This place is so so so cute in a super cool location. I got a side of biscuits and gravy and bacon and it was so yummy! The bacon was especially good. I also got to try the ham steak and it was spectacular. My whole group was raving about their food. Our server was so nice and brought everything we needed! Highly recommend for breakfast (get here early, it's a popular spot)

Great diner experience. Lots of cool planes outside. People fly in from all over. Had the club, a chicken salad sandwich and a hamburger. Great fries!

I absolutely love this quaint diner. As you sit and eat, you can watch the planes come in and take off. The food is good. I will attach photos of the menu, service was super friendly and fast, but being able to sit there and watch outside was amazing. I will definitely be back food. Prices were good and you definitely got good portions.

We have been to Fredericksburg many times and just discovered this place. We'd been searching for a classic 40s diner such as this for years. We came for breakfast and came back the same day for lunch. Katie was our waitress and she was awesome, and their migas, French toast, Helipad, and onion rings were fantastic! We'll be back, and there are so many things on the menu we want to try!

This Diner is right next door to the Hangar Hotel and it was so convenient to check out of the hotel and grab some breakfast from the Airport Diner. Right off the bat, the decor is awesome, it had a very vintage feel to it. The service was awesome. We had a great server, she was awesome. The food was good and the coffee was also good. We would return if we stayed at the Hangar Hotel again.

On one of our trips to Fredericksburg, my wife and I, her brother and sister in law decided to eat a Sunday brunch there. Our first choice, Sunset Grill had people lined out the door and many more waiting to get served. We did not even stop. Our second choice was not much better. It was packed with people waiting outside as well. As we searched for a place to eat, we remembered that the airport had a diner so we went there to see if it was easier than the first 2 places to get breakfast. It had people waiting but the wait was rewarded when we found a table. It was first come, first served. Now, the diner looks over the jetway where the small planes can park and the flyers can walk over to the diner and eat. It's pretty entertaining. You can watch planes take off and land right there while you eat. My brother in law is a licensed pilot and loves to fly and watch airplanes. We've eaten lunch here but not breakfast. It was busy so while the service was not great, it was adequate and those young ladies who work there work fast and furious. They really earn their tip for sure. The food is good - again not great - it is a diner after all. Overall, it was an adequate breakfast. Fredericksburg is a place full of promise if you are inclined to open a breakfast/ brunch restaurant for Sundays. It was amazing to see the amount of people we saw lined up patiently to eat breakfast or brunch. This might be a big opportunity for some enterprising person interested in serving breakfast to hungry people in Fredericksburg, TX!

Great diner prices and the food came out quick. Also really neat to watch some of the planes fly down or take off. Highly recommend on your trip to Fredericksburg!

Cute little, very little, diner on the airport. Food wasn't great. I tried the SOS off the breakfast menu. The biscuits were dry, gravy was bland, the eggs over cooked, and the potatoes seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp to long. My wife had the sausage and onion sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. Her was better, but the waffle fries tasted like a fair food. Maybe the oil they use. We can at least check it off the list. On to the next $100 hamburger!

Decided to give Airport Diner another shot; last reviewed by Ol' Rooster 8 years ago. GF and I had snuck out to Fredericksburg the evening before for a getaway. Decided to sleep in a bit; making our usual breakfast fave Sunset Grill not ideal because of the wait time. I was already hearing aircraft action in the skies at our hotel; something that was totally absent during from the start of the pandemic. Decided to give them another go so we could see some runway action as we dined and sipped coffee. The airport action did not disappoint! Multi million dollar jet landed and taxied by; helicopter came to life and headed south. Lots of small private planes arriving as we unfortunately dined on totally mediocre food just like 8 years ago. SOS plate aka biscuits and gravy with homefries and eggs was barely warm. Eggs ordered over easy were scorched from being cooked at a high temp. Biscuits were shown no love; not even split for you. Taters with chili powder spiked salsa was the best bites. GF's migas suffered the same temperature issue. Cooks still won't cook bacon to order according to our server. She was friendly attentive and that's why we're at 2 stars (down from three stars previously). You're better off getting McDonalds and sitting on the tarmac!

I ordered the Eggs Benedict, substituting bacon for ham, with a biscuit and gravy on the side. The Eggs Benedict was good. I loved the unexpected touch of Swiss cheese, which added a nice twist to a classic dish. The hollandaise was a little on the sour side, but the bacon was cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was the real star of my meal, so good that I almost wish I had ordered it as my main! Definitely getting that next time. My husband went for The Big Ass Sandwich and loved it. Fair warning- it lives up to its name. It's big, it's messy, and it's absolutely worth it. He said the same thing I was thinking: we need to come back. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip to Fredericksburg. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast spot with good food and even better service!

Sturdy enough to hold up the thick bacon, lettuce, tomato, mashed avocado and had a light layer of aioli that I appreciated did not take over the sandwich. The salad was light, tasty, & the glazed pecans were a special treat. The other dishes enjoyed were the Texas Triple and 1/2 Chicken salad sandwich with potato corn soup. My husband ordered the tri-tip,…read moreand when ordering, the waiter stated it could only be prepared medium-rare or more well done -- not rarer -- and we placed the order based on that. When the dish arrived, however, the steak was clearly overcooked and closer to well done than medium-rare. When we raised the concern, the waiter claimed she had told us the meat would come out anywhere from medium-rare to well done due to how it sits in the warmer, and then suggested we must have misunderstood her initial explanation. This contradiction was frustrating and unprofessional, especially as it felt like our concern was being dismissed rather than addressed. Both the waiter and manager insisted the steak was cooked correctly, despite it clearly not being medium-rare. After we sent it back, they replaced it with a filet that was prepared properly. They did remove the original entrée from the bill, but then charged us for the filet at cost. Given the situation, it would have been more appropriate to simply substitute the filet at the original menu price. Unfortunately, my meal was also very underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor and was not enjoyable. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a special anniversary dinner. I will say -- the hummus plate was delightful. Light and great flavor for an appetizer. The drinks were also very good too.

We ordered blue cheese with the wings and got ranch. Our celery was probably previously frozen as we could bend it together and touch each end without it breaking! Told the server about this when we asked for new sauces. He replied, sorry... he took the two unopened sauces and brought two blue cheese out. Not replacing the third. I know it's petty, but I did not realize that my water would come in a bottle, with no ice. I asked for ice he brought it out. I also asked if there was a charge for the bottle of water. He said yes. It would've been nice to know that before I ordered. We were very surprised at the end when we asked him if we could get two checks for our table, he shared with us he couldn't, it had to be on one rather than cause a scene we decided to deal with it. At the end, we ask if we could get a receipt, he shared the best he could do is to let us come up and take a picture of the screen. Little bit disappointed in the entire experience as we are here from the state of Ohio and had hoped for a bit of a different experience.
