We went to try their beer and where not disappointed. The variety was great, and everything I tasted was good. Not all IPAs either, but a mix of all different styles. I wasn't there to eat, but did want a snack, so I ordered their pretzel, which comes with beer cheese. It was huge, and good. It also came with ample cheese, unlike some places that give you a thimble full. The wait staff was also very friendly and attentive. I will be going back again as I couldn't try their whole menu. My only critique would be I wish they offered flights so I could try more flavors of beer at a time. read more

Fantastic atmosphere speaking as a veteran myself. The entire place is decked out with patriotism in honoring the military and in particular the Green Berets. The beer is brewed in the house, obviously, and are amazing. I have tried all except IPAs which I do not care for and the ones that I have had are brewed with care. I got a brought worst on a pretzel bun for lunch. It came out in a matter of minutes and was smoking hot. The bone is simply amazing. Just enough salt to make me want more. It comes with stone ground mustard and I would swear they made it outback it is so fresh and tasty. The sauerkraut adds just enough tang to cut the richness. The braut was amazing. So plump and juicy and just a bit of heat on the backend. Can not recommend it enough. The staff is incredibly friendly and will take time to talk to you about the beers and how they came about. I got the ipa and the honey ale and both were pretty tasty. They had some more brews that are supposed to be coming out within the next week or so that looked really good!! Had a bit of an issue the first time I came in, but they took care of it. Thoroughly enjoyed this place. We had 3 beers (the dubbel, tripel and marzen) and all were spot on. We sampled a couple of others and they were all terrific. Nice interior space. The only food we had was a pretzel, and it was a bit disappointing ( hence the 4 vs. 5 stars). it was large as promised, but very soft and doughy, not the dense chewiness I would have expected. On the other hand, food coming out around us looked good, so we will be back and try other things. read more

4th time busing in two weeks! Pulled pork sliders are amazing! They have a little kick but want you want more. Street tacos are another fav. As well as the brat on a pretzel bun. I'm not a fan of nachos but I can eat an entire plate of their steak nachos. They don't use can canned cheese! All of their beer is amazing! I don't like IPAs but their new Regiment is really good. My favorite is the long haired dictionary. You can't go wrong with trying OSS stout, Bronze Bruce, and G chief porter. read more

I tried half the beers and I was a fan. Plus I thought someone might say something about my dog being inside considering I thought there was a place out side so I wouldn't upset any one but he was well received. My hostess was great, but the only reason I'm not giving the full 5 star was I ordered food almost right away and it took a hour and the place was not all that busy, but the beer obviously came fast. I never leave reviews, but I can't let this place go without sharing! We first came in July 4th and have been here twice since. Service, atmosphere, food, beer...all top notch! Servers are knowledgeable and friendly! We've had the pretzel and cheese, onion dip, brats, grilled cheese, a couple specials and the pop pastries and Lick ice cream. Came here on a whim after being in the neighborhood. Cool little place tucked into the middle of an industrial section. Beer on tap was excellent. Service was great. The fresh menu was set up just in time for Oktoberfest and the food was excellent! Recommend the curry ketchup on anything. Great flavor! We came by on a Sunday afternoon to check it out and it's a cool spot to hang out. The staff is all super friendly and laid back. Cool atmosphere and space. We had a beer flight and pizza. All really good. Of course, we also tried the coffee, liked it so much we bought a bag of their coffee to take home. If you are looking for a chill spot to hang back and munch, this is a great place. De Opresso Liber - San Antonio's newest spot for craft beer and coffee delivers in every way. The beers, all made in-house, are outstanding in spite of a current small lineup. Nothing here is overly hopped or uses ridiculous ingredients - just straight ahead great classics like a Pale Ale, an IPA, a German-Style Honey Blonde, a Scotch, and a Vanilla Stout. The food offerings are simple, clean, and earnest; again, no needless bells and whistles or your standard artery-choking fried bar fare. Both the grilled panini and brat in a bun were excellently made and presented. Guatemala single-origin coffee is also very good and helps balance the feel of this place for either a nice brunch spot, or one you can roll on into some beer sipping after. The interior is a little tight given that approximately half the space is brewer's territory, but even that's a nice touch with bags of Munich malt decorating along with great U.S. Special Forces images. Plan ahead if you're bringing a large group. A clean, upscale and modern bar, clean restroom, and small area for brewery gear sales rounds it out. Longtab is definitely worth a spot, if for nothing else, to support a Veteran business, and our most elite. read more

Longtab is a nondescript local brewery tucked into an industrial/trade business area of San Antonio. Lots of picnic table seating, with a couple of outside tables. This was our first visit, and we enjoyed great food, and awesome beer. We started off with the pulled pork nachos (large order shared with 3 of us). What we loved is the meat was well proportioned with the tortilla chips. Loved the flavor of the meat, seasoning/sauce, jalapeños, cheese, and chips. We moved on to the onion soup. Great flavor (maybe could have used a little less salt), Bavarian pretzel (soft and delicious), and a Cuban sandwich (will definitely order all of the above again). We tried several beers: G Chief... a well flavor balanced porter; Jedburgh, a Belgian Blonde, Breacherbock, which is a Weizen Dopplebock. We would have bought a keg of each. None of these are hoppy (which we were happy they weren't hoppy ). We can't wait to take relatives to Longtab! read more

First time trying anything from Longtab and we were not disappointed! The IPA is great The pizza is so simple but you can tell the ingredients are fresh! We also got the huge pretzel that comes with the mustard and that was fantastic too! My only recommendation is to add some wings to the menu and also some queso for the pretzel? I love longtab! Their beer is great and their food is scrumptious! You may have to wait a little to receive your food but it's worth it. The staff are very nice and even though there is no out door seating there is a huge garage door that could possibly open. It have a military vibe to it with pictures of what looks like spec ops everywhere. read more

Really cool atmosphere, very relaxed. The food was very very good. The only thing was it took a very long time to come out and they got one of our orders wrong- twice. The second time we just ate it because we didn't want to wait any longer. They took 10% off the sandwich. Otherwise nice people and a good experience. Man, I was really excited about this place and have heard nothing but good things. Don't make it to this side of town often but went down after work to check it out and grab some beer and coffee because online said it was open (never know in the time of COVID). Got there, 'Open' sign was on and the door was unlocked but nobody was around. Finally found someone and said 'Hey, I'm here to just grab some beer to go'. Guy came out of the back, states that they were closed and seemed bewildered that I was even there to begin with - made it very clear I was not supposed to be in the place and said nothing could be done because his tap guy wasn't there. Apparently they opened at 3 but I got there around 2. Even if I couldn't get coffee I could have grabbed some already canned beer out of the fridge but that seemed way too much to this guy at the time, I was ready to spend some money.
