Looking for some post hike chow, we were traveling back into Bend and oh my my what caught my eye but El Sancho. I quickly turned left to check out this busy taco shop. Loved that all the food is homemade including the tortillas. We ordered the carne asada and chipotle tacos along with an order of eloté. We could not have been more pleased. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and we grabbed a table under a big tree. The menu offers some great selections. I was tempted to try the chilaquiles but tacos always get me. Carmen's Famous Tortilla Soup looked really tasty as well, so it looks like I have a reason to return. Alcohol including tequila is also served along with refreshing aqua frescos. Our food came out fairly quickly and it was hot and ready to eat. Tacos were juicy and the eloté although not the best I have ever had still provided good flavor. Location is easy to find although parking was tight. Perhaps it was the time of day we came and it was a weekend. Service was quick and efficient. Ambiance was perfectly beautiful sitting amongst the trees. I would recommend should you find yourself in Bend stopping here for a little bit of Mexico!

El Sancho is a super casual mexican joint with the best tacos in Bend. We sat at a picnic table under a tree and thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. Speaking of the drinks... killer margaritas. They look small but really pack a punch! My favorite menu items were the chicken tacos and shrimp tacos. Highly recommend for a casual lunch or dinner.

El Sancho is one of the best places in Bend. Authentic Mexican food. Busy in the summer and worth the wait. Plenty of seating outside. This is our go to place when visiting Bend. Tacos are filling and delicious. Try them out on the Westside or the East side.

The chilaquiles were pretty tasty and sizable portion. I liked the drink selection too, though was bummed at only canned or bottled drinks. One of my companions and I both had some indigestion afterwards, but overall the flavor and pricing seemed alright. The server was very helpful and this place gets you in and out quickly, which was very necessary for our party. Ambiance is quirky, bright, and fun. Seems like more of a summer hangout? Limited indoor seating, especially for larger groups.

Had a lovely lunch w/ friends at El Sancho! We shared chips and guac (delicious - the chips were nicely seasoned/salted), and I got 3 tacos (chicken, chorizo, and beef) along with a passion fruit limonada. Everything was flavorful and delicious, and the outdoor seating area is lovely on a nice day. Very casual vibes, and you bus your stuff yourself, and a perfect lunch!

Always outstanding! We come every summer! Shrimp, carne asada and potato poblano plus delicious chips and salsa are this year's fav. Shoutout to the staff for being thoughtful of my family member in a wheelchair.

    Happy hour menu

We came here at the recommendation of a friend who lives in Bend and she couldn't have been more on point with this one! We were there for their awesome happy hour, tacos are three dollars and certain margaritas are discounted to $7.50. Being from San Diego we're pretty selective about our Mexican food choices but these tacos were legit really delicious!! I had a bite of the Carne Asada tacos my husband had ordered, nice firm chunks of beef and delicious seasoning. The Carnitas tacos I ordered were so good I normally only would eat one or two at the most but I ended up ordering a third taco. The chips and salsa are also on the happy hour menu for two bucks, the chips are homemade as well as the salsa you just can't beat that deal :-) also the staff here was outstanding and friendly great service a fun and funky atmosphere hands-down a winner in our book. We're from San Diego so we're pretty picky about our Mexican food choices and so glad that we were guided to this local gem.

Food: 4.5 mics Service: 4.5 mics Ambiance: 4 mice Food: Tacos were bombastically delicious. I had carnitas, mahi and Oaxaca and chilis. All excellent. I would have done all Oaxaca and chilis, it was so good. Service: Walk up to order window and the person at the window was very friendly and helpful. Nothing over the top but certainly Bend friendly. Ambience: Hole in the wall status. Definitely a cool little joint for lunch to meet up with friends and family. When in Bend...come thru.

This restaurant is literally one of my favorite places to eat every time we are in Bend. The service is super fast, their tacos are FIRE, and their margaritas sooo tasty - the mango margarita is a personal fave. There is not a whole lot of seating but every spot has been filled every time I go!

Whenever I'm in Bend this is a must stop. I travel once or twice a year and always look forward to stopping. Food is great. Service on point and location is dope. Sometimes you have a wait but you'll get over it. It's tacos.

I visited El Sancho during my 24hr stay in Bend and loved their drinks and food. The casual outdoor vibe was perfect for a warm afternoon bike ride and the margaritas hit the spot. The service was quick and all of the tacos were tasty. I enjoyed the variety of options and would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick bite near the river and awesome breweries!

I've pretty much had it with this place. We've had multiple groups order after us and we have waited over 30 min to get a couple of tacos.

After all that hard work, our family always ends up back at El Rodeo. It's our go-to spot and has been for years. The service is always great and the people working there are genuinely friendly and kind. It feels like a real family restaurant where they're happy you showed up. The bar is also a fantastic place to grab a drink or margarita, play a little video poker, and end up talking to half the locals in Bend. Somehow you go in for dinner and leave feeling like you attended a neighborhood reunion. The food is exactly what you want when you're craving Mexican: hot, good, and a lot of it. I have never once left there hungry or disappointed. Plates show up looking like they were designed for a lumberjack who skipped lunch. They recently remodeled the bar, which looks nice... but personally I believe Mexican restaurants should be built once in about 1987 and then left exactly the same forever. It's part of the charm. That said, the remodel won't stop me from going back regularly. Great people, great food, strong margaritas, and the kind of place that makes Bend feel like home. Five stars all day.

The calling and pickup experience was good. The super supreme burrito was definitely not super and was not enough to fill my appetite. I hope that it was a one time experience at this location. I tried the chicken fajita burrito with was quite watery and I was not expecting raw green onions in it, but overall left me craving for a better version of a burrito. They cater to their clientele, the people of Bend. I don't blame them at all for catering to their customer's tastes. I ordered an all meat burrito, some fish tacos and a couple of carne asada tacos. Let's talk first about their tacos. The tortillas are flour tortillas. Most Mexican joints use corn tortillas. The fish tacos are made with tilapia. They are grilled, not fried. Not quite the same fish tacos that we have in Southern California. The carne asada was grilled. However, both tacos seemed to be missing flavor. Adding salsa did not help. The all meat burrito was indeed all meat. I thought I asked for carne asada, instead, I got a burrito full of shredded beef. Again, adding seasoning would've helped. I'll be super nice to them and give them 3 stars. But, if you come from an area with lots of Mexican food, you won't like this spot.
