Great Italian dinner after a day of wine drinking! We didn't have a reservation, but were able to put our name in and wait about 20 minutes for a big group on a Saturday night. We lucked out! I had ANOTHER glass of wine at dinner with the shrimp tomato linguine: marinated tomato, basil, parmesan, texas olive oil. We shared a few apps, but the standout was the grilled calamari! Not chewy at all! Loved it. Super lemony! Everyone loved their pasta dishes and our server was very patient and attentive. Definitely would go back!
This restaurant is so cute and the food is amazing. We started with focaccia bread, it was warm and delicious with a salty crust and served with two dipping oils. Hubby got lasagna and added some sausage to it. I got the lobster ravioli. Both dishes were very good. The people next to us got the cesar salad and bruschetta and told it was very good as well. The sale is huge! The only thing that we didn't like was the service was not up to the level for this type or restaurant. We asked about wine and our server couldn't really help us. One of the bartenders came and offered a very good wine recommendation. She ended up taking our food order as well as our server was not as helpful.
We went to Fredericksburg for the weekend for my birthday and I ordered some pizzas Togo from this place to take back to our Airbnb. I was able to order online which was nice. Pizzas were ready when I came to pick them up. We got 4 different ones. They were pretty good. The place was cute and I would go back to try something else. Was a little on the pricey side.
This is undoubtedly the best Italian cuisine in Fredericksburg. The kitchen is large and immaculately maintained. I could see myself eating here numerous times during my next visit. Jenny is an incredible server. She's a keen listener, pays attention to details and has a wonderful personality. I would strongly consider making a reservation as this restaurant can often get quite busy. Just better to have that peace of mind so you're not disappointed at the door. The gelato and shrimp scampi were our favorites but it's worth mentioning the pizza looks incredible as well. The bar provides an extensive list of alcohol and the staff is willing to let you try nearly any bottle of wine to ensure you're satisfied with the flavor profile. We'll definitely be back.
My gf and I went here tonight for a nice dinner. We're from out of town and first time At Fredericksburg and this restaurant got a lot of recommendations. However this is one of the worse experiences we had in forever! Where do I begin? The hostess was super rude to us and we just figured she had a bad day. She was also rude to the guests behind us My gf got the shrimp linguine and I got the carne pizza. Pepperoni, sausage and I added mushrooms and asked for no cheese being lactose intolerant The food was good. Pizza was delicious and crust tasted homemade. We also got meatball appetizers and that was good too. We ate kinda early at 5:30pm so we wanted to take the leftovers back to out Air BNB to have for later. I had 3 slices of pizza left and my gf had half her linguine left. We literally told the waitress we wanted both packaged up to go However when I came back from the restroom only the box for the pizza was available. I asked the waitress is her linguine inside the box and she gave a stupid remark "oh I didn't know you wanted the pasta to go." Then to make matters worse she said "I also accidentally dropped a slice of a pizza on the floor so there's only two in the box". Wtf! Seriously!!! When the waitress realized I was getting pretty upset, she stated "well I didn't think you wanted me to take that slice off the floor and putting it in a box" and begin laughing Out bill was a lot and the manager or no one came by to apologize for the mistake, did not offer us anything, or even taking something off our bill. My gf and I were looking forward to eating our food later on tonight, but now we're left with two lousy slices of pizza The food itself was very good, our meatball appetizer was delicious, she stated her linguine pasta was good, and my pizza was actually very good, the food definitely was overpriced, but atmosphere was decent. However, I'm not sure if this is just this one waitress, but also started with the hostess. The entire vibes and experience was terrible. I will never come back here again if anybody ever ask about Fredericksburg or recommendations for restaurants, I would never recommend this place to anybody they need to get better training for their employees because this was total BS. Do better Alla Campagna.

I'm kinda disappointed. Just not worth the money. The front desk host was cold and kind of awkward. The waitress, Sabrina, was delightful. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and seemed to really care. She recommended the Tuna appetizer which is like a sashimi dish. It was delicious but I'm now concerned about the freshness... if you get what I mean. The Lasagna, I thought was terrible. My date liked it. It was a very large portion. I got the Gnocchi which was to have sausage.. the sauce was good but I think I located maybe a gram of sausage total in the dish. The gnocchi was good and handmade. Just seemed kinda lazily put together and was a very small portion. The dessert was one of a few dishes but they all came with a side of nonsense. I got the least nonsensical dessert which is delicious gelato with fresh blueberries and some balsamic vinegar on top for some ungodly reason. I would have gotten cannolis but I was scared they'd come out with ketchup on them. Idk what the chef is trying to do, but quit it. Just make the pasta, put the meat in the sauce, give the ladies some ice cream and don't be light handed. The service was 5 stars, food was all over the place but has potential, the atmosphere was meh. You'd have more consistency and spend way less for bigger portions and heartier meals going to Olive Garden. Shout out to the focaccia bread. It was good and fresh. I'd recommend this place if you have expendable income, and want some decent appetizers, cocktails and wine. Go get entrees somewhere else. Unfortunate 3748384 other eateries in Fredericksburg specialize in wine, cocktails and appetizers.
I absolutely loved Alla Campagna! Starting with the ambiance of the restaurant itself, the dim lighting and classy decor immediately caught my attention. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped with suggestions for what to get. I tried the ragu and it was a 10/10. The pasta sauce had a rich flavor that paired well with the pork. Checking out this lovely restaurant is absolutely worth the trip!
"Cute, nice, fun- it was very good Italian country food and I thought it was great." - my wife I would be forced to agree with the opinion stated above Alla Campagna, or Italian for "to the countryside" was a delightful wine bar bistro. The ambience was tasteful and approachable like if somebody's grandmother ran a delightful restaurant that you'd actually want to visit. The service was trying their best Seemed pretty understaffed, but everything was fast and they were quite courteous. We had the focaccia which was stupendous, came with some wonderful dipping options after a glass of local red and a sparkling water we were served our main course, the wild boar Ragu what can I say about this? The homemade noodles were a true delight sauce was perfect and light in the bore... Oh, the bore. The tender amazing bore took me to flavor heaven I couldn't get enough. And of course, we saved a slice of focaccia to wipe everything up at the end. If you come across a bad review, you will probably see that it is a somewhat uneducated tasteless patron that's probably just twisted up about it being " too expensive " or that the " service was slow " so dear reader rest assured this is not your friendly neighborhood chilies this is something much much better.
How did I forget to review this place? Alla Campagna has the best Italian food this side of Italy and even then I could argue. It's just as good. We have been there multiple times andlove it! I am a big meat eater, but they're vegetarian dishes get me every time. The eggplant rolatinj, the meatballs, the wild boarPappardelle... All killer!! They make incredible martinis...extra dry and cold baby. Super knowledgeable, staff, exceptionally reasonable wine prices , coolest restaurant environment in town with amazing artwork and vibe. This place is a must!
A wonderful experience!! Jennifer treated us like distinguished guests and the meal was out of this world. Lobster Ravioli and the Braised Akaushi Short Ribs with Whipped Truffle Potatos were top notch!! The cocktails were fabulous!! We never knew strawberry amaro even existed. For dessert we indulged in the Chocolate Cake and Blueberries al Pazzo. A lovely evening was had and Alla Campagna is HIGHLY recommended!
We enjoyed our dinner here! Definitely add to your list to visit! Our waitress was awesome, great conversation and the restaurant atmosphere itself is warm and welcoming. The menu has a great selection from pastas to pizzas, salads, soups! We had the soup of the day which was amazing, the ricotta sausage pizza, caeser salad and the bucatini a la pesto. All were great. Definitely recommend!

We saw the place was a couple blocks away from our place we stayed so we decided to try it. We did not reserve a table. We just walked in. We arrived at 6 to a little populated dining room. We were sat next to the window with the sun shining directly in our faces. The did close the curtains fryer I moved my chair to the side of the two top which was nice. We ordered the Insalata Alla Campana which had zero flavor. We asked if the could split and we were told the kitchen doesn't split plates. I would not recommend! We then ordered the roasted garlic and ricotta cheese meatballs and the Tuscan bean soup. If you go order two bowls of the Tuscan bean soup because it is amazing!1 I forgot our drinks. Hubs ordered the Fortunate Verde which was $17 dollars and very much over priced and a glass of the Rose which was mediocre at best. Our total bill was $80 before tip for appetizers and two drinks. My experience here was OK. I'm actually glad they couldn't accommodate a 6 person reservation on my birthday bc I would have been very disappointed. We made a reservation for 2 on the day before my birthday. Food was OK. My friend liked hers, but they had to modify the gnocchi to make it vegetarian & I really didn't like it. Kudos to them for trying, and the carnivores will probably love it, but my meal was meh and too much $ for what I got. We had a nice high top table with a view of the street & charming architecture. Very nice. Drinks were very good and great atmosphere, but not many choices for non-meat eaters. I didn't want salad. read more

I asked my husband to surprise me for my birthday, I'm usually the one who does all the planning, so I was genuinely impressed when he chose this spot. The moment we walked in, we were taken aback by how beautiful the restaurant was majestic, romantic, and absolutely charming. Our waitress was incredibly kind and made our evening feel even more special. We ordered the lasagna and the pesto chicken, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Came here with some friends after a day of exploring wine country and I have to say this place was alright! The place is very cute and inviting. It is right off the Main Street where all the fun is happening in Fredericksburg. The beer was cold, and the Funghi pizza was fantastic! We had the option to add truffle to the pizza and I'm so glad we did! We also tried the Bistecco di Filetto and I have to say for the price, it wasn't anything too special. The cook I asked for on my steak was not how I wanted it and the steak wasn't seasoned very well. The beef au jus and potatoes were great, but the beef was okay. Glad we went, but next time we will skip it and try one of the other joints in the area. If you love pizza I highly recommend Alla Campagna. read more

A very nice restaurant. My friends and I came here and our server Joshua was great! Helped us with our confusing order, patient and kind. Food tasted great although I feel the portions were small. Maybe it was too delicious to stop, hahah. Anyways, we came in a large group and were informed they could only split checks up to 4. Despite the confusing orders, everything came out fine, a little slow maybe cause it was busy. Still, I highly recommend coming here as it's a really nice restaurant with a lovely ambiance and rich food. read more

We tried a new restaurant for us in Fredericksburg on our last visit which I definitely would recommend. Don't let the 4 stars scare you away because it was still a wonderful dinner spot. We went on a Thursday night which made everything easier to get in without a reservation. There appeared to be some confusion from the stand staff as to whether or not there was going to be unavailable table. It took a while for someone to notice us at the stand, and the first person wasn't as receptive about getting a seated. A new person came and quickly found us a spot. The decor of the restaurant is captivating with different pieces of art and textures. There is an outdoor seating area in the back that does have heating lamps, but not as cozy as inside seating. There also is a really cool room. You can reserve that I will include a photo of.Our waiter seemed very informed about the restaurant and a great job, offering his favorites during all courses. Since it was a girls weekend, we opted for just appetizer and dinner. We shared the roasted heirloom, cherry tomato Burrata with focaccia. This was the highlight of the dinner. The bread was unbelievably good in flavor and texture. Between us we ordered main courses Lasagna Alla Campagna (tasty but average-a little over seasoned), Chicken Funghi Risotto ( very good especially the risotto). Wild Boar Ragu (unique and yummy per my friend) and our fourth friend had dietary restrictions which limited her selection to an off menu gluten free pasta resulting in her dish taking a little longer to come out. We had house wine with dinner so didn't get a chance to try any of the signature cocktails but included pic of drink menu. Give it a try especially the focaccia! read more
Such a great spot for Italian food!! Super cute and aesthetic. We were originally seated inside, but we wanted to sit outside. Our server was very accommodating to our request and led us right out to their patio. They provided two fly fans for the table, which kept the flies away from the food up until we got the main entrees. I wasn't expecting there to be so many flies, but I wasn't going to let that ruin my experience here. For starters, we got the focaccia and carpaccio. The focaccia blew me away. It wasn't like the ordinary focaccia I've had before- the texture reminded me of sourdough bread. The outside was crispy and firm, and the inside was buttery, soft, and warm. The salt sprinkled on top complemented the sweet tomatoes well. Dipped the bread into the olive oil with each bite, and it was absolute perfection. The carpaccio had such a great combination of flavors, from the saltiness of the capers to the refreshing arugula and citrus taste of the lemon. The thinly sliced beef had the consistency of smoked salmon, just without the fishiness. Diving into the pasta, my friends and I ordered the following: pappardelle, linguine Nero, capunti, & funghi ravioli. Out of all the pasta we ate, the pappardelle was a fan favorite. Bold and creamy. Long, wide noodles. What more could you ask for? The funghi ravioli was good, except it was very juicy and watery from the mushrooms... and because of this, I felt like the flavor was washed out and subtle. The capunti was okay. Portion was a lot smaller than expected. Pasta was thick and chewy. Flavors weren't giving. For dessert we shared a tiramisu. Reminded me of the tiramisu from Whole Foods, which is one of the best. The tiramisu was very light, fluffy, and airy. Espresso isn't overpowering, and the mascarpone is delightful. Service was phenomenal. Our waiter was extremely kind and helpful. He took really good care of us! We parked in front of one of the businesses nearby. We came at a later time in the evening so parking wasn't an issue at all. read more

This is our second time here and it has never disappointed! We love the ambiance of the place. From the collection of paintings inside and the chandiliar creates a unique environment. The service has always been quick, friendly and kind. They take the time to explain the menu and I never felt rushed to order or finish my meal. This is by far our favorite pasta place in fredricksburg! We think about the pasta for days! read more

We had dinner at Alla Campagna on New Years Eve a couple of weeks ago, and it was a nice place for a fancy-ish dinner in Fredericksburg! Its menu is inspired by the Italian countryside, but the restaurant interior and service is all Central Texas. The building is beautiful and has lots of charm. The classic Hill Country limestone walls, paintings, wood floors, and old-fashioned bar all added up to make the restaurant incredibly homey and charming. The food overall was good! We started with the Alla Campagna Salad (greens, toasted walnuts, Lira Rosa moultonzola, shaved vegetables, balsamic vinaigrette), which was fine - light, but not memorable. We had two pastas - the Ragu Papardelle with wild boar ragu and the Agnolotti in Brodo (stuffed with ricotta served in a prosciutto and parmigiano broth). I thought the papardelle was solid (definitely a comfort food dish), but I thought the agnolotti was stellar (a standout dish). We also shared a couple of sides (the cannellini beans with mirepoix and parmigiano reggiano and the charred broccolini with lemon and olive oil) and an almond lemon cake for dessert. We enjoyed our cocktails, wine, and limoncello as well. The service was good (there was a slight wait for our table, but they seemed a little overwhelmed by NYE when we arrived but definitely recovered throughout the evening). Overall, it was a lovely and delicious dinner - one I'd be happy to repeat when next in Fredericksburg. read more

Food was great, very cute restaurant with plenty of space and good vibes. It did get a bit cold sitting in the corner, but the waitress offered a blanket which was a nice touch. We had the lobster ravioli, lasagna, and burrata all of which were great! The lasagna is huge, can easily be split between two people. read more

Not impressed at all. The front desk service was cold and inattentive -- not the kind of welcome you expect when you're paying top dollar. The food? Way overpriced for what you get. Options are very less as well in the menu. Save your money and go elsewhere. Service at the front desk was unwelcoming and not helpful. The food was okay, but the pricing felt way too steep for the quality and portions. I don't think I'll be coming back. I will recommend to All NOT go there read more

Ehh, server forgot our pizza, they rushed it after that so it was very doughy. Severs were overwhelmed. Being the best restaurant on the strip you'd expect a little better service to match the food and ambiance. Went for a birthday and was never made to feel special. read more
