Many people love Barreras, but today is my 5th visit, trying to find anything that is 4-5-star worthy, and I simply cannot find anything. The employees are great, the place is clean, prices are good, but frankly, the food is just not good. The taco meat tastes like boiled ground beef with zero flavoring, the refried beans are watered down, the rice is dry, and every item I've been served in my last five visits was cold. It's a shame because there are positives to everything they've got going on, except the food. Today was my last visit. read more

I have been here quite a few times. This little gem in Ingram has the best food! Whether you get it to go or sit inside, the service is awesome. They are so friendly and helpful. I have yet to find something here that I have not loved. My favorite is the Chicken Tortilla soup, but the burritos are awesome and so is the pozole, the street tacos are great as well!!! The chicken tortilla soup (YUM!), the mini tacos, the burritos, the breakfast tacos, the fried shrimp plate...everything is good. I wish they were open later for more days, but it doesn't take away from how good the food is. I also wish they had a milder salsa option - I know, I know, but it is what it is. Great food. Nice people. Casual seating. And the fact that they are in downtown Ingram makes it even better! I hope this place lasts a very long time! read more

Beyond thrilled to write this review to this wonderful location that just opened! Don't let the name fool you because it's not just a "Taco Shop", they have an extensive menu options! Their items are unique since you won't find them in surrounding areas of Ingram or Kerrville. The Jumbo Fried Shrimp(pictured) were super delicious and crunchy (huge plate!) Their Cubana Torta was really flavorful, and very loaded!! We were impressed by their unique "sazón" or flavor, that was very authentic. Another factor that will have their customers returning is their welcoming smiles, and great customer service. They have done a great job with the remodeling of the location. I've now been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks so figured it was time to post a review. I took some pictures during my first visit which I'd shared with family. So far I've tried dishes with 3 of their proteins: asada in a classic burrito, pastor in a taco with cilantro & onions, and amazing carnitas for lunch today on a carnitas plate with rice, beans, & pico de gallo. All were very tasty and tasted like they were served hot off the flat top. Also haf a chile relleno lunch plate which was excellent, coated in egg batter and filled with white gooey cheese and ground beef. Their refried beans are great as is their rice. Chips and salsa are complementary. The table salsa is very good, a bion the mild side. They also have red & green hot sauces which are exactly as they should be: hot! Hint: add a little of the red hot sauce to the sauce for the chips. It really wakes it up. read more

I passed by with my fiancé earlier and we really liked the food, great portions, nice ambiance, the service was really nice as well which we appreciate and the business was perfectly clean. I got two gorditas one asada and a barbacoa, the meat was delicious! They added also cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I wish the cheese was melted, it was just cold as the other toppings. My fiancé got the original burrito with a side of beans and rice, the meat was well seasoned and the plate overall great. For drinks I got the sweet tea, I think it was on point for me! not too sweet. My fiancé got the horchata, it is was the best horchata I have tried in the US so far, loved it! Wish I took pictures to post but I was too hungry I ate it as soon as the server gave it to me, it was nicely presentable! read more
