Very nice little cafe in Ingram. Quite clean, good food and service. Nothing fancy Breakfast well priced. Restroom clean.

With Ingram's small town charm & it being my first time there, I just had to check out the local diner. These are one of my favorite places to search for, and if they serve biscuits, I just have to try. I ordered the breakfast sandwich to go. You have a choice of bread, in which I chose biscuit, as well as egg, cheese, & choice of meat. I opted out of the meat. And a side of hashbrowns. The woman that took my order at the register was sweet & working hard mending the tables as well. I know the unwritten rule of ordering to-go is check if everything is there & correct. I didn't think I needed to for something as simple as an egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. To my dismay, there was absolutely no cheese. I even pulled apart the folded egg & inspected it to see if maybe cheese cooked into it...nope. Took a bite, still no cheese. I asked for the egg under cooked & it was certainly overcooked with some spots of a light brown but I'll try my best not to hold that against them since it was to-go. And omg the biscuit....a miserable looking biscuit smaller than my palm. Crumbly & soft inside, taste that was decent but nothing close to redeeming the size & not including cheese. The hashbrowns, super greasy! Had a puddle of the grease sitting on the bottom of the box & at seeped bottom of bag too. Very disappointing. read more

We went for Sunday breakfast. It was a little busy but there wasn't a wait. It's small inside but comfortable. We ordered the hunter house breakfast which was delicious. Nice thick bacon and the pancakes we so good! They have just a touch of vanilla flavor which I love! We will be back. Prices were great too. Service excellent. read more

Just a quaint hole in the wall breakfast joint playing old country music with some of the best darn breakfast you can have. The decor will remind those of us that grew up in small-town Texas of the diners we would have Saturday breakfasts where either our grandparents or parents would chat the morning away with folks coming in and out they knew. Pancakes were perfectly done with an excellent batter that had the slightest hint of sweetness. Grits were yummy and hot - perfect consistency. Biscuits were hot perfection on a plate; fluffy as cotton candy and melt in your mouth soft. Bacon was perfectly done; not too crispy and not flimsy. Hash browns were done just right with that mix of crispy and soft potato-y goodness. The waitress was hustlin and handlin the whole place like a pro! Food quality not consistent. Eggs typically cooked as ordered. Hash browns are terrible; either burnt on the outside and middle like mashed potatoes or overall undercooked. Gravy is either runny or clumpy. Service is very friendly. Save Inn $ and Ridge Marketplace $$ have much better food. read more

Great food, reasonable prices. This is a great local country cafe with very friendly service and a down-home atmosphere. I had the huevos rancheros. It was great! The refried beans were the best! I don't know what their secret is, but these are the best I've ever had. My wife had the veggie omelet. It was good with a side of salsa. The coffee was good. The biscuits were very good. Oh my goodness, talk about a breakfast SCORE! This is the real deal; I'm talking thick cut (but still crispy!), smokey bacon; fluffy, buttery biscuits; perfectly cooked, crispy hashbrowns; real butter; homemade salsa! So yummy! 9 out of 10 times I won't even eat bacon unless my mom cooks it, but this was even better than my mom's! I'm not one who normally gets too excited about breakfast, but this was DELICIOUS! This is a small little restaurant by the Hunter House motel. The food was good portions were plentiful. We went for brunch and I had the big breakfast and it was big. Great place for breakfast. A little bit of a longer wait than most places. I overheard one of the servers mention she "took another takeout order". They're very busy inside and also busy taking phone orders for pick up. That's a sign of a good place to eat. The elder server was laser focused on getting orders out. Do not stop her for any idle chit-chat, she won't engage, she has no time. She whirled around tables getting food out as fast as her little body could go. With help hard to find these days, you can't knock the place for not having time for anything other than a putting plates on tables and re-filling coffee. Our breakfast was great. It came out hot and made to order. The only thing I wasn't impressed with are the biscuits. They were covered in a large amount of gravy, so much gravy that you couldn't tell that the biscuits were actually over-baked bottoms of remnants of biscuits. Other than the "biscuits"; the rest of my scrambled egg with beef was hot and delicious. Great mix of onions and peppers. The hash browns were crisp and hot. No complaints. My husband's breakfast came exactly as he ordered. Extra crispy bacon, eggs over medium all came perfectly. This place received five stars for being open, having a great breakfast menu, and for that rapid fire pace at trying to get those plates delivered with intent. These ladies worked hard and didn't cave to the "brave new world" mindset by staying home to collect BIG Government "winnings". They're working and we appreciated them today. Good workers are hard to find these days. Thank you, we will come back next time we visit this amazing Hill Country. read more

I was staying up the street at Worldmark for a few days before I even realized this was a restaurant. I found it in Yelp after hiking one day. Enjoyed a big hearty breakfast and kept my service dog under the table and slid him some bacon. Lol. Waitress was nice and attentive. I had a plate with eggs, beans and tortillas. Just a local diner somewhat by our hotel but they are friendly and everything tastes great, especially considering the low low prices! We had everything from pancakes and biscuits and gravy and French toast and breakfast tacos and bacon and more! You really can't go wrong. They had a nice stream of business as well. They were busy, and I understand that I've worked in the restaurant field most of my life! The eggs were nasty, and the hashbrowns were only cooked on one side and they were almost burnt on that side! The waitress was a good waitress. She took three dollars off for the bad hashbrowns. Ok it's a very small cafe. But I like that old fashion hometown cafe feel. Sorry I didn't ask waitress her name. Very nice & courteous attitude. I asked for suggestions for breakfast and complied. I had the Miga's with corn tortillas. Side of biscuits & sausage gravy. My buddy had bacon & pancakes. All very good. Couldn't even finish our breakfast. So much. $28.75 for both of us. Looking for a good breakfast place and this little cafe is right behind our Air bnb. Prices are very affordable and portions are large. I ordered the half order double barrel taco (huge! I would hate to see the full portion!!) with a side of grits, kid ordered the chorizo and egg taco with hashbrowns, and the hubby ordered the migas. I could barely finish mine, left the tortilla because it got kind of soggy from the filling and they used American cheese instead of cheddar which just isn't the same. They have daily specials and I would like to come back to try their lunch, either the burger or chicken fried steak. Service was good and attentive but it was a little slow. Went here with coworkers for lunch. This is a small place with great food and service!! I got the nachos and omgoodness, it was huge and delicious! They did not skimp on the toppings. I saw the beef tips plate and it was huge, looked so good. Everyone was happy with their food. I will be back for sure to try other items off of the menu. read more

Every time I go into Hunter House it's the same lady waiting tables. She always has a smile on her face. The food has always been excellent, my personal recommendation for breakfast is the "Double barrel omelette " if you like something with everything in it. It's not a new place, but a quaint, nostalgic diner with old, interesting photos on the wall. The food is mostly breakfast but I saw some yummy looking burgers go out too. We had breakfast. If you like sweet pancakes, theirs are made with cake batter and were very tasty. The place was packed, which is always a good sign but service was top notch and quick. We will be back.
