We have given up trying to find hot food and good service at home, it's one or the other but Bella Sera provided both. We had a wonderful attentive waitress and our food must have come directly from the oven to our table it was so hot. Not my usual choice I tried the veal Parm, delicious! As stated and pictured, pizza is oftentimes bordering on inedible. This isn't the first time the pizza has been this way, but it is the last time we were going to be accepting the excuses. Pizza with a crisp crust is fine, but tasting the burnt taste is not. Having a rude employee and dismissing the quality as not knowing how pizza should be made is also not ok. I grew up in NY and my wife grew up in NJ, we are both extremely familiar with Pizza parlors and the different types of Pizza. When Bella Sera makes the pizza correctly, it is great, no doubt. This is the closest thing I can find to actual New York/New Jersey Pizza in Texas. I haven't covered the whole state yet of course, but as far as KERRVILLE goes, this is the one to get. First bite of the cheese pizza took me right back to the boardwalk in Wildwood. It's that good. I never load up my pizza with a bunch of veggies, so it's plain cheese for me, and this one turned out to be the best I've ever had in this area. Did a take-out dinner meal and the front did a good job taking my order and making sure everything came out correctly. I went with the Pasta Fagioli Soup and Tortellini Alla Vodka with a side salad. I started the meal with the salad and the Tortellini Alla Vodka...good salad everything crisp and fresh and the Tortellini Alla Vodka was good. The Tortellini was perfectly cooked and the sauce was good, but not really an Alla Vodka sauce versus a "pink" sauce. Sadly...the Pasta Fagioli Soup was not good and it was tossed after one spoonful. Our party had the meat lasagna, the eggplant parmigiana and a Calzone. Chicken soup and Caesar salad were great. The garlic bread is to die for (if you are a bread lover). We had to request "fill 'er up again" on the bread basket. Your food is hot to the very last bite. All the food was well cooked and flavorful. Great tomato sauce on the hot plates and accompanying the calzone. If you like the mix of marinara sauce and white sauce (aka pink sauce), then you need to try their Alla Panna sauce. My friends have dined here many times so we decided to enjoy a nice meal in this highly recommended Italian restaurant. There was no wait although it got a bit busier as the evening progressed. I had difficulty getting interior photos trying to avoid the diners so I apologize for the poor photos. The interior is separated into several smaller dining areas. My friend picked up the tab which was on the higher end as they enjoyed a large antipasto and sides, as well as a beer in addition to their meals. I chose the children's spaghetti with meatballs. The waitress forgot the meatballs and brought me 4 medium sized meatballs on the side. The pasta was a very thin almost angel hair pasta. The sauce was tasty. I don't recall the dishes my friends selected but I did get photos. The complimentary garlic herb rolls were warm and soft and filling. I devoured one and regretted it trying to eat my spaghetti portion a short time later. In fairness I can only judge my small portion, the service and the decor. All of those 3 aspects were good, not out of this world fantastic but my friends who are more frequent patrons truly love the food. So my 4 stars is mostly based on their experiences and enthusiasm. read more

We ordered plain cheese - the ultimate test of a good pizza with no toppings to hide behind. Great crust, good cheese, excellent sauce. Beware the garlic knots. Good wine list (get with the program and order Chianti), really good citrusy house salad dressing (get Nick's dressing - olive oil, lemon and garlic). Skip the chicken soup - surprisingly bland although obviously housemade. The veal Siciliana is what veal piccata dreams it might grow up to be. Take a lemony veal piccata and add artichoke hearts and mushrooms. Plop it on a bed of angel hair pasta. Hedonistically eat and enjoy. The shrimp Fra Diavolo has beautifully cooked shrimp in a spicy yet nuanced sauce. FYI garlic lovers required. Great service from Sam. Very professional and also very charming. Servings are generous. Seven years ago my wife and I ate here while on our way to Arizona and we loved it. As we are on our way to Big Bend NP we decided to stop for lodging and a meal. We were glad to see Bella Sera survived COVID and is still serving excellent Italian cuisine. Their food remains excellent, the menu is extensive, the waitstaff are courteous and the owners (now five, up from the original two) are courteous and obviously take pride in their establishment. Hope it's not another seven years before my next visit, but if it is, be assured this is where I'll be having dinner. read more

Good wasn't all that great. Dessert was dry. The lady that checked me out had her kids there at work, which came running from the kitchen area and the little one tried to run out the front door while I was trying to pick up my order. I'm fine with people having to take their kids to work with them, but keep them under control. Really good food in a dining room that is well-decorated. Our server was friendly and answered all questions about the menu. We had a bottle of wine with dinner from a pretty nice wine list with many choices. The food menu also offered a really nice variety of choices. The salads were fresh and the dressings good. Both of our meals had a nice presentation, and my veal marsala was light and delicious. It was a relaxing, enjoyable meal in a nice setting with friendly service. Well worth another trip! read more

I was basically wanting steak, but another restaurant basically refused me because I was dressed in hiking gear. I am glad they did. This restaurant was absolutely spectacular!
