For a beautiful restaurant, the owner Martha sure does have a very ugly attitude. Unfortunately I…read moredid not get to taste the food because it took over one hour and a half to come out .. so we canceled our plates after waiting patiently. There was no communication in between this time at all, no refills on our waters, ( only one we had to ask for, and martha even had an attitude when bringing that out ) never brought the one soda we ordered, never brought the chips they promised twice. We were guests for a surprise engagement party here. We are simply friends of the bride and groom who came hungry and expecting to eat. We had no connection or understanding of the agreements between the party host and the restaurant. We were simply guests of the small party. I understand things can get out of hand, guest count might have unexpectedly changed. Things might went off the course of plans with head count but that is not only nothing to do with us, but it gives no excuse for a business owner/server to snap on her guests. I could see how 15 more people than expected can be stressful but when these people are guests at your restaurant and putting money in your pockets the right thing to do is treat them kindly. When something is scheduled in advance, as the owner of the business, Martha you should know how to handle situations without hostility and be able to work under pressure without snapping on your guests. Snapping on the bride and her pregnant friend is pretty horrible service and so disappointing. Thankfully my friend is not easily moved and she was still able to enjoy her night! People, if you want to support a small business, maybe find one that doesn't have multiple reviews about the owner of the place being incredibly rude to her guests. If you're in helotes looking for real authentic Mexican food, exceptional service and some pretty cool stuff to look at while you're inside I'd recommend El Chaparral Mexican Restaurant.

Will be back again, for sure.

I had a very disappointing & upsetting experience with this venue and would not recommend it. One…read moreof the biggest issues was the complete lack of transparency regarding their cancellation and refund policies. At no point during booking were we clearly informed that our deposit--or any portion of our payment--would be non-refundable under certain circumstances. Unfortunately, when we had to cancel, they kept $750 without any prior warning or explanation that this would happen. To make matters worse, communication became nearly impossible afterward. We lost contact with the owners entirely, and our attempts to reach out for clarification or resolution were ignored. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and frustrating. Clear policies and reliable communication are basic expectations when working with any business, especially for something as important as a venue. I strongly suggest others proceed with caution and get everything in writing before committing. It was evident that the owners were only interested in scamming us out of our money.
