Very cool military bar! Nowhere near a base, but worth a drive. Good choice of brews and local wines and a very BIG pretzel! Shared it with friends of past years, like one gentleman I haven't seen for 60 years!!! Quite the night. read more

3/5, December 2023. We stopped here while visiting San Antonio around Christmas. It's a bit out of the way relative to the downtown area but not far from the Rim area. The beer we tried was solid and the service was good. The Brewery is themed to military/special forces and has a solid bar atmosphere. We were on our way to a dinner reservation so we didn't get a chance to spend as much time as we were planning to but this would make a sense a solid stop for anyone in the area. read more

The food, beer, and camaraderie are second to none. Just wish they were closer! All the Way!

I was hesitant to visit Longtab thinking it was the brewery equivalent to Planet Hollywood/Rainforest Cafe. Basically, where the theme takes center stage instead of the food and beer. I had already come from another brewery and wasn't looking to get too much and considering that I had a low bar for Longtab I anticipated I'd just have a sample and then leave. Chip on shoulder, I walked in and decided I would try their kolsch, Phantom Fighter. 1) Beers in the this style are hard to make, visually, and taste wise, 2) most new breweries don't make this style or make a broad portfolio of beersfor a variety of reasons. PF was actually pretty decent and it made me stick around long enough to try their food as well. Their bratwurst on a pretzel bun with their mustard? Delicious, the chips were a good accompaniment as well, probably better than fries would have been. read more

We had the best time at Longtab. Very nice wait staff who were very attentive. Our brat and Tuna special were both excellent. Loved our beers. Very Veteran focused ambiance- but... Go Navy read more

Trying out local beer after watch solar eclipse, this one was a close one, so we decide to give a try. The shareable is good size for two of us, great variety and pair up perfectly with beer. For beer, we tried The Tribe, great choice for coffee lover. Red Empire is also an exceptional beer. Hope one day they will be in the Houston market. read more

Great beer and appetizers. Try the beer cheese soup and Bavarian pretzel! Good place to relax and listen to music.

I've been trying to come here for so long. Finally my boyfriend and I went last night. I love the energy of this place. It's somewhere I can find myself just sitting for a while enjoying the company of friends. The staff was so friendly and very attentive. The beer here is really good, and I don't even like beer so that's saying something. The Bulls Bock has to be the best beer I've had. We got the Bavarian pretzel, house salad, and Cubano sandwich. Everything was great. No complaints on the taste or quality of the food or beer. My only thing would be price racked up to over a 100 for two people. But I think I would come for beer and a pretzel vs a meal. read more

Happy to update this review. We had been several times before since my last review and it's time to update. This weekend stopped in with some friends who had never been before. Everyone was really impressed with their beer. The giant pretzel was delicious and their charcuterie was a nice size - could have used a bit more cheese but no stars deducted. The right glass per pour is always a plus. Drawback is they don't have flights bur rest assured that any of their beers are an excellent choice as per the group. I like their Texas wine selection. I will return and will continue to bring friends. Stop by and support this local joint! Well worth the drive. read more

An awesome place to come by to do work or just enjoy company!! My friend showed me this place and told me how it is Veteran owned, and sure enough you walk in and the memorabilia and decor around the whole place says enough! Very interesting to look around and see various pictures, flags, etc around the establishment very nicely executed theme! I loved the causal vibe of this place. I like to call it a coffee shop for beer lovers! I had a great beer the Safehouse (Farmhouse Ale) and it was perfect, nice and light feel to it! I also split a pretzel with my friend! It was HUGE so just a fair warning but plenty between two people. Very nice stop and will be visiting soon, I have heard they switch out the beers according to season and I'm excited to try the other selections! read more

The beer here is phenomenal, some of the best beer in San Antonio. The atmosphere is ok, good music! The food is ok but expensive. The service is typically pretty horrible, inattentive and rude staff. read more

Food, drink and atmosphere are great. It is the service that lacks. The servers are not assigned a section. I was visited by four different servers. Food was delivered by the cook. They lack an effective floor manager and the servers do not communicate with each other. read more

In an unassuming location far from malls and plazas, you find this place. Once you're in, you take a sec to look at the decor, war paraphernalia, and old war shows on the TV. Go inside, there are more tables and relaxing loungers; just don't sit too close to the windows, the sun can burn through yo eyes. Got the charcuterie platter with a couple of dark and white sausages, plenty-o-soft pretzels, dips n pickles. A great assortment of beers named after military jargon. The servers are very attentive and pleasant. read more

We are very glad this locally/veteran owned brewery is right down the street from us. First timers but we will become regulars in the near future. We were promptly greeted and chose to sit at the bar. The atmosphere is very patriotic and I salute these fine people for that. Now the beer? One of a kind. They aren't slanging sour/lactose/artificially Flavored nonsense, they are brewing super smooth and the real deal traditional brews of the European descent. Had a fantastic dunkel, saison and a dopplebock. I hear they rotate and brew beers frequently so expect something new. Also, we tried the pork belly nachos and dang, that hit different. They also sell beer to go and fill growlers. Can't wait to come back! read more

This is probably the best kept secret in town. I seriously wasn't aware this place was open. Located in an area full of car repair shops, you could easily pass it up. This place is for everyone. It's a coffee shop, brewery and they have food. They also serve wine for those that don't want beer or coffee. The most surprising thing is that their food is legit. It's delicious and they serve large portions. I didn't expect much from their food, but I was wrong. They also sell canned beer and coffee to go. We started by sharing the soft pretzel. It's a perfect appetizer for beer. For my meal, I had the Blackened shrimp hoagie. it came with large pieces of shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned. The side was house seasoned chips. I can't complain. It was a good meal. For beer, you can always as for half pours so you can try most than one. This place sells typical beer. Nothing too crazy. The wine served is from Messina Hof. It seems like they support local Texas businesses. They also have cake thieves bakery items for sale. There's plenty of options for seating. Parking is available on site. read more

We came to enjoy some beer and snacks. It was a small cute place with TVs and a good amount of indoor seating. The staff was really nice and fast! Got the pretzel since we got there late and they were out of a few things already but the pretzel is all I really wanted so we were happy! It came out warm and huge portion. Try the Oatmeal Beer for a coffee/cream taste, their lager and pale ale were also really good! $10 for snacks and $8-10 a beer. read more

Lots of fun food and drink, the only complaint I could muster would be the lack of fountain drinks, which is strange on both sides since sodas go well with alcohol and with food. Overall, cool environment with fun decor and food that we quite enjoyed! read more

Veteran owned and tasty beers. Will have to come back to try their food. They have events on different nights. The only thing I don't like is the location can may be be scary in the evening being inside the loop in a kind of warehouse district. But it is worth the chance to come out here, especially during the day. Their taps are SO CLEAN! Ladies at the bar were helpful and kind. There is table seating and plenty of TVs to watch events. They serve drafts and bottles to take home, bring a growler for their award winning beers! read more

It was crowded And their was a reserved section for a party. There were no lower type tables only the tall ones. We were going to leave when Sarah said she could get us a low table set up. I'm all about supporting veteran owned businesses. Longtab Brewing is no different. Longtab has an amazing selection of craft beer in a quaint environment. Don't come here looking for bar food the food is on point. I had a short rib and that thing was just falling apart it was so tender. I love the environment, the indoor beer garden is a nice touch. Long tab is one of my favorite local breweries. The location is very unassuming but don't let the warehouse location fool you, these folks know what they are doing when it comes to beer and food. It has a pub vibe but gourmet food. They also have a terrific selection of coffee! The menu rotates so it might look different each time you come. My current favorite is the turkey kale salad. I think about this salad and crave it. They also have a pretty solid pretzel. The beer is plentiful with a wide range when it comes to type. The stout is my favorite. Service is always nice, the wait staff is happy to make recommendations. The prices are a bit higher than an average pub but the quality of the food is the reason why.... Totally worth it. Overall this is a warm and welcoming place with excellent food and beer! read more

The beer selection is forever rotating, but I can say with absolute honesty that I have yet to order an item off the food menu that was disappointing. I am willing to swear that Longtab has a professional chef on staff. The food is damn good. The environment is calm and the music is at a comfortable volume. One can not ask for more than that. read more

Pineland Oppression is a decent IPA. I really liked the Breacherbock, a wheat Doppelbock. Didn't have any food. Curious as to why the prices for a pint are so high, here and at Busted Sandal. I'm from the Boise area, and 99% of the pours are $5, even 10oz premiums like bourbon barrel stouts. One last note, Doppelbock is spelled dopplebock on the can. read more

I'm going to start with their link because you have to check this place out: https://www.longtabbrewing.com/ -- this is a Veteran-owned brewery here in San Antonio on more of the Far West side. When you walk in, it's like walking into someone's personal Army Special Forces and Green Beret museum, but in a spectacular way! The inside is open, modern, and comfortable, but with a very personal touch on the history of the owners. They are also serving up really good craft beer on tap and a menu that I need to try more of! I had The Originals hazy with their Pork Belly Nachos and... WOW! What a GREAT combo! I'll take it directly from their menu for you: Slow cooked pork belly, caramelized Belgian beer bbq sauce, beer cheese, house pickled jalapeños, tangy shallots, fresh scallions. OUT OF THIS WORLD. I said that part. :) read more

Do you love Craft Beer? Then you need to visit Longtab! 110%. Great beer! Great space! Great owners! Cheers!

Being a retired Army NCO who had First Sergeants and a few Commanders who were Special Forces I am always partial to places like this. The atmosphere is great and the people working were friendly and helpful when asked about their beers. I ended up ordering the Hellas dedication beer, with one sip I was reminded of being in Germany. They have a nice selection of beer which they brew and you can get cans of their beer to take home. As for food you will have to forgive me, as we were having such a good time that I forgot to take pictures of the food. There were 4 of us in our group, 3 of which are retired Army. We started off with the Pork Belly Nachos then I ordered the Grilled Cubano sandwich. The food was was very good and I intend to return soon. read more
