This place currently sits at 4 1/2 stars with over 400 reviews which was enough to get us through the door. You should know, this is an intimate space with only eight 4 tops and a dozen seats at the bar and that's all. We got here on a Wednesday happy hour, and the place was almost full, so making a reservation might be in order. The happy hour food and drink specials is most likely the reason why the place was almost packed. The dinner menu takes the prices to the next level. We started off with a couple of $10 martinis and decided on four happy hour menu items. My shrimp Po boy came on a crunchy French baguette and the Seabass was cooked to perfection. No wonder this place was packed. At six on the dot a pianist took the stage and livened up the atmosphere. The happy hour crowd trickled out, and the dinner folks strolled in. We added their bruschetta as the final piece and it was really very fresh. Some notes of interest that others may have missed: 3% credit card fee, no wifi and there's mouthwash for you in the bathroom. We had a really frustrating experience at Martinis in Fredericksburg. We called ahead because it was cold, rainy, and we were traveling with babies. On the phone, they told us they had availability and could accommodate us, no mention of any restrictions or special policies. When we arrived, everything changed. Suddenly, they said they couldn't seat us because our group was "too big." Then we were told that any group of 7+ is automatically forced into a $145 per person prix fixe chef's menu. We had six adults and three babies (babies who obviously are not eating a multi-course tasting menu, they are drinking MILK) and they still tried to apply this policy to us. Not only was this never mentioned on the phone, but it felt completely unreasonable given the makeup of our group. Meanwhile, we were staring at an empty table that was big enough to fit our group. We were fully prepared to spend a significant amount of money there, and instead were turned away over a policy that should have been clearly communicated upfront. If you have strict rules like this, communicate them ahead of time, especially when people call to confirm. Don't tell guests you can accommodate them and then change everything when they arrive. The lack of transparency and flexibility made for a really disappointing experience. Would not recommend, especially for groups or anyone traveling with kids. Don't anticipate this place will be in business long. read more

We've been eyeballing Martini's for a few years (on our semi-annual F'burg trip), and tonight we pulled the trigger. Right off the bat, I had to start with some oysters, and our server, Virginia, gave a great rundown to help me make the right decision. We started out with ceviche as an appetizer, which was really nice. It was just the right blend of tart from the lime and spice from the pico. The cucumber provided a nice texture too. I ordered the crab and shrimp boil. Extra-spicy Cajun. Yeah. This isn't boujee, big-city spicy. No. I forgot we're in Texas. Yeah... it's spicy! But, it tastes great! I'd definitely repeat it! My wife had the ahi tuna, for her dinner and it was cooked perfectly. We finished the night with a wonderful slice of key lime pie. after not getting oysters at Zanzanburg tavern, we went to Martini's happy hour for $1 oysters and $10 martinis. There was a line outside waiting to get in. We sat at the bar and Conner took special care of us. The wife had a cucumber martini and i got a cosmo. Both good. Very small place but great pictures on the wall. Nice bar. The oysters were good and then the wife got a bowl of mussels and clams. The clams were kind of tiny but good. The lady next to us had a delicious looking dish of seabass. Had my birthday dinner at Martini's in Fredericksburg on a Saturday night! They don't take reservations and I forgot to call ahead for the waitlist. When we got there around 7:30ish, they told me it would be a 45-minute wait for a table for 2 but they ended up seating us within 20 minutes. They were very accommodating too when we asked to be seated at a bigger table than where they were originally going to put us. I had a couple of New Old Fashioned drinks and they were delicious! We had the oysters Rockefeller and the bruschetta as appetizers...equally delicious. I ordered the lobster and filet mignon and my boyfriend got the filet. Both came with asparagus and garlic toast. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! We were very happy with our meal! The only thing I wanted looking back, was to have read the menu a little more closely and asked for the sauce on the side. It was rich and detracted from some of the flavors of the lobster and the steak, which didn't need to be hidden by a heavy sauce. Martinis is on the pricier side, but the restaurant ambience is nice, service is very friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent! Give it a visit if you're in Fredericksburg! read more

This quaint little restaurant could easily be on the east coast in Boston or around Martha's Vineyard. It's small inside with a few tables outside as well. There's full service at the bar too, but I would recommend coming early if you don't want to wait. We sat at the bar for a few appetizers and drinks. The service was excellent, the drinks and food were delicious. (The clam chowder was a bit too salty for my preference). I highly recommend this place for the atmosphere and service. First and most wonderful visit to Martini's this evening! Servers were Mia and Cameron, both did a great job! Seated immediately... no reservations accepted, so get there early. Bernie Martini on the piano... nice! We arrived in time for happy hour, so fresh gulf oysters and martinis ruled the first hour! Oysters were delicious, served ice cold. Cosmo and lemon drop martinis had the right balance. Parmesan scallops followed, with garlic bread on the side. A different dish, but delicious! Glad we tried that one! Entrees included the shrimp poor boy and barramundi piccata. Both expertly cooked and served piping hot... A glass of rose and French bubbles made a perfect pairing. We were fortunate to have only a brief wait for a table after being quoted an hour to hour and a half - the text came after only 25 minutes, and the kind hostess laughed and told us she likes to under promise and over deliver. That was just the start of a great evening. Our cocktails were tasty, my husband had the whiskey sour special and I enjoyed a vodka soda after drinking wine all day... The room is bustling and the seafood out on display when you walk by outside. We enjoyed a dozen oysters as well as the crab artichoke dip as starters. Martinis was great. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and by the time we left, the place was full. Don't bring in your drinks from other spots, we accidentally did and they were kind enough to replace it (shhhh!). We ordered the spinach artichoke dip. So good! Make sure you have reservations as this place tends to get busy & limited seating. We started with a fresh Wedge salad which we decided split. Happy Hour was restarted today and again, locals, please don't try and use another promotional discount with another offer. Martini's Jacks, and other businesses offer locals night and happy hour as a appreciation or thank you. May venues do so and make little profits on those items. So please, don't abuse it or take advantage. I know my servers/owners. They do appreciate the community and locals. So remember to tip and tip on the full amount without the discount . Loved this place. It's small, about 10 to 15 tables with a bar top. We had raw and cooked oysters, both were fantastic. The clam and mussel pot was incredibly rich and creamy, much more than we expected but very delicious. Then main courses were subpar. The lobster bisque was very salty and tasted like something out of a can.
