Hands down the best taco shop north of the 56, and a solid top 10 contender for all of San Diego county. I can't believe I have worked in Carlsbad for 6 years and visited here for the first time this year. The hubs and I were on our way home after seeing a show downtown and had to have some carne Asada fries. Good ole trusty yelp to the rescue. We got to Los tacos and were immediately overwhelmed by the menu. Literally every item looked delicious. We got the carne asada or grande fries, a quesadilla and because our eyes are bigger than our stomachs the shrimp diabla burrito. The grande fries were carne asada perfection! The carne asada was so juicy and flavorful. No hint of grey, dry meat here (you all know what I'm talking about). The fries were generously topped with carne asad, guacamole, sour cream and pico (no beans for me!) Since I was between two burritos we let the cashier decide and he chose the shrimp diabla and I'm so happy he did because it was ridiculously good! He warned me it would be spicy because of the chipotle cream and he was right! It was such a good spicy though and I love how the burrito was packed with shrimp. Every bite had shrimp deliciousness. Lastly the quesadilla. I love when a tortilla is so good all you want to do is smell its awesomeness. I'm sure people were staring at me as I was inhaling (literally) the quesadilla. The tortilla was fresh and filled with goey, fatty cheese just how I like it. Not sure if you can tell from the photos but the portions were huge! Three stars for your food: rather dry, somewhat tough carne asada, fairly good pollo and average for everything else. One star for your jerk of an employee, whom other people also seem to be complaining about, for calling my 75-year-old, elderly mother "stupid" when she was having difficulty in ordering, because he doesn't think that two non-Hispanic-looking women can speak or understand Spanish. This is California, dude... and I understood you perfectly. All of the (male) employees we encountered just didn't want to be there. Ate here yesterday for the first time and will come here again when I'm in town. The owner gave us a run down about which tacos are really good. I had Al pastor tacos which where perfect, the carnitas crispy and flavorful plus the tripas tacos also where spot on. My wife loved the shrimp tacos and my son the quesadillas. Yum! Not a. Big fan of San Diego county, I don't go there often and really don't expect much but I had to go to Oceanside to pick something up from Best Buy and got hungry on my way out of town. The guacamole can be on the runny side, it's good but not chunky and not the family favorite. When the chips come out hot, they are quite good! Extremely expensive for what you get. Rude service every time I have come here. The food itself is actually pretty decent, especially as compared to their sister restaurant, Grubbys. The "decent" food does not outweigh the lack of service or the prices. Oh yeah, the floors are super greasy, and tables were not cleared in between guests. So you can sit down to a table full of someone else's spilled food. $10 for a standard California burrito? Kids quesadilla meal says it comes with a 16oz drink. Those are, of course very good here too, but not enough people know about adobada, and I do Not recommend it at just Any taco stand. There has to be talent in the kitchen, like at Los Tacos, Grubbys, or Los Juniors. Those 3 places have proper adobada. I didn't know this place existed until one of my friends pointed it out to me. There's a lot on the menu and it seems like their specialties are their tacos; however, I decided to opt for the original breakfast burrito. Price & Food: For 7.50, this burrito was worth the price. It tasted better than the breakfast burritos I usually had and on top of that, it was the size of a mini child! Everything on the menu is decently priced for what you get, and it seemed to fill all of us up at the end of the day. Atmosphere & Seating: It's pretty empty around 5pm on a Monday, and the place is bigger than I expected from just looking at the building from the outside. There's not that much seating, probably due to most orders being to go. Customer Service: The guy at the register was nice, however, he didn't pay attention to what I was paying him with. I only paid for a burrito with a $20 bill, but he automatically assumed it was a $10 bill as reflected in my receipt and only gave me $1.80 back instead of $11.80. I knew the burrito wasn't expensive so later on, I had to come back and tell him that I paid with a $20. He did count the register and gave me the $10 I was missing, but if I didn't catch that, then I would have been out $10. For this reason, I deducted a star from this review. read more

Just ordered dinner for 3. 2 carne asada burritos and a gordita, simple right... Meat had no flavor and tasted old. I don't know why they have to chop it up like ground beef, so nasty. I ordered a burrito with no onion and the size difference was crazy they rely too much on the fillers then the actual main part of the burrito. I felt like I was eating a bad guacamole burrito with a little bit of ground beef asada. Everyone was disappointed in their food tonight. Everyone was complaining as they were eating. read more
