While visiting San Antonio, Elsewhere Garden was a great suggestion for me to meet and catch up with my family. This a big open spot with plenty of seating and a few swings that face the river. The place is covered in plants and fake flowers to create a whimsical ambiance. The food you order at the window, and the drinks you order off the QR Code on the table. The drink options consists of mainly premade cocktails or frozen margaritas and a nice selection of beers. We opted for the fruity drinks and they were really good and they come out super fast. Unfortunately I didn't try any of their food but my family all ordered some and devoured it. I have nothing bad to say about this place--at all. I went one time for a mother-daughter day and all I have to say is I LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE! If you live for the vibes (because me too!) this is your place to be. There are so many photogenic spots, the bathroom is super clean, and even that is such a "vibe." The food is a bit up there, but you can't go wrong when you're buying something to eat to avoid getting "too crazy," while drinking. This was a great spot for a meet up with some classmates. The venue has plenty of outdoor seating near the Riverwalk and is an open area with tons of tables, chairs, and places to grab very mixed drinks beers on top and generous portions of food. They have cool decor, like giant dinosaur landscaping, hanging florals, and Chinese lanterns. Seating options include picnic tables, couches, swings, and hammocks. They also have a cool slide! They also had a band while we were there on a Sunday afternoon, which was awesome! They have a large drink menu, as well as food and a stuffed cookie and ice cream shack. I had a frozen strawberry margarita and it was boozy. A bunch of their cocktails are quite strong at 17% ABV. We did not try the food, but it looked good. We decided to stop at Elsewhere Garden Bar & Kitchen as it was on the way back to our hotel from the Pearl area and looked like a fun little stop. The decorations are very fun and colorful and really draw you in. As we had a big breakfast and had dinner plans, we decided to split the grilled chimichurri chicken sandwich and then each have a drink (a margarita for me). There are two separate lines for food and drink orders so we decided to start at the food line. The line went quickly and the gentleman at the counter was very friendly! We then ordered our drinks and realized they also had games so we checked out a little card game to play. The drinks were ready first and we just picked those up at the window. For a plain margarita with just a salt rim, I thought it was an odd color and that it also tasted a bit weird but luckily it wasn't a bad weird. The sandwich and fries it came with were delicious (it's easy to get sauces and silverware at the self serve area). Elsewhere is somewhere else that is unlike any other spots in San Antonio and I say that as a very good thing. Where else can you go with a large group of friends and/or family to hang out, eat, and relax right off of the San Antonio Riverwalk? I say that out of deep love because this isn't one of those tourist-y spots off of the Riverwalk, if you know what I am saying? You can even bring the kids here to play on the mushroom-fairy playground! Kids play all around the area in a safe way that is away from the river - for any parents/families wondering. I really love the nooks and crannies of places you can tuck away and hang out/eat and drink. There are plenty of spacious areas for you to hang out from lounge style in a circle, at a table top for six, or you can swing along facing the river to look out at the passerby's and the ducks in the river. It is such a delightful view with a nice cold beer or juice in your hand. Come here during the holidays too! I love the way they can transfer the grounds to feeling like you are inside a Christmas tree. There were presents hanging in the trees, nice large blowup decor, a large Grinch quote, and even a snow globe you can get inside of! Service is fast here and swift so be ready to know what you want to order. You can open a tab here too or buy drink by drink if you are with friends who want to cover and order all in one. Sometimes there can be a line to order drinks on their busy nights. Our weekend getaway from Fort Worth turned out warmer than normal. Actually hot for November. This spot was highly recommend from fellow Yelpers and looked like a good place to stop and cool off. When you walk into the property it transports you to an oasis far away from the middle of a major city. The concentration seems to be more relaxation than food BUT they get great reviews for their food. We found a picnic style table under the gazebo that faces the river walk. Loved that they had misters on to help cool their customers while enjoying the view. The customer service is stellar here. They were very helpful in ordering. You walk up to a food truck like building, order, then go pick it up. One guy was even so helpful in ordering he gave me tips for other places to visit around the city. That's rare! We had to try their Parmesan Brussels sprouts! They were ready first and once we dove in I couldn't stop myself! Omg so good and perfect amount of seasoning. Then I got a mushroom Swiss burger and opted for side salad. That burger was mouth watering and awesome! My wife had the patty melt and waffle fries. She reluctantly let me try a bite and I was green with envy. I wanted them both. If we lived in San Antonio I would come here at least once a week, for the ambience and amazing food! The vibes are immaculate, and the food and drinks are great. There's an extensive beer menu, along with mixed drinks options. Food options include burgers, sandwiches, fries, and chicken tenders. Any food orders are communicated via text for you to stop by the counter once the food is ready after you order. I got the chimichurri fries most recently, and it was delicious. There was plenty of meat, along with arugula and chimichurri sauce that didn't make the fries soggy at all. So cute! Nice, outdoor space on the River walk. They have so much seating, lush plants, and a great atmosphere. On a Thursday night, they had a live singer who was amazing. There are comfortable benches with low tables for large groups, swings that seat two people, hammocks and a lot of tables. Good food too, tried the fried chicken sandwich with fries. Huge variety of beer, seltzers and wine sold in cans or bottles. Kid friendly, in the side area they have a mushroom themed kids area with a large slide. I think small kids should have a parent take them down, but kids 3-4 and older can go by themselves. The very bottom of the slide is a little precarious so you might want to take your small kid down once or wait at the bottom to make sure they're ok.
