I have been to some dives. This is one of the diviest. 2 tables. 1 cook/ owner/ server/ bottle washer. One of the top 1-2-3 Mexican food places ( do I even call this a restaurant) for anywhere in the U.S. Canada, or Mexico. Freshest vegetables, meats cooks to perfection, moles and sauces and seasonings. This is not a place with your grocery store Mexican seasoning packets, this is all hand measured to perfection. My search for a taco shop to replace our favorite in San Diego has been found. I'm sold on their jalapeno burrito with alpastor meat. Alpastor (pork) is new to me, the seasoning is out of this world. It was a Friday morning and I was craving a breakfast burrito. A quick Yelp search turned up Los Jalapenos. The menu is pretty extensive and the burritos were very large. It wasn't the best breakfast burrito I've had, but it did hit the spot that morning. They definitely did not skimp on the meat so it was very filling. The interior isn't very spacious but they seem to get a lot of people calling ahead to pick up their food to go so seating wasn't an issue. I don't know if I would be back for breakfast but I would certainly be open for coming at lunch or dinner. 3 stars. read more

Real Mexicans making solid burritos , nice folks run the place

Being from San Diego and a relative new comer to Bend I actually asked the "cable guy" who was installing my cable if there were any real and authentic Mexican restaurants in Bend. We had tried one up in the NW Crossing and it was terrible! So anyhow, stumbled upon this place coming home from the pool and dropped in. All I can say is this place it 100% legit. I got a taco al pastor and a carne asada street tacos. They came with fresh onion and cilantro and a nice green salsa that was sooooo tasty! My wife had the chilaquiles and they too were the bomb. So stoked to find this place and will be back many times from here on out! read more

This place is small and clean. They make their own chorizo, which is delicious. No salsa bar, with is a negative, but salsa is readily available and you aren't charged for it. The service is basic, go up to a counter and order, but the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Entrees under $10 bucks. read more

This place is awesome! It's a little hole in the wall - easy to blink and drive right by it if you're not paying careful attention. I've been here many times, and it's always been delicious. My only complaint would be that is seems like they've raised their prices significantly over the past few years. I forgot about this place until the other day. I visited bend and decided to stop in and found they have added a breakfast menu. The veggie breakfast burrito was to die for! I advise you bring a jacket if you intend to eat in though because they seem to keep the heat turned down uncomfortably low. It seems this place is designed more for carry out and if i lived in bend I'd be taking advantage of that. Excellent food! read more

Los jalapeños is great authentic Mexican food! I've been going there since 98 and never been disappointed! The green salsa is so good! It is a hole in the wall but that gives it its charm! My favorite burrito place in Bend. The food is great and not too spicy for gringos like me. If you like it hot you can add their tasty sauces yourself. Plenty of menu options, American portion sizes, low prices, and friendly service make this place a hidden winner. Patio seating when the weather is nice and take-out are the best ways to eat here. This place is bomb! My wife and I both got burritos al pastor and they were really good. They come with guacamole included which at most places would cost you extra. Also they make the salsa in the shop and it was so good. You can taste the fresh ingredients and it wasn't too spicy. I also really like the vibe of the place, it feels like a taco shop but it had a little higher quality to it. The food tasted very authentic and delicious. They also give you a bottle of green sauce and a bottle of red sauce with your order to use which is great to have rather than trying to find the sauces at other tables. I would highly recommend this place, especially since it's not on the Westside it's on the east side of Bend which is far less busy. And after you're done you can head to the top of Pilot Butte since it's right there. I'm gonna make this a regular stop in my trips to Bend. read more
