I found this place while walking home from an event at CHS field. I spotted a sign down an alley and thought "man I have to try that little hidden spot." Really wanted to like this place. Nice location and ambiance. This is specifically talking about lunch. Looks like it could be an OK evening cocktail place with more of a hot food menu. I got a roast beef sandwich and cappuccino. My wife got a BLT & mocha. Both sandwiches were disappointing. Meager portions on cheap store bread. My roast beef sandwich was supposed to have some blue cheese which I didn't taste until 2/3 the way through the sandwich. The BLT had just a couple slices of bacon and the toast was soggy when it came to the table. Both resembled sandwiches I have purchased at convenience stores for pure appetite appeasement. The espresso in the cappuccino was rather bitter (I used to be a barista), maybe it sat a while before making the drink. The mocha tasted like it was made with Swiss Miss or the generic blander equivalent. No particular complaints about the service, which was fine and fairly quick. I ordered food on Christmas Day because their business was "open" or so it seemed online. I'm not in the area often and we ended up at urgent care nearby and needed food quick. I've called six times since then. I paid for food via their online service and the order was never completed because they were indeed not open on Christmas. I have yet to receive a refund; I'm probably never going to. I'll also probably not visit because this is just poor business management, now. Why did I wait 20 mins for a pick-up order for a hot chocolate? 1. No communication or signage - period. You arrive to a long line of people. Any attempt to talk to the staff why they are serving others gets you weird stares and short answers. There are no signs for "pick up here" or "please wait to be seated". You just have to guess! Because screw you! You're the idiot that chose to eat here! 2. No direction from either the website, receipt, or again, the very unwelcoming staff that are also very busy and have absolutely no time to answer questions. 3. When I finally get to the cash register, the lady tells me "oh yeah, your hot chocolate has been ready for a while. I can warm it up if you want me to". As if I'm suppose to know that my hot chocolate was ready? As if after handing me the drink, I was suppose to give it right back to have it warmed up? Like... in a microwave? Or do I have to wait another 20 mins. for you to make me a new one? Horrid, horrid service for subpar food and drinks. This location is not accessible. It is not communal. And it's clear management does not care about your experience in their business. Go to Lowertown Bike shop or Legacy chocolates or save your money for a better coffee. read more

We stopped by here on the way back to Omaha. We had to wait a little while due to it being busy. There is a reason why they were busy. The food was excellent. I had the lox bagel and the wife had a biscuit, sausage and egg sandwich. Be warned the biscuit was yummy and huge, not for someone watching your carbs. I also would recommend the nitro sweet cream ice coffee. We will definitely be returning when we are back in town for hockey. read more

Another fabulous night at Lost Fox. This tucked away, pseudo hidden gem is such a fabulous addition to lowertown. The space is warm and inviting, without being overwhelming. The staff is fabulous. And the food is right on Had a lovely cheese plate and a burger with a friend tonight. We enjoyed every bite and loved the interactions with the team. My partner and I were very excited to check this place out and so wanted to like it. We were looking for a spot to get food and coffee while we worked; Lost Fox looked like the perfect spot. Decor and ambiance are lovely, totally up my alley and just so chill and beautiful. A+ there. Food and drinks were disappointing. I got a lox bagel sandwich, which had one thin slice of salmon that didn't even cover the entirety of the sandwich. There was also a toothpick down the middle of the sandwich, in the hole of the bagel, so that gave us a good giggle. For my drink, I ordered a "Vietnamese coffee." I don't think they know what that actually is and just called it that to make their menu look more hip or something. It was basically just strong black coffee, no sweetness at all. I think they know it's not right because they told us to let them know if we wanted more condensed milk as they handed it over. I tried a sip and it was just bitterness, so I went back to ask for said condensed milk. She was very nice about it but put in just a small drizzle, and I felt too awkward to ask for more so I just went back to my seat. My partner saw I wasn't drinking it, had a sip himself, then went up to ask for more on my behalf. For the amount a correct Vietnamese coffee would have, they charged us extra. We also accidentally left our two water bottles there, so I called the next day to see if they were found. My bottle was behind the counter, as one would expect, but they didn't know where his was. No biggie, he probably lost it somewhere else. I stopped by to pick up mine, and saw that his was by our table (on the floor beneath the table and chairs) exactly where we left it. For more than 24 hours, no one noticed it? No one swept up or sat there? Even though my bottle was seen and moved? Weird. Not really sure what to think about that one. Last but not least, my partner experienced some attitude from the staff while we were there. If our experience had just one, maybe two these of things, I would chalk it up to a bad day and try again. But altogether, no thank you. read more

This up and coming coffee cafe checks all the boxes: good drinks, good prices, good vibes, good people, and my cake snack was tasty, too. The plants, brick walls, lighting and furniture give Lost Fox a comfortable, cozy and clean ambiance. I enjoyed my afternoon herbal tea made "snuggler" style (with steamed milk and honey). The added steamed milk helped compliment my chocolate cake. It is worth mentioning the cake itself was good, just the right size and at $3.50 for a slice it's easy to say yes and not regret it. My daughter and I went to Lost Fox today, I was excited for her to see this place as the ambiance is amazing and right up her alley. The almond croissant I had was excellent, she had a BLT and it was your very basic BLT. The very disappointing part was the girl at the coffee counter. While giving our order she was as cold as could be, no eye contact, no smile, no 'thank you.' She clearly wanted to be somewhere else and not helping customers.
