My husband and I met up with a good friend for happy hour at Sojourn Trading. We don't go downtown too often, but we were happy to find nearby free street parking for "downtown Tuesdays". Cocktails were stellar and made with fresh ingredients. Decor made me feel like I was in a garden. I forgot to take pics of the food, but we enjoyed the bruschetta, chips & guacamole, and Cubano. Bartenders were nice and quick with service. We thought the happy hour prices were a steal for such good quality food and drinks.

    Cuban sandwich was delicious!

Great friendly service with amazing food and drinks! Perfect little hidden gem. This will be our evening go to while we are here.

We had our Christmas Holiday here, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I truly recommend you to swing by and support our local businesses. The ambience is so chill- boho, a neat place.

Food is good! Idk what they put in the empanadas but pairing it with the sauce omg! Sooo freaking good! The guac is fresh too and mmmm mmm mmm definitely hidden gem! I judge the bar offerings and they have good stuff! Betty on draft that's dope af! Definitely worth checking out and great place to munch with friends and have a drinky after work during work idk whatever your vibe is. Service is great and place is super cute and intimate.

On the edge of San Pedro Creek Culture Park, across from the headquarters of Texas Public Radio, sits this cute little bar. It's got a great mix of antique restoration (high ceilings, stained glass, crystal chandeliers) and laid-back modernism (murals painted on brick walls, a long teal banquette, square blue glass water bottles). I had a pineapple daiquiri and it was delicious. The roasted fava beans were a crunchy treat. The menu is quite varied (charcuterie, bahn mi, wings, empanadas). They have special menus for lunch, brunch, and happy hour. Service was fantastic. They also do parties!

Absolutely love this bar! If you are looking for a very hip/vibe bar where you can have a personable experience this is where you want to be!!! The bartenders are artist! We didn't try the food, but the drinks kept us coming back for more! I could tell the bartenders love what they do!!!

This place is awesome and I hope they make it since right now there isn't much to attract people to this part of downtown. It was convenient for me to come here since I work nearby. I came here when it used to be Juniper Tar and it has gotten a total revamp and is adorable. I almost felt like I was somewhere more like Miami based on the ambiance. Service was fantastic. I liked that we could choose the items for the charcuterie. The Summer Watermelon salad was delicious. Oysters were good and they accommodated me by not using cilantro water on half of them since I was sharing with a friend that likes that nasty herb. I had two orders of the ceviche because I was hungry, it was delicious, and again they happily left off the cilantro oil for me. I ordered the Sojourn Raspa and I would have liked it more if it had been sweeter like the actual treat. I also had the Mai Tai and it was delicious, not overly sweet and refreshing on a hot day. I also had the Alma de Trabanco and the Agricanto Amaran Bouvery Chocolate Liqueur. Don't expect these to take the place of a sweet dessert. They are move savory and an acquired taste. I preferred the former over the latter, especially since the Agricanto had a taste that reminded me of vitamins. I would recommend visiting here before a show at the Majestic, Empire, annd Aztec theaters for food and light bites.

We were downtown for another engagement and before we headed back home decided to stop by Sojourn for a quick nightcap. For anyone who remembered the previous bar, which was aging and uber dark, a complete revamp in decor and vibe has occurred. They stayed true to the old bones of the space but opened up the space with a bright and fresh look. Lots of windows and mood lighting to give it an inviting and intimate (dare I say romantic) atmosphere. I felt like I was in a cool downtown bar/Cafe which is not an experience I get often in downtown SA / riverwalk.. Their cocktail menu was quite impressive, libations curated with fresh juices, homemade syrups (tiger's blood cordial?!!), and premium liquors. We had the Sojourn Raspa and the Firefly from their Signature menu. Both were fantastic and had unique flavors. The Raspa (tiger's blood cordial, Smith & Cross Jamaican rum, apple jack, lime, and coconut) was refreshing and bursting with flavor. The Firefly (amontillado sherry, ambrosia aperitivo, red wine reduction, lemon, and bubbles) was light, tasty, and the ingredients balanced perfectly together (especially the bubble effervescence). We also had a Mai Tai from their Classics menu which was fantastic as well (as simple as Mai Tais seem ingredient wise they are notoriously not made well). Now on to what made this place epic - the food! Drinks are great but the food was AWESOME. They have a decent variety of sharing dishes and small bites, we ordered a Cubano and cold cut sandwich. Holy crap were these mind blowing. All I'll say is that you need to go and try it out for yourself. We are pretty picky when it comes to Cubanos and this is probably the best Cubano I've had in Texas - it's that good (and the aioli on the side was to die for). Don't be fooled by the cold cut sandwich name it may sound simple but I was blown away by how delicious and complex the flavor profile was. Quality cuts of prosciutto, coppa, and salami with smoked goat cheese gouda (OMG!), slaw, and an olive tapenade. We took half the sandwiches to go so we could pair with our wine at home. We also got a charcuterie plate to go as well (quality cuts of meat and cheeses with honeycomb and sweetie drops). Rarely do you find places that have food and cocktails EQUALLY delicious at this level and caliber of quality. We are adding Sojourn to our must visit downtown destination list. As our official nightcap we also had the chance to try one of their aperitivo and accoutrement pairing dishes (think of it as a large amuse bouche) - Melon liqueur paired with crispy prosciutto, citrus marscapone, and mint oil. Wonderful! My only comments on challenges are parking (there is no parking so I recommend ride share) and they have a good but limited by the glass red wine list (only 3).

We decided to revisit this place for the second time, primarily because of the reasonable prices we had experienced before. However, this time around, while the drinks were still enjoyable, and the bartender is amazing, we couldn't ignore the fact that the portions were disappointingly small. To our astonishment, when the bill arrived, it totaled $25 for the two drinks (as others mention). Given that this is a relatively new bar in a not-so-busy area/hole-in-the-wall (22 reviews/11 months should tell you that), we had expected more reasonable pricing, especially since during our previous visit, drinks were only $7 each. It appears they may be overestimating their worth. We have serious doubts about their ability to sustain their business with such high prices (78% markup of your drinks in less than a year? Woah there!) and as a result, we don't plan to return.

Precious "new" little place for the downtown lunch crowd! Finally, something a little different that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Cute decor, cane back chairs, stained glass windows, exposed brick. (Weird chain hanging from the ceiling in the women's bathroom, but it's a good conversation piece). When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and told we can choose our table. I ordered the grilled cheese, which came with a spicy dressing. It was very good. My friend got the poke bowl. It was fresh and had a nice crunch with the addition of wasabi peas. Only complaint she had was that she wasn't offered chopsticks. If you like Bad Bunny, you're in luck, because they were banging all his tunes. All in all, 10/10. Service was excellent and vibes were great. I will be back for lunch.

We literally stumbled upon this restaurant-- and glad we did! We came in during happy hour, and was looking at the menu and thought this was not going to pass as dinner. But I was totally wrong! We were totally stuffed. One dish that stood out to me was the Beef tartare. It was just *kiss*. One of the best I've had. Maybe it was the quality of meat? Or perfectly seasoned? The cocktails were beautiful along with the space. The flatbread was also delicious! That vinaigrette they glazed on top was amazing. Cool spot for a date.

This place used to be Juniper Tar a long time ago. I'm happy to see a new place using the space. I was there during happy hour and I had a great time. The bartenders were very friendly and I even got information about a new speakeasy in San Antonio. I only got a beer for $5. I am looking forward to trying their food in the future.
