salmon was the best salmon dish I've tasted in a long time, paring nicely with the mashed potatoes & roasted veggies that came with it. Both cocktails were amazing, but my wife said the blackberry margarita was fantastic. The most negative thing about GH was extremely limited indoor seating availability & the lack of reservations, but now you've been warned. It was a short trip for us, but we will be back to GH on our next visit to Fredericksburg for sure.

The restaurant is located inside an old house along Main Street. The front room is 1/2 lounge area, 1/2 dining room, plus the bar area. There are two side dining rooms, the "green" room and the "red" room. Even the bathroom is cool! Great vibe and good music throughout the evening. Luckily, we got there early, and we're able to walk in without a reservation and sit at the bar. The restaurant was short-staffed, "staff on vacations" we were told, quite a few customers had difficulty enduring the service. They needed several other people there! Our bartender/waiter was Harper, and he did a fantastic job that evening, even though the place got really busy. The craft cocktail selection is extensive and very imaginative, many fun and exciting concoctions. We decided to start with The Navigator and a Banana Old Fashioned, both of which were delicious. The Navigator is a gin cocktail, with citrus and honey, a dash of grapefruit bitters and egg whites. Quite a tasty treat! The Banana Old Fashioned is a rum mixture, with some allspice, banana liqueur and walnut bitters. Delicious! We were also served a small amuse bouche of plantain soup that was a great first taste of things to come. After discussing the food menu with Harper, our food choices began with the duck spring rolls and the truffled burrata. The duck was perfectly prepared, and the spring rolls fried hot, not greasy at all. A side sweet and sour sauce on the side. The burrata ball was served well chilled, truffle pearls on top, drizzled with a nice balsamic reduction and served with thin garlic toast. Both dishes rate: amazing! Round two of cocktails included a Floating Petals, a vodka drink with very herbaceous notes, and the Volcano Ashes, a tequila/coconut/orange blend with black lava sea salt sprinkled on top. Both drinks were so good! We split the crispy chicken entree, a fried chicken breast atop risotto, covered with prosciutto and smoked gouda cheese. Delicious, but a bit salty for our taste. Almost every ingredient had a salt component, and the cumulative effect was the saltiness. For dessert we chose the Tierrita, a parfait glass filled with chocolate mousse and cookie crumbles... sweet and tasty, topped with a huge strawberry! A glass of local Texas Sangiovese accompanied the dessert and was a good pairing! So many other good things on the menu, we'd definitely go back to try more, cocktails and food! Recommend The Traveler Collections!

I ordered the Eggs Benedict, substituting bacon for ham, with a biscuit and gravy on the side. The Eggs Benedict was good. I loved the unexpected touch of Swiss cheese, which added a nice twist to a classic dish. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but the bacon was cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Fredericksburg. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and even better service!

They encourage more Formal which is refreshing in a town where most restaurants invite casual. We were on time for our reservation, but waited a few minutes in their small waiting area. The hostess/manager had a bit of a school principal attitude, but overall was pleasant. We were seated in a small room amongst several other tables, but still felt intimate. The lighting is a bit on the dark side, but the candles bring out a great atmosphere. A violinist and cello created a romantic feeling (Enchanted Rock Orchestra Strolling Duo). We started with cocktails, which were crafted beautifully. The menu has old classics as well as innovative ones. For the appetizers, we had the focaccia bread which was delicious as well as the stuffed mushrooms which were delicately made and quite tasty. The wine list is short but encompasses Old world and New World wines. My wife had a Bordeaux while I had a Tuscany blend. Both delicious. For our entrées, we shared the filet mignon with peppercorn sauce with candied brussels sprouts and hand whipped mashed potatoes as sides. The food was surprisingly delicious, well presented and portioned. We truly enjoyed our entrées. For dessert we had the bananas foster cheesecake. Unique, not too sweet, delicious ending. If you come to Fredericksburg, definitely try this restaurant. You will enjoy the experience, the ambience and most definitely the food.

Wagyu should taste highly flavorful! - Mashed potatoes were authentic, yet also bland and lacked flavor. - Great cocktails and wine options. - Very limited space inside. It's difficult to walk to the bar or bathroom without running into multiple people, so if you prefer spacious areas, lookup pics of this place first! - Charging around $20 per person to book a reservation (refunded at check-in) and being unable to change a reservation the day before, even when the restaurant still shows availability, is ridiculous. I've visited tiny islands where the locals truly depend on tourism for every dollar of their livelihood, so you can't tell me this restaurant needs to charge for reservations to survive. I've never experienced this anywhere as a frequent traveler! - I respect their strict NO ball caps policy, but it was odd that my husband and I had a large naked Marilyn Monroe portrait on the wall for our main view. That's not exactly classy either!
