Cute decorations

From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel like a regular. I mentioned it was my first time, and they were quick to offer friendly, thoughtful menu suggestions--which I always appreciate. They also let me know about their happy hour, their Taco Tuesday deal ($2.50 each), and that they have menudo and pesole on the weekends. I ended up going with the taco plate, all carne asada, and wow... these tacos were loaded with juicy, flavorful meat. No skimping here! I also grabbed chips and salsa on the side, and let me just say--homemade chips and tortillas make all the difference. Crisp, warm, and absolutely addicting. The salsa wasn't my absolute favorite, but you could tell it was fresh. The space is super inviting with plenty of indoor seating and big windows that make it perfect for people-watching. There's even a cozy little bar area if you're just dropping in for a quick drink and bite. Such a solid neighborhood taco spot--casual, welcoming, and downright delicious. I'll definitely be back!

Bland food. Beans are bland, almost bitter. Meats are bland, even the birria. You can't differentiate birria with carnitas because either they didn't actually give me carnitas or they just can't cook carnitas properly. No consomme in the birria. Very disappointing. Tortilla is as thick as carpet.asked for corn tortilla but i dont know what in the world they gave me. The only thing worth eating is the rice. Has a bit of flavor, at least. My husband likes his burrito though.

Horchata

I was craving sopes and decided to try Los Taco Chefs. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and given a menu. We ordered, what is probably the best horchata I've ever had. This horchata was different than ones I've had before. It had tiny pieces of apples which I believe made it taste amazing and unique. Everything is made to order. I ordered the sopes plate, which was really good. The beans were a little bland for my taste, but everything else was delicious. My son ordered the green chilaquiles. I had a little taste and the sauce was so flavorful. The customer service was great. I would definitely recommend this place. I will be back for sure to have some horchata and try the chilaquiles.

Visited this place on a Sunday and was so Impressed! From the moment you step in you can feel the authentic Mexican vibes (I'm Hispanic Trust me) , I ordered the Red Menudo and Green Chicken Chilaquiles. They were both DELICIOUSSSS. Spices such as Oregano and Red Pepper are provided to enhance the taste of the menudo along with Onion and Cilantro. Makes it SOO good, Chilaquiles were delicious definitely great for breakfast. We ordered a lemonade and the daily special drink which was Mango flavored and loved it. I 100% will be returning and if your looking for a great Mexican food spot this is it

Ya know what, I could probably eat tacos and bean & cheese burritos every night for the rest of my life and be super happy with all my life decisions. They make everything better. I wanted to try a new spot and Los Taco Chefs has been on my "To Taste List" for a bit. I definitely should have hit this a long time ago, it's great! If you're dinning in, you take a table and they come out and get your order. I got a bean and cheese burrito, chicken taco and a Al Pastor taco along with chips and salsa. The bean to cheese ratio was perfect and the consistency was to my liking. The corn tortillas for the tacos are made fresh and delicious! The salsas were...ugh....good gawd the favor was sooo incredible! They could have been hotter for sure, but still, I drank both of them! My friend got the chilaquiles with a medium horchata and love them. On a scale of 1 - 10....I'll take it on a second date...might move in next week...we can get a dog, we can name it "Tamale"

Fiesta salad
Candice S.

The 10 ladies in my book club went here for lunch on Saturday. Not only was the food good, but the staff was very accommodating and helpful. They put tables together and answered questions about dishes and ingredients. One woman who loves ceviche said the shrimp bowl she ordered was one of the best. Others had the fiesta salad in a tall fried tortilla. I had al pastor and tilapia tacos. They weren't skimpy on the fillings. The free chips come with 3 sauces: a hot red one, a milder green sauce, and a green relish. For drinks they had horchata, tamarind, and sodas. Sodas come in a can -- no fountain drinks. And no flan! But there was a good list of other desserts.

Hot green salsa

The food here was good, but I'm writing because of the salsa. We ordered the chips & salsa. We were given a green salsa that was spicy, but unlike a lot of salsas that have heat this one had great flavor.

This is my favorite spot for a waffle! I also love the fried shrimp plate. This husband and wife duo make some of the best frescas. My favorite is limon and pina colada. Service is fast and always friendly. I love the decor! Plenty of table seating

I came in today for a carry out order, the service was fast and staff was so kind. Food stayed hot and was packaged perfectly i ordered the birriani ramen with a side of beans, OMG it was so much food lol the food was fire I'll definitely be back for round 2..

I immediately loved this place upon walking in. There's lots of light. The decor is authentic. It smells good. The coffee is amazing! The service is with a smile, the food is great!

Was craving a breakfast burrito and didn't want to make my own or drive across town to my goto spot. So I hit the Yelp app and found Los Tacos Chefs so off I went. I am not sure how long they have been opened but man why haven't I been sooner? I know I went because I was craving a breakfast burrito, but everything on the menu looked good. I almost changed my mind and went with an order of chilaquiles. I ordered an egg, potato and cheese burrito with jalapenos added inside. This burrito was packed and jalapenos fresh! The burrito itself was huge! It was just what I was craving! So good! Service was great and friendly. The place is super clean and inviting. I already know I will be back to try the Birria Ramen and Sopes plate! Glad to have given Los Taco Chefs a try and look forward to coming back!

Carne asada fríes
Jerry K.

Came to this place on a whim and I regret the decision , menu is vast and maybe it's what I ordered only, based on other reviews this should of been a good place to go but second time reviews have let me down I got the carne asada fries to make it quick, 20 minutes later they arrived (mind you I was the only one on her at the time so unsure of the delay there but, presentation is great but other than that i would highly NOT recommend going here The fries tasted like fish as they are apparently cooked together and I could go on but it's not needed

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

Nice cuts, tender and not dry at all. Definitely a fan. Enjoyed both the nachos and the fajitas. Good serving sizes. Also, loved the staff! They were super friendly and welcoming. They offered to take my empty plate as I was about to. They also bud farewell to guests as they left. Felt like a really warm family place. Well lit, fun decor, clean. Very enjoyable - will be back!

I'm posting this review for two reasons - The first being because the manager passed the restaurant phone over to the supposed "owner" after I called within five minutes of getting home to tell them the chips and taco shells tasted like they were fried in old, rancid oil. The manager told me she could offer a credit and when I said I would prefer the refund to my card is when she went to get the "owner". I'm fairly sure I wasn't an asshole to her. I was pretty peeved at this point because we're talking about almost $16 of the $49.11 which was the cost of the food I ordered before tax and tip. I work in the service industry/for tips too so I get it. I'm well aware of the price increase of everything everywhere!!! Before going to Ritos I waited in a line of 10 cars at Sam's Club for gas and gas was $49.65. So there's that. The "owner" also reiterated that a refund would only be given if I brought the food back. I'm sorry, but, I live 15 minutes away from Mesa Riverview. My employer was 30 minutes from the restaurant. I sure as f*ck wasn't going to get my ass back in my car and drive back to Ritos to give them shitty tacos and chips. They told me they would offer a credit for next time for chips and 2 tacos - and I guess that's acceptable but my question is - how are you going to provide that when you don't have my number or an email address for me? And aren't chips typically complimentary at a Mexican food restaurant when you dine in? The manager had the audacity to say that the oil was changed, the chips and tacos are cooked in different vats, the cost of meat has gone up and "everyone is feeling it." That's quite the level of audacity. I'm to the point where I don't give a about your credit and if I want Ritos I'll drive even more out of my way to the Garfield or 7th Street location. I'm more pissed off about the "owner's" attitude than I am about the $2.55 chips I threw in the trash. And the taco shells didn't taste too rancid drowning the inside in salsa. My mother was in her bedroom in the back of the house (I was in the kitchen) and just told me she could hear the owner yelling at me and what a sh*tty way to do business. Keep your credit, I won't be back to your locatiom to dine in OR take food to go. PS - Change your raunchy ass oil. As you said, consumers pay *way too much* to get home with a To Go order to have to throw it away because oil isn't changed frequently enough.
