We hit up Longtab after a hike at Eisenhower Park, as is our post-hike tradition. Nestled in a warehouse district, Longtab is a great, welcoming space! I come from a military family so the fact that it's veteran-owned and operated made it that much sweeter. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with lots of large screen TVs (I got to watch the Winter Olympic closing ceremonies live, so that was a plus). The staff was super friendly, too! The food and beer offerings were top-notch - we had the giant garlic parm pretzel, the spinach dip and the chips and beer queso. Everything was flavorful and served piping hot! I only got a pic of the pretzel because we immediately dug into the rest of the food as soon as it hit the table! Their beers were terrific too: I ordered the Legion scotch ale (tall, dark and tasty) and my friends ordered Hearts and Minds cherry Belgian. We happened here after visiting the Animal Shelter. They had an Oktoberfest party happening and the place was busy inside! It was very festive with traditional German outfits and a live band! The beers were very good, and they have a full kitchen and menu. The bartender noted that the food menu changes depending on special events (there was a lot of German-style food and apps), but there are some staples as well. We ordered a large pretzel and a brat on a pretzel bun. It was all very, very good! My only reason for giving it 4 stars out of 5 is that I love a nice patio or a place to sit outside. The location is in some industrial area and though they do have outdoor seating it is not covered and basically just in the parking lot. We visited on a HOT summer day and no one was out there. I'm so glad that we were recently introduced to Longtab Brewery. Some dear friends of ours were in town and had visited here before and suggested we meet up. The drinks and food were outstanding and I believe this will be a new hangout for us. Longtab is veteran owned with rich brews. They also have some great Texas wines. I had the Messina Hof Almond Demi-Sec and it was downright delightful. The food was awesome. My husband and I shared a giant Bavarian pretzel. The beer cheese sauce was the perfect accompaniment. The brewery is in an industrial park, not too far off the main roads. I've had one of their beers before, and looked them up. I like that they are veteran owned. We walked in and there is menu stand right there, plus a cooler full of canned beer. Also merch. Bar has about 8-10 spots to sit at. There are about 10 table with chairs in the front part of the brewery. There is another section near the kitchen, and there is more seating there. I don't remember anything outdoors, but I did ask if I can smoke a cigar, they said out in the parking lot,. I can't tell you if it was dog friendly, I didn't ask or notice any thing that mentioned animals. I love the decor. Military. Ashley came over and we talked about what they had to drink. She went over the menu. Very polite and knowledgeable. We don't get any food, we had eaten at another place. Will try the food here next time. What a fantastic place. We wanted dinner, and saw them in Yelp, so decided to try them out. Though I wasn't sure because breweries are typically loud, I quickly became a fan. The beer was fantastic, the food was amazing, the atmosphere friendly. I could hear music from my youth (the 60s), but it was in the background. I didn't have to strain to hear my wife, nor yell so she could hear me. The service? fast, friendly, there but not hovering. If you don't mind a ton of military memorabilia, it isn't a bad spot for beer and bar food. One thing I was surprised by was the disproportion of their beer glasses. My gf got the first beer on the menu and I got the 2nd and they came back with hers being huge. I enjoyed the beer but it was the bar food that was impressive. Came upon this place in accident and so glad we stopped! Great atmosphere - 2 rooms with high, airy ceilings, and an outdoor patio. Attentive, informative, and friendly table service. I had a Belgian ale and the kolsch - both from their brewery and both very good.
