Such a nice building inside the restaurant is beautiful. Our server was super nice and explained all their dishes they were known for and gave recommendations. The cornbread was fire, order it! I didn't get a photo because we devoured it immediately!

This was a great new find for us. Make sure you don't come too hungry. We had a little wait for inside, where I really wanted to be. The patio was nice and once the sun went down it was more tolerable I'm sure. The food was fantastic! I loved the cornbread skillet. The shrimp tacos were packed and full of flavor. The chicken schnitzel was good too. This place has a cute rustic Texas vibe. If in town try it out!

Great meal. Hill & Vine has been here for 5 years and we just now found it. Glad we did. Four of us came here for dinner on a Tuesday around 6 pm. Brianna was our server and she did a great job of taking care of us. One in our party had a drink. She ordered an Alstadt lager - a local beer. The rest of us had water. We started out with the Onion Rings appetizer. Wow - really yummy. They were large, crispy and served with 2 sauces. For dinner, my wife and I shared a Wedge Salad and the Bison Bolognese. The kitchen split the salad for us and we table split the Bolognese ourselves. Both the salad and the bolognese were great. Our friends split a grilled fish entree. I forget which fish it was but they really enjoyed it. My wife and I split the Croissant Bread Pudding. And OMG, it was among the best bread puddings I've ever had. We will definitely be returning to Hill and Vine and we've shared our experience with other friends as well.

We came here during our honey moon and had a great experience. Our waitress was great and suggested this tequila drink that came in a cowboy boot, it was delicious and the food was great! They had a cute interior and walkway to the tables. Also they have a big patio for people who love patio seating

A total local gem that served delicious food from apps to dessert! Cocktails were also unique and tasty. Nice shareable portions with healthy options also. Good quality all around. Relaxing atmosphere and a good space/layout. Service was friendly and efficient for our group. Definitely recommend trying it out when in the area!

We had the goat cheese appetizer, filet & avocado lime salad with tri tip. The filet was a little over cooked, but still enjoyed! The wine sauce wasn't our favorite. The picpoul was a great choice for wine!

I love love love this place! Dropped in for a late lunch on a Friday and the restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly, the setting was inviting and the food was incredible! I truly enjoyed the BLTA and the chicken salad looked amazing! Little tip, do not sleep on the onion rings, they were perfect!

This place was so cute and the food was really good. We went for my birthday while we were in town. There was a short wait because it was a Sunday morning and brunch time but we were sat fairly quickly. Service was quick and friendly. I loved everything I tasted and we all enjoyed our food. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and waffles. It was such a pretty presentation too. I also ordered a mint gin drink to start with and then a prickly pear mimosa. They had outdoor seating too. I would definitely come back here

We were really disappointed with our anniversary dinner experience. My husband ordered the tri-tip, and when ordering, the waiter stated it could only be prepared medium-rare or more well done -- not rarer -- and we placed the order based on that. When the dish arrived, however, the steak was clearly overcooked and closer to well done than medium-rare. When we raised the concern, the waiter claimed she had told us the meat would come out anywhere from medium-rare to well done due to how it sits in the warmer, and then suggested we must have misunderstood her initial explanation. This contradiction was frustrating and unprofessional, especially as it felt like our concern was being dismissed rather than addressed. Both the waiter and manager insisted the steak was cooked correctly, despite it clearly not being medium-rare. After we sent it back, they replaced it with a filet that was prepared properly. They did remove the original entrée from the bill, but then charged us for the filet at cost. Given the situation, it would have been more appropriate to simply substitute the filet at the original menu price. Unfortunately, my meal was also very underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor and was not enjoyable. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a special anniversary dinner. I will say -- the hummus plate was delightful. Light and great flavor for an appetizer. The drinks were also very good too.

Great food! Great service! A little packed but we only waited 20 minutes! Our server was so helpful! We ordered the mango ceviche as an appetizer and it was so tasty! It does have a little bit of a spice kick! The BLTA is massive and very filling!

I love the vibe of this place - it's fancy yet welcoming, and the food is absolutely delicious! This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations. Our server was super attentive and quick to take our order and bring out our food. Everything we tried was incredible, but the peach ceviche and grits with bacon were the standouts - I couldn't stop eating! My breakfast did come with a burnt slice of bacon (as you can see in the pic), but when I mentioned it to our server, they immediately brought me a fresh one without any hesitation. Great recovery! The restaurant has plenty of space inside and outside, and we didn't have to wait since we chose indoor seating. Highly recommend this spot!

So I will preface this with we only tried one item. We came for breakfast and while the service was great the food was less than desirable. We ordered biscuits with gravy. It came out within five minutes. The eggs were cold and the gravy was not good. The biscuit was well done but everything included was not. If you are looking for a cute place to take pics this is your place, but if you are serious foodie this would not get my recommendation.

We were a bachelorette group, got here Saturday morning around 11. Waited about 20 minutes (told we'd wait about 30-45 min) and we got seated in the "private room" area, unfortunately it was a little hot in there but we managed lol 2 of us ordered the cornbread appetizer for the table, it was sooo good!!! 3 of us ordered the Chicken schnitzel & waffles woooow so filling and delicious!!! Everyone enjoyed their food & drinks. Our waitress was very nice and attentive I recommend getting there early as you can but also looking at the menu while waiting for a table lol

    Yes!

How difficult is it to get a table for 2 on a Saturday night? Their website says that they no longer take reservations.

We had no wait as a table of 4 on a Saturday night during peak and there were open tables inside and outside. I think if you're willing to sit outside, you'll be fine.

Will you take a reservation for large parties? We have 9 in our group - and we will be in Fredericksburg May 7-9

Initially, the hostess told us they couldn't accommodate our party, but then they changed their mind. The interaction felt uncomfortable, as she emphasized their policies for large groups and mentioned that they normally require a minimum of $145 per person. She ultimately allowed us to bypass that requirement as long as everyone ordered an entrée. Our waitress, however, was wonderful and provided excellent service throughout the meal. I ordered the clam and mussel pot, which I found surprisingly bland, though the bread was delicious. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals much more than I did. Unfortunately, there were also some cleanliness concerns. A spider descended from the ceiling onto our table during dinner, and another bug crawled across the table. There was even a bug zapper in the corner of the restaurant that seemed to be going off constantly throughout our meal. For a party of seven, our bill came to around $700. Given the overall experience, the food quality, and the atmosphere, it felt a bit underwhelming for the price.

We enjoyed the atmosphere - it looks like a house-turned-bar and has so much charm. We were able to place our orders at the bar and one of the bartenders brought it out to us in the backyard. We sipped on our delicious drinks while rocking on the swinging bench outside. We decided to share the volcano ashes and floating petals cocktails. The volcano ashes was a bit too bitter for my taste - if you're someone who wants very little sweetness in your drink, this is the one for you. The floating petals was much more my style - the mix of floral tastes was lovely and it was on the slightly sweeter end, just how I like it! We decided on two sangrias after that which were nicely spiced and absolutely lovely. As it got colder outside we decided to move to one of their side rooms, which has nice furniture and is a bit more private than the main room. The bartenders were very kind and the drinks were delicious! Definitely check this spot out on your next visit to Fredericksburg.

Overall, 1 of our favorite food stops on this trip! Our order consisted of 1 order of bang bang shrimp, 1 spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, a shared seared salmon dish (not pictured), 1 blackberry margarita (not pictured), & 1 blueberry mule (not pictured). For me, the best part of our order was the bang bang shrimp. If I get to go back I'll just order 2 of those & call it good! The spinach & artichoke appetizer was good, but offered a pretty standard flavor profile. The seared salmon was the best salmon dish I've tasted in a long time, paring nicely with the mashed potatoes & roasted veggies that came with it. Both cocktails were amazing, but my wife said the blackberry margarita was fantastic. The most negative thing about GH was extremely limited indoor seating availability & the lack of reservations, but now you've been warned. It was a short trip for us, but we will be back to GH on our next visit to Fredericksburg for sure.
