This was a nice spot for brunch.. we sat outside and it made for a nice relaxing morning. Food was really good. My friends were so impressed by the breakfast potatoes, they were delicious.

Cute cafe with more of a diner feel inside, but they have a big outdoor patio with plenty of seating. The menu has plenty of options, making it so hard to choose from because everything sounds so good. I got the yogurt and granola bowl, wow it was really fresh and a pretty big portion. My mom ordered the TBLTA and she really liked it, plus the vinaigrette on her salad was so good! Highly recommend giving this place a try.

We kicked off our bachelorette trip with brunch at Sunset Grill, and while it didn't blow us away, it was a solid start to a fun weekend! First, the vibes: the restaurant is cozy and charming -- exactly the kind of spot you'd want for a relaxed girls' brunch. Our waitress was sweet, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. Now, the food was a bit of a mixed bag. The bacon? Absolutely on point -- crispy, savory, no notes. And the Mexican coffee was a delightful surprise -- rich, flavorful, and the perfect way to ease into the morning. The French toast had a great foundation, but I was hoping for more of a true banana foster experience -- caramelized, charred bananas with a glossy glaze. Instead, the bananas came as-is, which felt like a missed opportunity to really elevate the dish. A little time in the pan would go a long way! The breakfast potatoes were the low point -- they came out a little overcooked and underseasoned, which is an easy fix but made them hard to get excited about. Overall, Sunset Grill has a lot of charm and the service was genuinely warm.

Loved it! It's been a number of years since our last visit. At that time, they were in a different location. This location is SO much better. Lots of seating - indoors and outdoors. Dog friendly outdoors too. The service - wow. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Our server, Maria A was amazing. We arrived about 9:30 AM on a Monday morning. Being a holiday, Presidents' Day, it was quite busy. I thought we'd have to wait quite a while but surprisingly there were some open tables inside. Being a nice sunny morning a lot of the outdoor seating was pretty full. Our party of four was seated quickly. Water came, followed quickly by coffee. Someone was always making the rounds with the coffee pot. That was nice. My wife and I shared a breakfast as follows: - California omelette with sourdough toast - Single pancake with blueberries I'd say the omelette was decent. Four out of five. It had good flavor. The way they make them here is slightly dry, but still decent. Next time I'll ask for mine to be less dry on the outside. The pancake was really good. Nice and fluffy and flavorful. We're so happy we returned to Sunset Grill for breakfast this year and we look forward to eating there on our next visit to Fredericksburg.

This became our go to brunch spot when we are in Fredricksburg. We were seated immediately because they have a ton of tables, which is a huge plus in this town. We sat on the dog-friendly patio and the service was incredibly quick. The food was 10/10--everything tasted so fresh. I highly recommend the Señorita Omelette (it's loaded with veggies and super flavorful) and the Avocado Toast, which was absolute fire. Don't skip the fresh-squeezed juices! Plus, plenty of parking out front made the whole experience stress-free.

My wife & I spent 3 days in Fredericksburg for our anniversary & hit up Sunset Grill for brunch one day. I'm a big fan of eggs benedict, so I tried Sunset's "sunsetter benedict" & was not disappointed. The surprise of the dish was the house-made country potatoes that came as a side. They were crisped up just right with the perfect amount of salt & pepper for a simple seasoning. It may be hard to tell from the photos, but the Sunsetter is bigger than most other eggs benedict platters I've had. Many places use English muffins that I'd say are baseball sized, but these were more like softball sized. My wife enjoyed her eggs & bacon platter as well, with 3 strips of thick cut applewood smoked bacon & the same country potatoes. All in all I'd go back to Sunset Grill in a heartbeat on my next visit to Fredericksburg. It's a great food spot with great service IMO!

Such a delicious brunch spot! Very busy but worth the wait. Efficient and very nice server. The menu is well rounded and quality. Casual and bright interior with outside seating. My Josephine was a perfect amount of savory & sweet with a fried egg, ham, biscuit, and the best fig jam! Coffee was dark roast and delicious. There is a nice menu of hot and cold coffee drink options also. A total local gem.

The food was absolutely superb; simple, fresh ingredients executed to perfection. The margarita was excellent. It was well-balanced, smooth, and neither too sweet nor too strong. The service was prompt, polite, and professional, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. We sat outside and it was so nice with the breeze and the shade.

Family ate here before going on our Enchanted Rock adventure. I could have stayed just to try all of their different coffee options alone! The space is smaller than what we are used to, but it's not bad. We appreciated how clean and bright everything was. Next time we will try out the patio seating- it looked so inviting even with the heaters but we sat inside this time.

Come with time to spare because this place is always packed - and that should tell you everything! We initially asked about the wait time and were told 45 minutes. We were starving and considered going somewhere else, but decided to give it a try. We ended up waiting a bit longer than expected, but it was absolutely worth it! The food was delicious - we ordered burgers and they were amazing. Despite how busy and chaotic it was with the crowd, our server was super attentive and friendly throughout our meal. I love that the food was on point and fresh, and the staff remained so pleasant even during the rush. Definitely recommend, just plan ahead for the wait or avoid weekends!

    Carlsbad
    David R.

The ratings suggested that this would be a great way to end our weekend in Fredericksburg. The predicted 15 minute wait turned out to only be 10, so off to a good start. The 'bennies' all looked interesting, and we ended up with 2 Josephine and 1 Carlsbad. The orders came out quickly. The eggs were all done well (not "well done"), perfectly runny. One of Josephines was good, although it could have used more brie. The other Josephine was not even hot. Our guess is that because the place is so busy, they queue up some of the popular orders and then they're ready to go. We should have sent it back. The Carlsbad was a unique (to me) take, and the crab cake itself was good. The combination was interesting but didn't become exceptional until I used the lemon that came with my tea to add a little acid to the dish. (I suggested to the server that this would be a great addition to the standard plating.) If we return, we'll be a bit bolder with possible returns.

Kailey our waitress was phenomenal such amazing energy. So welcoming and personable. We stopped in town and had to try this place for brunch. I ordered the Bourbon street Benedict 9/10 enjoyed the Louisiana flavors and it had a decent amount of shrimp. Wish there was more hollandaise sauce Friends ordered: Banana pecan pancakes 8.5/10 pancakes were soft but wish they were more fluffy French toast 6/10 it was just French toast nothing special about it Avocado toast 10/10 it was fresh and light and nice balance of ingredients. Drinks: Mangorita so refreshing and nice balance of sweetness The sunset was underwhelming! Strong champagne if youre a champagne person yet the blueberry and pomegranate didnt really shine. I thought by the name it would be a pretty drink. This is a cute place that offers farm to table. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating options with friendly welcoming staff and a good variety of food options. A must try for this quaint town

Egg & Bacon (potatoes & toast included). Just look at those golden yolks.

American bistro with a lively menu. The restaurant is light & airy. Patio available. Service is quick and friendly. I love the water carafe at the table, very convenient. I had the classic Egg & Bacon Breakfast, and the sunny-side up was picture-perfect. Bacon was thick and crisp---4 pieces so I had to share! The potatoes were just like Gramma made in her cast iron skillet. Don't get me started on the sourdough toast. My partner chose the Lumberjack Omelette--it arrived as advertised with 'all the meats': bacon, sausage, ham, chorizo. He lapped it up, before accepting my extra bacon. Yes, he suffered the meat sweats later but insists10/10 he'd do it again. Even though the place was packed, the service was very attentive. We will definitely return when in the area. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

We ordered blue cheese with the wings and got ranch. Our celery was probably previously frozen as we could bend it together and touch each end without it breaking! Told the server about this when we asked for new sauces. He replied, sorry... he took the two unopened sauces and brought two blue cheese out. Not replacing the third. I know it's petty, but I did not realize that my water would come in a bottle, with no ice. I asked for ice he brought it out. I also asked if there was a charge for the bottle of water. He said yes. It would've been nice to know that before I ordered. When the dish arrived, however, the steak was clearly overcooked and closer to well done than medium-rare. When we raised the concern, the waiter claimed she had told us the meat would come out anywhere from medium-rare to well done due to how it sits in the warmer, and then suggested we must have misunderstood her initial explanation. This contradiction was frustrating and unprofessional, especially as it felt like our concern was being dismissed rather than addressed. Both the waiter and manager insisted the steak was cooked correctly, despite it clearly not being medium-rare. After we sent it back, they replaced it with a filet that was prepared properly. They did remove the original entrée from the bill, but then charged us for the filet at cost. Given the situation, it would have been more appropriate to simply substitute the filet at the original menu price. Unfortunately, my meal was also very underwhelming. The fish lacked flavor and was not enjoyable. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for a special anniversary dinner. I will say -- the hummus plate was delightful. Light and great flavor for an appetizer. The drinks were also very good too.

Unfortunately, this experience felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a dress rehearsal no one stopped. First problem: location confusion. We went to what turned out to be their second spot--which, crucially, was not called Nurys on the sign. Same ownership, new space, old identity crisis. Walking in felt like entering a building that hadn't yet decided what it wanted to be when it grew up. The lingering aroma? A strange duet of fish, antiseptic, and industrial cleaning agents. Not hunger-inducing. More "urgent care with a fryer." There was no one there, which made sense--it was between brunch and lunch--but somehow the wait for food felt disproportionately long for what arrived. What arrived, sadly, was mediocrity wearing a Tex-Mex costume. They seemed to be aiming for Tex-Mex but landed somewhere closer to Tex-Flex--stretching flavors thin until they snapped. The barbacoa was fatty in a way that suggested less "slow-cooked tradition" and more "glistening regret." It didn't taste authentic, or even especially intentional. Just heavy. The guacamole--perhaps the most unforgivable offense--was bad. Guacamole is avocados, salt, lime, and love. That's it. This had none of the above. The waitstaff wasn't rude, exactly--just possessed by the clear energy of people who would prefer you to finish quickly so they could resume their real lives. Hospitality should feel like an invitation, not a countdown. Now, maybe the original Nurys is wonderful. I hope it is. But if that's the case, why open a second location only to phone it in? Expansion should mean excellence multiplied, not care divided. There are too many good places in Fredericksburg doing things right to settle for something half-hearted. This one wasn't terrible--it was worse. It was forgettable. And that's the real disappointment.

Found this place, looked at the menu and checked it out. The place is very rustic, lots of wood and western-themed. We were asked if we wanted to sit outside or by the bar but I wanted somewhere quiet so we sat in the dining room off the main entrance. Lots of light flood thru. A musician was setting up outside but it was still a little chilly for me. We were the 2nd couple who was in this dining room as most were in the bar area. I passed by on my way to the bathroom and it was open towards the back deck so it had a nice vibe with college football playing on the screens. We were greeted by the waitress and ordered drinks--iced tea and Diet Pepsi while perusing the menu. We both ordered the Pastrami Reuben which came with a side. I chose the Warm Potato Salad to try it out and hubs got the Sauerkraut which was surprisingly warm and fresh. The waitress said "You've never had warm Sauerkraut??" And we hadn't! She also said if I didn't like the Warm Potato Salad, she'd give me something else. Our sandwiches came shortly thereafter and I'd say they were great! The meat was juicy and tender and a good portion, the rye bread wasn't too thick which was nice and just a little Swiss cheese was added and some Sauerkraut. I took some of my hubs' Sauerkraut to add a little more to 1/2 of my sandwich. He loved it and ate all the Sauerkraut with joy. I tasted my Warm Potato Salad which is a German style and the first 2 bites were okay. Then it got too vinegary for me so I just ate the bacon bits and just another bite of potatoes. Social House -- Breakfast Done Right (Just... Very Close Together)…read more Social House is the kind of breakfast place that reminds you why brunch became a lifestyle in the first place. The food is genuinely good--thoughtful, fresh, and clearly made by people who care about flavor and your well-being. This is "healthy but not sad" breakfast, the kind that lets you feel virtuous without punishing you for it. The menu is strong across the board. Everything tastes intentional, balanced, and well-executed. You can tell someone in the kitchen understands restraint, texture, and the delicate art of making vegetables feel like a reward. Is it slightly overpriced? Yes. But it's the kind of overpriced you accept with a nod, because the plate in front of you earns most of it. The place is busy--very busy--but that's just life when a restaurant does things well. People show up. The issue isn't the crowd; it's the compression. Social House packs people in like a breakfast Tetris game. Tables are close enough that you accidentally learn about strangers' weekend plans, dietary restrictions, and relationship problems. It's communal in a way no one asked for. And that's really the only thing holding it back from five-star territory. The experience never quite gets to breathe. The food wants you to linger. The room says, "Eat joyfully, but quickly." Still, the staff handles the chaos with professionalism and grace, and the overall vibe remains warm and welcoming despite the controlled madness. This is a place that knows what it is: a popular, well-run, genuinely good breakfast spot that feeds a lot of people very well. Bottom line: if you want a healthy, tasty, reliably excellent breakfast and don't mind sharing oxygen with half of Austin, Social House delivers. Give me two fewer tables and I'd never stop going--but even as is, it's absolutely worth the visit.

So great to see they treat both locals and new guys with the same kindness and respect. When I asked if there was a jukebox by chance the guy (I believe Skylar) said "No but what do you want to hear?" I asked for some Stevie Nicks and he said no problem. I didn't expect any of that and was overjoyed to hear some Stevie over the speakers. What cool people here! The patrons at the front gave me recommendations on good spots and were very welcoming. I ended up with a Spicy Italian. This one had a nice kick but not overpowering and a generous size along with some coleslaw and a pickle. I couldn't quite finish it all. I'm kicking myself for forgetting my left overs. Oh well, that's a great excuse to go back and enjoy this awesome food/vibe all over again.
